Who told Stuha he had to write a hundred lines and more worrying he can only count to five 1. Not yet confirmed 2. Not yet confirmed 3. Ludvig Lindgren 4. Anton Rosen 5. Lewis Kerr 6. Not yet confirmed 7 Lewis Rose Roy will be happy to announce in Red and Blue we have the TurnipTwins again. My line up is not in any particular order. I am happy to be able to watch Ludde again in 2015. His outside overtakes are breathtaking but hey come on man get some gating lessons. With Anton we will have to see what difference a year makes. I think he will always score points home and away and hopefully we will be taking back a better rider?

Yeah me too

Robert Lambert has just agreed to join Peterborough so no go there then.
-
Has anyone noticed whether Robert Lambert has signed up yet to a 2015 PL team? Well I haven't either. The lad was earmarked for Newcastle in 2014 but it all fell through. I would like to see him at Brough in 2015.
-
I think Ludde is a canny lad too and that is enuff to want him back. He's bloody great at overtaking just wish he would get more points away from home but nah he is so entertaining at home we need him to entertain us at Brough don't we

Hi All, Some of you will know already that I do the following website: - www.defunctspeedway.co.uk The website has an A-Z of defunct tracks. Most of the alphabet within the A-Z has entries now but J K Q U V X and Z have no entries. I would like to cover any of these letters (Yeah I know teams starting with an X or Z are as rare as hen's teeth) but you never know! Send me an email if you have info or pics from a track name starting with the initial J K Q U V X or Z email jskinner06@btinternet.com

So the one guy above all the others that we wanted back ie Lewi Kerr is coming back next year, great news for us all and I hope Lewi has a great year to put on his CV on the way to being an automatic choice for England. We now need to sign a number 1 rider IMO as a priority as they are going like hot cakes. Failing a top rider I suppose the strength in depth we have had for a few years has served us quite well
-
The longer we go without announcing a signing the more doubt I have that Lewi will come back to us in 2015 the other Lewis has signed up already but the silence on Mr Kerr and our other riders re-signing is a bit worrying. Major changes have been forced on our promoters by Robbo and Danny wanting away. I notice Lasse Bjerre has moved to Redcar so another rider I would have been happy for us to sign is now out of the equation. Good luck Lasse and the available list shrinks again Personally I would welcome any rider who can gate well. Something we are often short of! Hopefully we will make some signings this side of xmas.
-
We operate in the Premier League and as so we have second division standard riders. Higher standard riders are in the Elite league. Ludvig bless his little cotton socks is not of Elite League stature otherwise we wouldn't be seeing him in the Diamonds team. Personally I like Ludde, he goes through bad patches but when he is on song he is great to watch. There must be better candidates for Ian to single out than Ludde
-
Mr Lindgren must come back next year. I pay my money to be entertained and Lightnin' usually entertains me. His outside blasts are worth the admission costs alone and the same applied to Robbo and Danny but they are going elsewhere by choice. I think now that the team has already been broken up by riders deciding to depart (I hope the Kerminator will sign on again), we are going to have a new team which could be so much better than the under-acheiving 2014 side. So now we await George and the others to bring in the quality now necessary and we will have major team changes forced upon us. I think this is a good thing!
-
The promoters have a choice between an out and out number 1 rider and a weaker tail or a top five of 7.5 points riders like our teams of recent years that have done us proud. Personally I would like a number 1 rider to win heats 13 and 15. Can I just give a huge thank you to George English. He has been our promoter/co-promoter since 1997 and will be there doing what he does best again in 2015. Thats 18 unbroken years if my maths are right. It means George has surpassed our big name promoters: Johnnie Hoskins, Mike Parker and Ian Thomas where it matters most, keeping the sport going longer than any other promoter. Your dad would have been really proud of you George jnr. No disrespect to George's promoting partners just George has been an ever present since 1997. Waiting patiently for pre christmas signings
-
Yep Richard Lawson would be a great number 1 we need a number 1 rider capable of winning heats 13 and 15 home and away don't we
-
Nothing to go on re signings for 2015. Good luck to Danny if he decides to ride in Poland instead of Sundays at Brough. If he goes, he will be remembered for missing the gate and making high speed blasts around the Brough Park boards to win his races. Great to watch. If the rest off the 2014 team are in the frame then we have some good riders to choose from but in my humble opinion we need an out and out number 1 rider, get me the Cookie monster

What is the date of the promoters meeting? and will George get there without a sat nav!
-
5th November....Phut, splutter! What was that on bonfire night? It was the damp squib that was Newcastles 2014 season. I am reluctant to point the finger at anyone for our lack of success in season 2014 no fireworks for us. Let us hope that by this time next year we will be going "ooh and ahh" when the diamonds explode like rockets in the premier league.

Every year around this time I worry that Newcastle will close down and I will have to include our beloved Brough Park in my http://www.defunctspeedway.co.uk website I enjoy doing the Defunct Speedway website but would hate to have to do a page for Newcastle Speedway. Happily George, Darryl etc are making plans for 2015 which is such a relief 2015 will be the 18th consecutive season without a break and George can take a bow as he has been an ever present in the promotional team for 18 yrs the longest run Newcastle Speedway has ever had and long may it continue. I have just applied for my season ticket as I believe money coming in at this time of year will help the promoters in team building etc. I hope I will get a few more meetings for my money in 2015. The dinner dance is coming up so maybe we will hear something interesting then.

Here is one of my 1970s pages showing pictures of the lads. http://www.newcastlespeedwayhistory.co.uk/Newcastle%20Riders%20PArt2.htm I remember Hendo riding around practising starts before the meeting wearing a top hat. Can anyone else confirm that

I am commenting for our younger fans whom may not understand the 40-38 comment. It harks back to the 13 heat matches of many years ago. Us older fans were treated to 13 heat matches followed by a second half consisting of a couple of junior heats then 3 or 4 qualifying heats for a finale usually called the rider of the night final. We watched 18 or 19 heats for our couple of quid admission now for £16.00 we get 15 heats
-
Well we should be looking at all options. Simon does not seem to me to be a rider who will improve much and if a young prospect becomes available I would want to take the risk of starting with him over Simon. If there is no overnight sensational young 3 pointer like Nathan Greaves available then yes Simon would be good as second reserve. What date is the dinner dance?
-
I would be happy with Robbo for another season as long as he isn't our number 1 or 5 he has done well at number 3. We need two high scoring riders at 1 &5 so we can get back to enjoying heats 13 and 15 home and away. Danny could be one of them. Yes I would like to see the two Lewis's back. It will all depend on their ambitions and how Kings Lynn build their team. Most of the races I remember as being special in 2014 were down to Ludde and also Danny King. I know Lightning can be infuriating at times but what an entertaining rider he is blasting around the boards. I hope we can fit him in for sheer entertainment value, but not at number 5. Danny too entertains as both he and Ludde often miss the gate. I pays my money to be entertained and these two do that. So what am I saying? 2015 to track the same riders as 2014 nah I would be really pleased if George can bring in a Cookie monster or similar. I think our reserve berths will hold the key to success It would be great to track Lewis Rose at number 7 and a young prospect at 6. Simon Neilsen did nothing wrong but I wouldn't want him back again. I guess we will have to wait until the promoters meet as the Elite League appears to be in trouble. Maybe we will be once again members of a British League? The sport needs to bring in changes at times to survive so we will have to wait to see what the bosses decide to do with our sport. I am happy that George is talking about running next year. 2015 will be Georges 18th season in charge and that is a record for Newcastle Speedway. We had Johnnie Hoskins, Mike Parker and Ian Thomas as promoters but they all walked away from us. George, Darryl and Alan deserve a pat on their backs as Newcastle speedway boldy goes into the 18th consecutive season in 2015. Good luck guys bring us some silverware next year

Newcastle V Edinburgh Koc Semi-final ?
dantodan replied to ruffdiamond's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thiery Pjiper was originally brought in for Lewi. At this stage of the season there will be more options for booking guests so hopefully George English will pull a masterstroke and with all due respect to Thiery we will have a better guest! However he will know how to ride Armadale so maybe we will stick with him? The reserve guest options have to be better in mid October so I have confidence in George bringing in a good guest for Millsy. I think the winners of our cup-tie will go on to win the KO Cup. Fingers crossed its us, as the Diamonds have under-achieved this season and it would be great to win a trophy despite our problems -
Mr Pijper should be ok as a guest for Lewi. Such a shame that the Kerrminator is crocked. He should spend his enforced absence wisely, perhaps he could get himself another tattoo best wishes Lewis. The remaining diamonds (Lewis Rose already out- R/R for him) can do well at Armadale. We have an In form Ludvig Lindgren and Danny King is going great guns, Stuart Robson will always pose a threat. Simon Neilsen at reserve plus AN Other. The Monarchs are a mighty obstacle to the Diamonds KOCup final hopes but who knows what the aggregate score will be? I think Monarchs will win at home then we will have to wait to see whether the diamonds can ride their home track better than the Monarchs who always go well at Brough. Ha after a few of these I am going for the Diamonds to sneak it on aggregate

Hi Gustix My 3 websites: - Newcastle History Website Defunct Tracks Newcastle Cycle Speedway Will not vanish or be abandoned I can assure you of that. They all receive info and photo items etc on a very regular basis. I am constantly updating them, in particular the Defunct Tracks website, heavy traffic on that website. So if anyone has any photos, memories etc of a defunct track please email me via the contact me link on the www.defunctspeedway.co.uk website and we can make an already large website into a colossal one

Thanks Norbold, I am retired now and spend some of my daily leisure time working on my speedway websites. Yes I feel honoured to be able to "save" some items to my websites that otherwise would be lost. Many items that I have added to the website have come from relatives of ex-riders etc whom were about to throw them away if I wasn't interested in what they have left from a relatives riding career. I will continue the websites for as long as I am able, I have a good few years left I hope!! So if anyone has photos or memories of any of our now defunct tracks please visit the website(s) and email me John
