  1. Treloar Triumphs Title 007 2007 Rising Sun Honda Australian Speedway Sidecar Championship Night Two Darrin Treloar/Justin Plaisted continue their reign as Australian Speedway Sidecar Champions, defending their 2006 title in a deja’ vu performance, the final with riders in starting order were: Treloar, Moon, Parker and Christopher, required a restart after a first lap incident halfway down the back straight where all 4 riders attempted to approach the entrance to turn 3 four abreast, resulting in Ronny Parker being spat out the back loosing his passenger (Shane Rudloff) and Justin Plaisted coming adrift from Darrin but retaining a vice like grip on the back as if riding a bucking bull at a rodeo. The red light came on and there was a hush until the announcement was made, all four back in. Take Two All four charged into turns one and two with Treloar a slight leader with Moon up high, Christopher looking on the low line and Parker having half a loose and ending all his chances of winning. Treloar edged ever so slightly away as Moon and Christopher fought hard over second place and Parker trying vainly to make up the lost ground. Moon broke clear from Christopher with just over a lap to go and set sail for Treloar, making up a fair bit of ground in the closing stages, with Parker closing up to Christopher on the final corner, however Treloar and Plaisted proved worthy winners, being highest point scorers from the heats, Moon and Duane Dennis a hard charging second, with the Christopher/Koppe combination taking the final podium position. The Start of the night, was marred by what appeared to be a over watered track, which resulted in Mick Headland while leading on the first lap of the first heat flipping his outfit in turn 4, you might say it’s bad luck being the first heat out, but at a National title the track should be ready to go from the start, as it had been at the previous two meetings held at Pioneer Park. Maybe the referee should have ordered a track grade after Headlands flip, instead of waiting until the interval after three rounds of heats. With the heavy track early, racing was pretty pedestrian, making it hard to come from behind, tho Treloar came from the rear in his first heat with a questionable pass on the inside of Christopher, as was a incident in the previous heat with Aldridge and Bottrell. Once the track was graded the racing became sensational, with riders being able to use the entire track in the final 2 rounds of heats. Headland would have to be considered unlucky with eight points, following his first heat demise while leading. Disappointment of the night would have to be the performance of Steve Taylor, following the hoo ha raised from down south when named as a reserve for the 2006 Nth Qld Masters, his form justified the selectors choice. Surprise of the weekend was the form of 55-year-old Ronny Parker, great to see an old stager mixing it with the countries best Professional Presentation by most of the 36 teams has to be commended and should make for great TV exposure when aired. __________________ Write it as you see it www.freewebs.com/freerlance/

  4. I am Stuck In Adelaide but results will be Texted to me and I will put them on here . Press release; The popularity of the Pioneer Park venue has been recognised by Motorcycle Australia in allowing an expanded qualifying series for the 2007 Australian Sidecar Championships. A Total of 36 outfits had nominated for the Championship to be run over Easter Saturday and Sunday at Pioneer Park. Normally there would be a 16 bike plus 2 reserves competing on the Qualifying night for the spots available to unseeded riders in the final. This year in what can be claimed to be the Biggest Speedway Sidecar meeting in the World, Pioneer Park promoters Richard and Michelle Ryan have negotiated with MA that their be 2 x 13 bike formats plus 2 reserves for each format. This means no riders will miss out on being a part of the titles. There will be 10 Finals spots and 2 reserves spots up for grabs with the top five from each draw qualifying and the 2 sixth places becoming the reserves for the main meeting. There will be 6 seeded riders Darren Treloar the Current Australian Champion and New South Wales Champion, Gary Moon current Queensland Champion, Byren Gates the highest home placegetter at the Victorian Titles, Mick Headland the highest placed home placegetter at the South Australian Titles, Scott Christopher the Highest Qualified Australian at the World Titles, and Grant Bond of New South Wales who ran second to Darren Treloar. There will be a total of $28,000 in prizemoney up for grabs which will make it by far the biggest prizemoney event for Sidecars also in Australia. With all nominated bikes now getting a chance at qualifying for the final the way is made open for some of the lesser lights to have a shot at the Title. In all 11 Sidecars from throughout Queensland have nominated for the event which will give some the opportunity to measure their skills and expertise against some much travelled and highly experienced teams. Richard Ryan said "We would like to thank Motorcycle Australia for allowing us to promote and encourage the Sidecar fraternity with this expanded format of qualifying" "This will be the biggest Sidecar meeting staged here in Australia and in the World and Pioneer Park is happy to be the venue" "We really hope that the Speedway fans from throughout the North support the event as they should be in for some top shelf racing" Practise for the event will be held on Thursday the 6th of April, Qualifying night will be Saturday 8th of April with the final on Sunday night 9th of April. There will be a street parade through the main street of Ayr on Saturday morning prior to the Qualifying meeting that night.
  5. He is certainly the King of Port Adelaide now! But he did sustain an injury. Some how he managed to tear the thumbnail clean of his thumb.
  6. There was a good 2 page explanation of the Title night in the gillman programe I will scan it if anyone wants a copy pm me with your e-mail address. Ps Ronnie Parker won the Gillman Sidecar Championship tonight. No Solos they are all in UK! BFD my misses reckons I should have my mobile firmly inserted into a very unpleasent oriface so I dont loose it!
  7. Qoute;Had to add a few words in defence of Batchelor, i suggest that if the ref had of listened to what he was saying, I CHOSE GATE FOUR, and allowed him to start there it wouldnt have taken so long to get started. I Totally agree with you and Troy had the right to pick the gate and stand up for his rights. I think like most of us we were whatching Gathercole fall and pick his bike up and missed the start of the Holder Batchelor fall.
  8. The meeting had just the right mix of Dramas; waiting for an Ambo crowd getting restless, Before the start someone got stung by a bee in the pits; Tom meeting the turn 4 fence.(he was my dark horse for the final) Top racing and plenty of passing Great track 2 meetings in 2 days of over 40 c temps and very little dust. Referees out on the track talking (loudly) to Troy about gate positions. Troy at one stage started taking his kevars off and storming off. Race held up more "talking" Troy comes back out bikes refulled then the final; The Final falls/ restarts; in the final Holder was Lucky IMO not to be judged the cause of the stoppage as Gathercole fell but was up and leaving the track when Holder and Batchelor went down. All in Restart Then Gathercole down again whilst leading how the other three missed him I dont know! He did the right thing and got up pushed his bike of the track then spent the rest of the race stroming around the infield throwing helmets ect poor lad his time will come! Troy at the end of it was very emotional and diddnt do himself any favors. But it was good to see some emotion from the riders where the senior riders are all very calm! Like to hear howards version, but thats the way I saw it . Oh yes and the Bundy was cold! Bought one for you BFD but Lunchy drank it !
  9. Tom is ok he got up was taken to the medic room but he fronted for his next race did a practice start but pulled infield before the start and did not come out again. Seemed to to be bike problems . Overall a top nights racing better than the Senior Title! Batchelor did not do himself any good going on at the end of the night about how politics ruined his night .
  10. Hi Lunchy I catch up with you at Gillman. Are you definatlely Texeting results ? If so I wont bother no need to double up! More time to drink (water of course just comes in a black and yellow can!) Its going to be HOT 40 C. Cheers Rod PS Unfortunatley Mark Jones has been very disapointing at local Gillman meetings dont know why?
  11. Different race meeting SA State Title: Rider A (Tom Hedley) in front drifts wide only 2 meters of the pole line turn 3 rider B sees an opening and does a slide job but picks up drive, front wheel in the air. Tom saw this front wheel heading for him backs off to avoid getting hit. Rider b out of control almost hits turn 4 fence but continues on to win Tom Hedly almost stops but recovers to finish last. Results stand 1 guess the motto of the story is dont back off LOL! ( if Tom had won that race he would have been in the final)
  12. A wet wild windy night at the speedway" Final 4 finshing order. Rory Schliein 23333=14 Chris Holder 33332=14 Cory Gathercole 22233=12 Robert Ksiezak 23123=10 Aaron Summers 12321=9 Trevor Harding 02223=9 Tom Hedley 13302=9 Matt Wethers 312 dnf 2=8 Cam Woodward 3 dnf 131 =8 Tyron Procktor 12121=7 James Holder 31011=6 Ario Bugeja 20012=5 Elliot Myers 01210=3 Brock Gates 01 fell dnf dns=1 Ben Walsh //1/dnf/=1 Brendan Mackay 1 fell taken to Hospital chest pains Overall a good night in tricky conditions 50 mill of rain in 24 hours but the track was good slick and slow but all the track was usable some of the less experianced riders wisley took it easy or struggled with the conditions but all the top guys raced hard with plenty of passing . Highlights Heat 4 Holder gated 1st with Hedley then Schliein Hedley around the outside for the lead then Shliein around them both and so on. finishing order Holder Shliein Hedly Heat 5 Harding and Ksiezak side by side 3 laps Ksiezack winning. Heat 6 Brock Gates 3rd crossed up a bit in front of Brendon Mackay whos front wheel lifted and hit Gates both riders and bikes into the turn 2 fence Mackay off to Hospital chest pains. Brock Gates remounted for the restart but struggled as he did for the rest of the night. He had a couple more falls at the back of the pack. Heat 13 Another race where they swapped positions Wethers out in front lost chain and locked up the back end of the bike dnf. Schliein winning. Heat 15 Tom Hedley in front and looking good Woodwood did a slide job on him and lifted the front wheel Hedley backed off, he would have been in the fence if he did not Woodwwood through Hedley by the time he recoved was last! Thought the ref may have intervined on this one but the result stands . Heat 20 Woodwood whilst leading Schliein fell remounted to just get 3rd Schliein won. Final Top Race Holder out gated Schlienin but took a mid track line into truns 3-4 Schiein underneath him and gone to win easy in the end. Overall a top nights racing by the boys in difficult conditions . Rorys 4th SA Title well done. Good on Gillman to for all the work they did so the meeting could go ahead.
  13. Hi Lunchy hope your taking it easy! Same situation for Gillman the forcast says 55 mil of rain for Sat if that happens everywhere will flood because the grounds so hard . Ah well the forcast has been wrong before so we will have to wait and see! Cheers Rod
