Lanzilla replied to Middlo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Let's just hope he's smoking a victory cigar on Saturday night. Is there such a thing as a victory nicorette patch??? -
lovely start girls

I thought either yourself or Kylmo would respond to that one. -

Lanzilla replied to Middlo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Good on you Middlo for taking the time to post. That was a terrific prformance by the GB Boys on Monday night and you all did us proud. On a cautionary note, i would just like to say that if you are intending to play golf with a few of the lads, then they will be safest standing between you and the pin. Don't want any of them getting hurt now do we? Good luck for Saturday and i think the roof will come off the Stadium if you guys pull it off!........Go for it! -
Who will win the World Cup??
Lanzilla replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think the Run Off will be a tight affair and i'm sticking my neck out and going for the Poles to surprise everyone and qualify with Sweden at the expense of the Aussies. Run off Result... 1-Sweden 2-Poland 3-Australia 4-Czech Republic Final Result... 1-Sweden 2-Denmark 3-Great Britain 4-Poland -
So Havvy gets the nod
Lanzilla replied to Lanzilla's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That is just so British and the reason why we never win at anything. I say well done to Middlo for sticking by his convictions and well done to Screenie for being honest with his self. Agree with you that if Screen didn't feel up to it then Havvy is the right choice. I just hope that the track is prepared in a way that will suit the Team GB Boys. If Havvy rides like he did when guesting for Eastbourne a while back then we have a good chance of challenging for top spot. Richardson, Loram, Nicholls and Norris have all had good meetings at Poole, so fingers crossed that this could be our year. -

Electrician to the pits please!

I reckon one of the Dugards punched the lights out!... -
Yeah the one with the beard and the rifle.

We know that Sweden, Australia, Poland and the Czech Republic are contesting the play offs on Thursday, so who do we think will go through? The obvious choices would be Sweden and Australia, but i think the Aussies will struggle with Shields in the Team. I'd go with Schlein if it was up to me. I wouldn't under estimate the Czechs either as both the Drymls go well at Poole as did Bo Brhel on his last visit. Track should suit the Poles as well. It's gonna be a cracker!!

Electrician to the pits please!
Lanzilla replied to pirate paul's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It was the Polish referee Billy Bunterowski. He put another pie in the microwave and overloaded the system. -
Did anyone notice the guy that looked like Bin Laden hiding in the pits at Arlington? I think it was after heat 23 or thereabouts, the camera was on a rider and there he was in the backround. I'm off to phone the Whitehouse and claim my $100,000,000.00 reward. Don't worry fellow posters....i'll send you a postcard.

So we hear tonight that Screen has made way for Havvy in the Final at Poole on Saturday. I was impressed with Screenie at Eastbourne yesterday and i feel that he may have done quite well in the Final. OK so he hasn't impressed in recent visits to Poole, but he is in confident mood right now and i would have given him the nod over Havvy by virtue of the fact that his performance on Monday played a big part in Team GB qualifying, and that Joe is a real racer and will ride every line possible. Havvy is much improved this season and goes quite well at Poole, although his last visit wasn't too convincing. I just hope that he will battle round the outside if the need arises and not continually hug the inside line. I'm not having a dig at Havvy here, he'll get my support on Saturday as will all the Brits. I just hope that he puts in a real battling performance and justifies his inclusion......I'm sure he will.

Just want to wish Middlo and the Boys all the very best for the WTC rounds. I'm sure you will do your Country proud as you did last year. Let's hope we can make it through to the Final and who knows what might happen. Would be nice if Middlo could post a message or two just as he did last year. Good luck Guys!

So would i if Poole and Eastbourne were not on the southern end of our island! Save your money and watch it on Sky like me..

Congratulations Sam....

He would have been my choice. -
Congratulations Sam....
Lanzilla replied to Presenter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought the same as Steve and couldn't figure why Sam didn't do the build up first and then the rider's name. Sam did a great job but the intro was ruined by being back to front. Fair and constructive criticism, which i'm sure Sam will put right if he gets the gig next year. -
How was your GP day??
Lanzilla replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I decided to go at the last minute and got to Yates' Wine Bar quite close to 5pm. I didn't get to meet many new forum members which was a shame but someone was telling me they thought a61 was a bit of alright. I was on the third bend with my Pirate Flag and thought the GP was superb. The track was pretty good and i thought Norris was fantastic. What a night! ps. Thanks Martin Palmer for your hospitality. -
A great night for Poole fans with four Poole riders past present and future making up the A Final.

Bjarne Pedersen Wins Danish Championship
Lanzilla replied to Tiddie Woo's topic in International World of Speedway
Early last season i thought Bjarne wouldn't make the most of his potential, but boy he has certainly kicked up a few gears now. His rostrum place in the last GP has given him great confidence and he firmly believes he can mix it with the best in the World. Congratulations Bjarne. -
My first ever meeting was at Swindon in 77 and i think it was the Arkells Trophy.I think Martin Ashby won it,but if you have the runners and riders from that meeting i would love to see it.

Cracking bit of analysis there Lioness and as you rightly say 'Dilute' is the operative word. 10 from 15 from band A/B is tough on the big name riders who lose out on a team place next season. What concerns me most is what quality of teams will we have in the Elite League next season when we have the next highest averaged rider in the team being under an 8 point average? Looking at it from a business point of view i can see that the new rules will help clubs cut costs slightly and hopefully there should be a better balance throughout the League.Matches should be a bit closer which makes for better Sky coverage. I thought they had scrapped the BLC ,but i think it will live on in the Elite League next season as quite a few heats will be of a similar standard.

Racer X you are fully entitled to your opinion on this ruling and i have to be honest and say that i hadn't taken much notice of the Premier League KO Cup last season. I'm still happy to see how it pans out next season and i'm sure that now it has been rubber stamped it is here to stay for at least another season,so why get your Knickers in a twist over it? I certainly don't have a superiority complex about the Elite League,it just happens that the club i support is in it and that's what i choose to watch. A lot of us didn't see this ruling in action last season and that's why i'm prepared to wait and see. Yes i am aware of many opinions that are against it and i respect those.I just happen to have a more open minded approach to it myself.
