From the Engineering Work and Timetable Changes Circular Number 10, Saturday 3 to Friday 9 June 2006: Table 130 AW Services Only Engineering work will be taking place at Cardiff Central from 1500 Saturday afternoon. A special service will run on the Cardiff Valleys network all day Saturday. Passengers are advised to check posters at local stations prior to travelling or check the ATW website. Now i'm not defending ATW or FGW, just giving a reason. Obviously their customer service and communication could have been better, but its easy to be wise after the event. If you feel strongly agrieved I suggest you write to either First Great Western or Arriva Trains Wales, but I doubt it will get you anywhere as they have technically done nothing wrong. And please bear in mind that sometimes these engineering works are planned and executed at very short notice - and regretablly there will be times when they clsh with major(ish) events.

I've got some time off work next month and I thought i'd treat myself to an Elitserien match just for the hell of it. I was thinking of going to the Vargana - Luxo match on the 20th. As i understand it, Varagana are based at Norrkoping?? So i was planning on flying into S'holm Skavsta which is at Nykoping and getting the train to Norrkoping. Beyond that I need some advice as to how to get to the track, as I can't find any on Vargarna's website and my Swedish is a bit lacking. Any hints on reasonably inexpensive hotels also welcome!

The short answer is you can do most of it by train, but it takes a while as you probably need to go via Berlin, Hamburg and Copenhagen. You could also take a ferry Gdansk - Nynashamn (for Stockholm). If you want full details Bob, then send me a PM with dates and times etc and i'll see what I can put together itinerary wise. EDIT 1: It takes at least 24 hours. And as far as I can tell, Malilla's closest station is at Hultsfred which is a few kms away.

Kevin, am I right in thinking that in the Swedish EL, they are allowed a number 8 who has to be under 21 and can be used as a reserve at any time? Effectively giving them 3 reserves?
