  5. Quote from the Gillman web site; Arthur Sissis has replaced the injured Taylor Poole as one of the seeded riders for the 2008 Australian Under 16 Solo Championship. 12 year old Arthur will give a few of them a shake!
  6. Thanks for all the kind comments LOL We do make a strange trio but I am the Good looking sensible one! BFD dont know if you have access to a computor or are still with Howard, but I am stuck home wednesday night if the radio coverage goes down I am avalible to post texts on here or yahoo as i think Ron and co will be there. Will ring you later tonight if you have finished with Inga poor girl!
  7. The fence at Mildura is wooden Gillman has a rubber fence.
  8. Top night all around apart from travis falling, I can report BFD Howard and the Travel Pluss tours people all had a good time. Aronn Sommers was a local South Aussie lad that rode well a full season in the UK will do him the world of good. Some pics from the Gillman racing are up on http://forum.australianspeedway.com/
  9. Just going to constantly update my original point score post!
  10. Please remmber not 100% sure if any one can correct it I would be happy! And I am only 400Kms away!

  12. Too many people trying to log on! Now if you all log off then I could listen to it LOL Thank God for Howard guess I will buy him a beer at Gillman!
  13. quote; yeah me old man just said that sidecars will be running that's a bit of a bummer! That could be the Junior sidecars, (but there isn't any in this state to my knowledge) as no other racing is allowed on the main track during the Title meeting. The junior sidecars will be at the Side car title at Easter the Glen Obrien Cup I think But these days who knows!
  14. Yes iris123 the UK Sidecar teams have come and gone. And for your interest they got paid nothing for coming over here. And some have shown Interest in coming over again for the Aust Title in Easter 2008 Its called doing it for the love of the sport. I do doubt if any will because the cost to get a team and bike over here is huge.
  15. Qotue; BFD As it is the Ozchamps format of 5 meetings over two weeks enables far-flung fans like myself, Lunchy, Ozyace, Spiderweb, Ron & Gavin et al, all from different bits of Oz, to catch up, see a bit of the countryside ; End Quote; I have struggled with the field with this years Title, yes I would love to see a field of all the top Aussies I can almost make a full line up with the riders that are not riding! I can see the need to bolster the existing Aussie field with a few imports and the Aussie youngsters have several good rides coming up Under 21 s and state titles ect Yes maybe the powers to be could have Helped some of the top Aussie UK based riders to get over here but 5 rounds all over the country very expensive and draining just try following them and spectating ! As a foot note a couple of the UK Sidecar teams are keen to ride in the Aust Sidecar Title and will have to ride in the qualifying round and qualify to get in they have accepted that decision with no problems! That shows true love and dedication to the sport would Screeny do that? Anyway all the usual suspects will be there and who ever wins will deserve the Title!
  16. Yes get well soon buddy I was there and it looked nasty. Your only young and I think there are plenty more Aussie Titles for you.
  17. I behaved myself at Mildura and Gillman Diddnt I? Its to hard to recover these days! We will have to pick a spot at Wayville to all catch up> Cheers Rod
  18. Hopefully Mick stayed away from the Bar, don't want a repeat of his last trip to Darwin!! http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/not...4802889863.html G day BFD, $2500 for a night out in a Darwin strip club thats cheap! LOL PS do the pubs still have strip lunches? AHH The memories. A little birdy tells me you may be making the trip down south for the Gold Cup?
  19. This should keep you up to date! http://www.gillmanspeedway.com/ http://www.pioneerpark.homestead.com/ http://www.milduramotorcycleclub.org.au/ http://www.saspeedway.info/index.htm Great site for history pics ect http://vintagespeedway.homestead.com/
  20. Quote; Great, at this rate I won't bother doing the Oz titles if its half filled with Europeans out here for a summer holiday. End Quote; Totally agree Lunchy. How about we go back to one huge meeting for the Aussie Title with only Aussies in it , run at some sort of showground like Wayville or the Brissy or Sydney Showgrounds . The likes of Crump and Adams would be more likly to commit to it Then run an International series for overseas riders that want a working holiday and up and comers that want the experience! Ah well I know i will see you at Milly . Ps Dont forget to bring a torch!
  21. Sorry about that thanks for setting me straight. Seems like a rider with a future, I think if we are going to have imports in the Title then youth is the way to go .
  22. Just heard this young polish rider has signed up for the Aussie Title I know he got 7th in the world under 21. Have heard he is a bit of a showman anyone got anymore info?
  23. Hi Lunchy thought I would throw this up as well only 4 & half hours from Mildura! Cheers Rod. Hey are the Munros you guys are talking about, related to Niel Munro from Adelaide? From the Gillman website [2007-2008 Race Calendar Oct 20 Bill Wigzell Tribute Meeting "Classic" Solo and Sidecar Championship Nov 3 Solo / Sidecars Nov 17 Sidecar Invitation Masters Round 1 Aust #1 Treloar, Aust #2 Moon, Aust #3 Christopher, Aust #4 Parker Dec 1 Jack Young Cup Dec 15 X-mas meeting Jan 2 Linddales Labour Hire Australian Solo Championship Round 2 Jan 19 SA Solo Championship Feb 2 Stars of Tomorrow solo and sidecar Feb 16 SA Sidecar Championship March 1 Gillman Sidecar Championship March 15 Sidecar Invitation Masters Round 2 March 19 Australian Sidecar Championship Practice March 20 Australian Sidecar Championship Qualification Round
  24. Yes I do agree it should be a showcase of Aussie talent and to give the young guns a chance to showcase the talent. Who knows there may even be a show man in the new breed comming through!
