Speedway World Cup 2017
SPEEDY69 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Bit unfair on old Frank - was the first I remember to knock Tyson on his backside and could easily have won that, so think he did deserve the chances he got. I thought the final had a few good races but many didn't. As expected Poland were dominant by the end although Lindback did really well to keep Sweden in it. GB did as expected really. Riding on that track gives a great advantage, just as riding at Lakeside may not favour the Poles. Horses for courses but it doesn't make the GB boys bad riders, just had a worse set up - which really shows on a big track and not enough experience to adapt quickly enough. I expect Poland to continue to dominate events in their own country and they have a good crop of young riders - but if Doyle does the business in the Grand Prix this year they will still have only produced two world champions which says something about their ability on tracks outside of PL. The best team won, I'm not disappointed with the Brits as they did their best, Steve Worrall the best of them, roll on next year. -
Sent a tweet to BSPA, all these team changes are farcical. Under current rules, it really doesn't matter who's in the team at the start of the season and a rider could end up having ridden for multiple teams over the season. It's no wonder there's dwindling loyalty from riders nowadays and there's none from most promoters any more. Perks has been very poorly treated - I only hope they got him lined up elsewhere before they made the changes.

Speedway World Cup 2017

Yes, GB will win this i reckon. They never describe a hairline fracture as a hairline break, i knew it was broken, my bad. When my wrist broke the bone popped the skin and no way i could ride. GB to win. -

If you've ever had both then you'd know there's a huge difference pain and mobility wise between a hairline fracture and a larger break. -

Saturday will be a dry day so no worries on the track. -

Did he? Oh well, can't be broken then. Maybe just a hairline fracture of a smaller bone. -

If Lambert has broken his wrist, when will he be able to test if he can ride or not? -
I see what you're saying as they are different - lower down I think and it gave a different view of the Poole track. I got to like it at the end as it was almost like the view from the terraces.

Averages should remain fixed for the season and only adjusted at the end. It might stop all this messing about and conspiracy theories. A team near the top shouldn't be able to strenghten. Wow, what a bumpy track poole has become. -
New Averages For 42 Point Limit
SPEEDY69 replied to DunRobin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely the logical thing to do is make averages last for the season and they only change for the start of the next year. Why wouldn't that work? Might save all this messing about and conspiracy theories. -
The longtrack meeting is not even today, blimey years ago riders would have to drive through the night to ride abroad, how things change. Is Sarjeant really the best they could do? Must've known about this a while ago but didn't want the public to know. Shame.

What difference few weeks make. Tungate was No1 at another club and now he's just a second string. Averages should last the season.

Were all the Aces fans calling for JS to go - and I don't mean armchair fans? (this is just an example and I'm not a JS or Aces fan)
-
I know but I'm talking about the teams who start the year where the riders sign a contract for the season - they are not the ones deciding to step down in this case, the club makes that decision for them.

I mainly follow team speedway in the top league in the UK. I was thinking of one thing I don't enjoy and that is the unforced changes in line-ups. Now I realise this is controversial and I may be on my own but I used to like following a team and its ups and downs over a season and the anticipation over who signed who in the off season. Now that's almost irrelevant as teams replace riders all through the season. We've seen teams win the title by changing riders right at the end - this for me makes many of the early encounters rather meaningless and devalues it. Would Wolves be where they are now with the same team they started with? No, but Leicester and Somerset may be nearer to them. Is there really much evidence to suggest this constant search for better riders improves crowd levels? Or is it the way of things these days? Sedgeman must feel a little hard done by right now.

Have those vile people who have committed the attacks brought there weapons in in bags? At least two drove vehicles into people and concealed knives on their person, the latest one overseas had a bomb strapped to his chest. Searching bags is not enough, nor the primary MO. -
Was certainly a bad crash but still nothing like as dirty as I've seen some when they go right to the fence - in the old days the guy on the outside would shut off knowing the gap would close. He must have known Emil was there because he didn't go right to the fence and in fact moved away from it but it was enough to cause the crash. I'm not convinced it was deliberate move to knock him off. Now Ben Howe on Ronni Pedersen at Peterborough is a different story, as were some of the Gollob and NP moves.
-
Doyle is no stranger to hard/dirty riding. I didn't really see that Miedzinski did anything wrong in the first one, Doyle bailed out to get the rerun. In the rerun Doyle lifted and turned in later than you'd expect - if he hadn't a collision may have been avoided but I don't think there was anything malicious in that one from either of them, just a racing incident when two came together. Can't comment on Miedzinski's other misdemeanours as I don't recall seeing them. There is a difference between hard and dirty riding and certainly Doyle oversteps in my view on occasion, as did Lindgren before him, NP and Gollob before that.

Grand Prix Challenge 2017

How is it a wild card then if he's just the next in line to fill the spot? Who finished 8th in the other qualifier? (think I may have just answered my first question -

He probably didn't want one - maybe the shame of possibly not getting through on home turf? How on earth MJJ gets in there I don't know but I don't agree with wildcards at all so I guess it makes no odds to me. -
