Very positive. Kevin was one of the biggest surprises of the weekend. He showed a lot of heart and fought very well in the track making quite a few impressive passes. If he keeps it up, he'll be a breakthrough rider this year in 1st div. I think he and Zengota will be the two juniors in the line up for the meeting vs. Grudziadz on Sunday. Spread the word Iris, hopefully we'll now see more German fans come to watch him! 4.04.06, Zielona Gora Unia Leszno 1. Damian Baliński 9 (3,3,3) 2. Adam Kajoch 2+1 (0,2*,0) 3. Thnx Tarabanko. It's a great chance for speedway to get even more media exposure in the biggest city in Sweden. Would also be great to have Trick as a rider to get some extra hype-up for the '06 campaign (too late tho). I wonder what the attendance will be (of course depending on results) for Bajen meetings.
-
Will be interesting to see if Bajen will become a stable power-house team for years to come. Any ideas of what their budget is comparing to other Swedish teams? Where can I find the lines-ups for Eliteserien? Thnx tom

Bonnie Tyler At Cardiff
tommy replied to shortoi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Actually I was reffering to the phenomenon that is David Hasselhoff (spelling?). Germans seem to love him. -
I'm really lookin forward to my first (and hopefully not last) visit to Cardiff, going through the fixture calendar it should be a 3 days full of speedway. First the GP, next day we have the Elite pair in Swindon and on Monday Reading v. Ippo. As for pre-season meetings it doesn't look good right now. Forecasts call for a week of showers as of today ( at least in west Poland). This is tragic considering that the snow melted just a few days now the bloody rain...no end in sight

An hour....then I have to hear the whole set......Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! f-s-p, I think you'd get a lot more Germans visiting the SGP's. If this is a "has-been" festival then I nominate Boney M. for next year! -
Rybnik - Leszno meeting canceled. ZG are invited to practice on on Fri and Sat at Leszno and on Sunday have a meeting. Should warm up to over 10*C on the weekend but isolated showers also expected.

Thank god it's a pre-show gig. Unless Rico wants to go in early to get her autograph - then I'm in trouble. -
Nope, no meetings have taken place yet...Rybnik is scheduled to ride a meeting at Leszno on Sunday. Let's hope the weather holds up On other fronts, Zielona Gora are planning a weekend full of speedway along with the team presentation. Saturday April 1st vs. Wroclaw (Crump confirmed!) + Team Presentaion and on Sunday an individual torunment with most (if not all ZG riders, Walasek,Lindgren, Hamill, Davidssons, Laukkenen,etc.). April 2nd is also the annual kick-off to the season with the "Criterion of Aces" in Bydgoszcz. I'm sure more meetigns will pop-up soon as the tracks get get fairly dry.

Seems so surreal considering it's still goddamn f*$%en snowing/pissing and damn cold here. ps. can't wait tho -
If this cr@p keeps up a few teams will surely head down south....I wonder how the weather is in Krsko, Gorican, Lonigo, etc. Maybe our friends from the south can update us?
-
Iris, trouble with these meetings is that you'll never know what the line up will be, one day clubs announce riding in full squads and next thing u know it's mostly juniors riding . Best pre-season meetings should be ones in April, close to the first round of league action.

"The Wanda Affair: Part 2" - in theaters now! Wanda isn't dead yet!!! GKSZ gave Krakow's promotion 'till march 3rd to pay off a 20,000PLN fine for shutting it down mid-season last year. Apparently managment is negotiating with a potential sponsor. source: sportowefakty.pl Got my fingers crossed for Wanda!

Thnx for the info SirL, i certainly hope SGP gets back to Australia. -
Apart from my blurry vision and the drunken blabbering after a few too many pints at Chesterfields I somehow remember Henka telling us that Simon already beat him a few times during practice. It's going to be a treat seeing him in a few years on the big tracks. What the other two, Messing (brother of Andreas?) and Tornqvist?Have they had a go on a 500cc yet?

Off topic, but I'm curious to know what kind of attendance do the top speedway meetings in AUS get? I assume they're the highest during the European off-season when all top Aussie riders comeback home? -
Bad news for fans of Wanda (especially Rico and HenryW), according to unofficial news Wanda Krakow won;t start in the 2006 campaign . In it's place we'll likely see Gdansk.
