I guess if it has to be explained then you think there is nothing wrong with having one of the top 16 riders in the world replace a rider not currently at the same level as them! So Nick Morris is "too good" to ride in the same team as Doyley but better quality riders from the SGP can - and you can't see the madness?
-
Are you picking names out of a hat?
-
That would be sensible - then wanted riders aren't forced out of work
-
I'm pretty sure Newman isn't an asset
-
Who in their right mind would want to sign THJ? A complete dud and definitely on the downward slope of his career/talent
-
So all that cr@p around the playoffs about Adam signing for Poole was a load of hot air - what a surprise - NOT!
-
Dropped through choice or otherwise, it won't happen. You can get MC permission - the same ones who voted for the one 8 pointer (at least the chairman - who continues his anti-Aussie stance )
-
Except that you can't re-introduce a dropped rider from the previous season
-
I didn't say he was poor - I said he was not as good away. Whether poor or not I would be surprised if any team wanted him as their number 1 with an 8+ average.
-
I don't have an anti-Poole agenda (I even disagreed with orion yesterday when he said he thought Poole was at the root of this rule). I didn't mention Poole because I was talking about riders that were riding for their teams last season. I would refer you to hyabb17's post #180 above.
-
We know that but as your promotion voted to have only one per team, surely the were thinking of signing them - or were they just putting them out of work??
-
So where is your 8 point rider? Your promotion voted to have a limit of one 8 pointer per team to share them around so obviously they are going to sign one that is being released! Or was the rule just to screw Wolves, Swindon and BV from having an advantage in heats 13 and 15?
-
If Poole go with Brady which seems likely then they can't have another 8 point rider and surely it wouldn't be a Dane either. If they did decide to go with NKI for example rather than Brady - what then happens to Brady? A year in the championship?
-
The one 8 pointer rule has been brought in to share the top riders around. Let's say that Swindon go with Doyle and Wolves go with Lindgren. What other team is going to sign Thorsell - who is great around Monmore Green and not so good elsewhere (and coming back from serious injury)? What team is going to sign Morris - who has a high average from not riding at number 1? So far from sharing riders around it ensures that at least 2 of the top riders will probably not ride in the Premiership next year - which makes me very angry. So Morris' reward for having a fantastic season - he will have to ride in the Championship for the season unless one of the big stars are injured and he gets the call. Total madness when you think that Swindon would almost certainly build a team around Doyle and Morris!
-
Agree - except the bit about Poole - It was done by majority. Some brown envelopes (or bricks) may have been exchanged but that would just be speculating.

Out fishing? Some things never change
-
Because he is an attention seeking troll!
-
His average is lower, he is improving, he was the club's rider of the year last year. As I said previously both are good and I would personally go with Nick rather than Doyle but wouldn't be upset either way because both are excellent. Its just a shame that one has to go and of course it would be great to have the world champion in the team.
-
Yet again the BSPA show the world that they are a bunch of incompetent buffoons. All the talk has been to have fixed race nights so that the top stars can potentially be enticed back and then they go and say only one 8 pointer in the team - you couldn't make it up. Totally reeks of self-interest - especially with Wednesday being selected as one of the fixed nights - when the Danish league runs. And what about progress - let's all go back to the old TS rule. grrr They couldn't have made a worse job of it if they tried.
-
I'm glad you are finding it funny I know Doyle would have been back to back World Champion and it is a very difficult decision to make but I think a lot of fans would like to keep Nick and see him continue his progress. I would be happy with either and obviously would prefer both but I would still go for Nick over Doyle - and not because I think he is better.
-
For me - its a no brainer between Doyle and Nick - it has to be Nick and Doyle to KL
-
Really disappointed that we can't have both Doyle and Morris in the team because of the one 8 pointer rule
-
They were cannon fodder for years because they kept putting together poor teams, lowering the points limit, poor team, lowering points limit etc on the basis that they couldn't make it pay. Now they can apparently with potentially the most expensive rider in the league. I would be very happy if Ipswich stayed where they are in the second tier too!
-
That's the same Ipswich who for years dragged down the quality of the EL before they finally jumped ship down to the second tier. Now rumoured to be coming back up with no less than the world champion leading them - I certainly hope not!
