np, whereabouts is the meeting?who else is riding?

I think he's a lost cause, Klopot has shown flashes of briliance over his 10 year career but has never shown a steady level, his good meetings were always followed by bad ones. In one word: Inconsistent. It was only last year, after Zielona Gora let him go that he signed a professional contract with Gdansk (first time in his career!). I think he lacks drive to improve and always seemed to be content with being mediocre, which is a shame because he has the talent (or at least had it).I don't know maybe he can regain his confidence in Gdansk or where ever he ends up, just got to remeber he's 27 and should be in the prime of his career.

2nd liga: -Opole -Daugavpils, Latvia -Rowne, Ukraine (not official yet) -Rawicz -Pila -Lodz -Karakow -Miszkolc, Hungary (lot's of rumours that they'll join the league) -Lwow, Ukranie (possible, but very unlikely)

Rafal Okoniewski and Mariusz Staszewski are to re-sign w/ Zielona Gora today.
-
Ticket prices were the main reason for such a poor turn out. 70 zlotych for the final is a lot considering average monthly income per person in Poland is approx. 900zl.

What if club X wanted to hire rider Y from lets say,Sweden, club X would send registarion form on behalf of the rider to the employment office, on what grounds would he be refused emplyment if he's a citizen of EU?
-
If the governing body isn't willing to open up even one bit to the european market in that case I'm just waiting and hoping that a rider(es) from other EU countries will say that this is bullrubbish and take Polish authorities to EU courts (Bosman law).

Good news for "foreign riders". Polish speedway governing body voted for allowance of maximum two "foreign" riders per team in a meeting. Now just waiting on details if only GP allowed per team,if same rules for 1st/2nd div(?), etc. Going back to this format gives teams a little bit more room to manoeuver in case of injuries or other problems. Finally a good move by a GKSZ, which has been the laughing stock of Polish speedway community.

well, if this is official news I'm a bit surpised that Iversen got picked over Andersen. I think BSI "gave up" on Hans.

meeting in progress, updates HERE -
Talked to a friend of mine who is in ZG promotion and he told me Kevin has Polish citizenship, which means he could compete for a junior spot on the team and ride in numerous junior meetings.

Gorzow lost their sponsor when they failed to advance to e-liga. The club has been in financial disarray for the last five years. At the beginning of 2005 campaign a local businessman (who owns a chain of electronics shops called, "Mars"' ) declared he'd invest 170,000GBP and the management would have find the rest to balance the budget (approx. 500,000GBP budget). But there was an ultimatum, either the team advances to e-liga or else....The problem was that Mars and the team management started setting goals (advance to e-liga and in 2006 e-liga championship!!!) for the team before the season even started and since the team was financially stable anything short of an advance was unacceptable. Forgetting this is just sports the team failed to advance and all those propaganda-like rumblings fell through. Two weeks ago Mars filed for bankruptcy and protection from its creditors. The company is over 22 million GBP in debt. On thursday the authorities were called in to Mars' distribution centre where two trucks were filled with electronics ready to leave the warehouse. Prosecutors have filed a charge against the businessman who tried to ship out the equipment worth 1.5 million GBP,which is an asset of his creditors. The team is close to 1 million GBP in debt and will likely file for bankruptcy and that means an automatic relegation to 2nd div. Iris, if you want to see some decent speedway come to Zielona Gora, we should have a young and exciting team next season.

good thing I didn't put any money on the attendance stats ...Ostrow stadium looked like a sight of a 2nd div. battle of two basement teams I'm sure the outcome would have been in favour of Ostrow side if it wasn't for the absence of Wegrzyk and a crucial 14th heat where Dryml touched the tape. Should be a relatively easy win for Gdansk at home on Sunday. -

Ostrow stadium doesn't have floodlights + Poland play in Englad today. My prediction is the attendance will be around 6000-7000 due to the spring-like weather we have in Poland at the moment. -

Governing body of Polish speedway will decide, as both teams can't agree on a new date. Meeting was scheduled for Oct 9th, but Ostrow rider Michal Szczepaniak is taking part in the Individual european final @ Lonigo the same day. -
