Newcastle Vs Redcar 26 April
dantodan replied to bri1966's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes rain offs are bad financially and our last match against Scunny wasn't supported very well, we need George to win the lottery to keep us going in the 21st century So go on george use the profits an buy hundreds of lottery tickets! Looks likely that Robbo will be at the track - in the rain - on Sunday riding or helping the Bears I hope he scores well if he makes his comeback but the rest of the Bears have an off-night. Newcastle need good home wins to make the uncommitted fans come back week after week. Early doors I know but is Simon Neilson riding better than last year?? If I am right he could be a dark horse match winner for us, as could Christian Henry, he has been really flying so far. -

Newcastle 1. Steve Worrall 2. Christian Henry 3. Lewis Kerr 4. Anton Rosen 5. Ludvig Lindgren 6. Simon Nielsen 7. Lewis Rose Can a Redcar fan supply the likely Bears line up for Sundays match. As a Newcastle and northern speedway fan I hope Redcar get over their unrest with their promotion and support the team to prevent any more talk of Redcar closing down. We need all of the northern centres to keep going. Newcastle love to dish out defeats to the bears... Hi White Knight.. What has happened to the Sunderland Speedway website. I had a look for it but couldn't find it. I care about the memory of the Saints/Stars/Gladiators If you and Bob want me to start it up again I will do it for you for next to nowt just to keep the name alive. send me a pm if you want to resurrect the Sunderland name -

Hi Bri, Yep I always check if anyone has started a thread for Newcastle home or away. So you beat me eh!! spoiled my max mate!! I challenge you to start the most threads but not weeks in advance eh? After just two home matches we are looking pretty solid at home and Redcar look suspect so I agree a comfortable home win for the Diamonds but you never know with speedway.. Looking forward to seeing Lasse Bjerre at Brough, he will spoil all the home riders maximum ambitions I think. -
Just thawed out from my visit to my usual vantage point along the end by the fourth bend. There is no glass in the window frames at that end of the grandstand and the faithful all stood there in hoods and hats as the wind blew icy blasts at us. The action on the track was pretty hot though. My Favourite Ludde was top class entertainment. I also respect Christian Henry and was happy that he did so well. If the entire team have a good match at the same time someone will get thumped. I like Roy's nickname for Christian..The Boomerang. As we all know Henry keeps coming back to Newcastle and rarely lets the team down I thought the track was quite good but was a little puzzled by the blade coming out! But hey what do I know about track prep. The times were a little slow apart from a couple below 64 seconds so maybe it is not yet in top shape

Newcastle 1. Steve Worrall 2. Christian Henry 3. Lewis Kerr 4. Anton Rosen 5. Ludvig Lindgren 6. Simon Nielsen 7. Lewis Rose Scunthorpe 1. David Howe 2. Theo Pijper 3. Alex Davies 4. Carl Wilkinson 5. Josh Auty 6. Ellis Perks 7. Nike Lunna Could Newcastle be going for the double over Scunthorpe? We struggled at Sheffield on Thursday being soundly beaten by the Tigers. Another away win at EWR tonight (Friday) would be the best response to us losing at Owlerton.
-
I always expect Newcastle to win away home or away! I am an optimist. However if we get beat then best wishes to Scunthorpe and I hope the Diamonds are entertaining and worthy of the admission money. I am looking forward to seeing Scunthorpe at Brough on Sunday 19th in Particular David Howe, Carl Wilkinson and Josh Auty who always entertain at Brough.

Rose is back from injury. The Diamonds riders averages are not bad at all and are better than the Tigers apart from Simond Steads who at close to 10pts should notch another max against my team. However, as a realist I think Sheffield will win this but who knows maybe our team of second strings will surprise the Owlerton faithful and me too! Go on Ludde and the lads

Scunthorpe 1. David Howe 2. Theo Pijper 3. Alex Davies 4. Carl Wilkinson 5. Josh Auty 6. Ellis Perks 7. Nike Lunna Newcastle 1. Steve Worrall 2. Christian Henry 3. Lewis Kerr 4. Anton Rosen 5. Ludvig Lindgren 6. Simon Nielsen 7. Lewis Rose Newcastle are not the strongest looking side in the PL but are a team capable of a 3-3 in every heat. A good match in prospect with the result difficult to forecast. The Diamonds will be unpredictable but so will the home team. As a Newcastle man asked for a prediction I will always go for my team but maybe our lack of a proven number 1 will find us wanting against David Howe and Josh Auty in heats 13 and 15. Newcastles main pair are Lewis Kerr and Anton Rosen if Scunthorpe cannot stop them then Newcastle could win. If Lewis and Anton are stopped by Scunthorpe then it will be a home win.

Is Daniel King To Good To Be In This League?
dantodan replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Danny rode his heart out for Newcastle in 2014. He is good but no better than quite a few other PL riders, leave him alone. He is a draw card and may bring a few more through the turnstiles at away matches -
Yes Chewbacca not looking for a win at Owlerton but Newcastle have a team that can surprise, so if I had a few quid to waste on Newcastle each way I would bet it. We have no-one capable of heading Simon Stead but can string together some 3-3 heats. I think the diamonds are up against the Tigers and the Owlerton track. But who knows! I hope Newcastle entertain the Tigers fans regardless of the result.

Newcastle v Sheffield 12th April was rained off so there are no indicators of how the two sets of riders may go in this encounter! Sheffield Simon Stead Ashley Birks David Bellego Ty Proctor Andre Compton Josh Bates Arthur Sissis Newcastle Steve Worrall Christian Henry Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen Ludde Lindgren Simon Neilsen Lewis Rose Diamonds teams over the years have been unhappy at Owlerton. Will the current 7 Diamonds roll over pointless on the big Sheffield track. I hope not.
-
The Diamonds were firing on all cylinders down at Redcar on Thursday. The team must keep this going against Sheffield on Sunday Newcastle Steve Worrall Christian Henry Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen Ludde Lindgren Simon Neilsen Lewis Rose Sheffield Simon Stead Ashley Birks David Bellego Ty Proctor Andre Compton Josh Bates Arthur Sissis

Redcar Lasse Bjerre Stuart Robson Matej Kus Hugh Skidmore Jan Graversen Rafal Konopka Ben Morley Newcastle Steve Worrall Christian Henry Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen Ludvig Lindgren Simon Nielsen Lewis Rose If you know anything of injuries to any of the riders listed above please let us know. Newcastle's Worrall, Kerr & Lindgren were in brilliant form at Brough Park on Sunday 5th so the diamonds should be up for this league cup match
-
Lewi Kerr is injured following a crash whilst riding for Kings Lynn. He took a knock to the head so is out of the weekend Workington matches. This has weakened the Diamonds side as we will be using R/R (I believe). I can see the comets giving us a stern test at Brough. We need a couple of riders into double figures otherwise we will find the comets too strong for us
-
Yeah agreed Arson but the result is the same. After Sundays postponement I am looking forward to us getting off the starting blocks even though the Comets are stronger than the Bandits so it will be an even tougher opener The Diamonds need at least one rider notching up heat wins in every match. Maybe Steve can do it? He had 2 wins at Berwick..If I were a gambler I would put my shirt on Lewis Rose coming good but I feel that it will be a few weeks into our fixtures when he settles into the groove. Even though I think we have one of the weakest teams in the PL I am looking forward to the lads proving me wrong. if we struggle we will see some last heat deciders and they are always exciting matches although I would be happier with 60 points at home every week!!!!
-
I am happy for our riders to be part of Elite League teams but how often are they injured and miss our fixtures. I know the boot can be on the other foot and he could have taken the knock riding for us. Its an occupational hazard but hard to bear for the riders other team. Enjoy your enforced absence Lewi I hope you don't suffer any lasting problems. R/R will give our riders another 8 heats of practise between them before our League Cup campaign starts.

Workington 1. Kenneth Hansen 2. Ricky Wells 3. Rene Bach 4. Rusty Harrison 5. Kyle Howarth 6. Nicki Barrett 7. Nathan Greaves Newcastle Steve Worrall Christian Henry Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen Ludvig Lindgren Lewis Rose Simon Neilsen On paper the comets are the stronger side and look likely winners of this first leg. Is Kenneth Hansen injured and will he feature in the match?
