Tate had been knocked unconscious but worryingly he reportedly suffered several seizures after been taken to hospital. Protocol in motorsport is you must be free from any seizures for at least 12 months before your licence is renewed.
-
If the change of ownership does not go ahead would Chris Holder want to ride for Chapman given their KL shenanigans a few years back?
-
Oh hadn't heard that. That's sad that the two young lads tipped for places over here have picked up serious injuries.
-
Don't suppose you checked to see if any of the riders were friends with a tactically aware manager?
-
I though it was Tate who had the injury?
-
I'm still of the opinion riders doing the GPseries/World Championship should be detached from league racing and the competition held over say 24 rounds with investment brought in from major sponsors. The GPs killed British Speedway - ask Eastbourne or Arena fans.
-
Just out of interest, can anyone say how the cost of living compares between the UK and Poland and could that influence where riders base themselves?
-
That's a bit of a Catch 22 - the BSPL is the promoters so them teaching themselves isn't going to get them anywhere f they don't know how to start with. We need an independent ruling body if the sport is to survive because as things stand each promoter votes on what they see as beneficial to their own team and they ignore the bigger picture.
-
Maybe rules regarding reserves replacing each other need to be changed. And to avoid hjiggery pokery if a poorly performing reserve "deliberately" goes through the tapes he goes off 15m rather than the other reserve come in?
-
All Promoters at every team need to start doing just that or the sport will die on it's ar5e before much longer. Stupid Mickey Mouse competitions and unnecessary periods of inactivity as we've witnessed this season have to binned.
-
Bit risky effectively having two rookies in the team. The leagues could well be decides by the reserves and/or new faces this year and there is little point in building a strong top end if the lower end is going to haemorrhage points. I think Oxford may well be a good example of that and equally depending on who Glasgow name as their 7th rider we could be in the same boat. In an ideal world you want your s/s to be able to beat visiting h/ls occasionally and equally your reserves to be capable of beating visiting s/s.
-
With the reduced points.limit we (and I mean EVERY TEAM) are getting a lower standard of rider. Just got to hope the experience of the older rider we have signed shines through.
-
Got to wonder when the deal for Compton was done? Has he been a quick replacement for Tate? Manse was sure Complin wouldn't be riding for Glasgow. From the reports of his injuries I doubt Tate will be riding anywhere n the next 12 months.
-
Doesn't sound good. I just hope he follows the medical advice given.
-
Could be more than a couple of months if he has suffered seizures. Some motor sports have a mandatory 12 months without any episodes before licence are renewed. Can only wish the young man well
-
There would be a shortage of riders if it was only the good guys who were employed
-
Could Batch end up at Poole in the Championship especially since he has a lower average than the outgoing Danny King?
-
Aye he's just released a Christmas single with Ozzy Osbourne among others
-
Always been wary of young lads getting in the way and causing havoc but I suppose they have to learn. Perhaps only having the more experienced No 6 come in as a replacement for tape or 2 min exclusions could be a solution?

Yeah how young lads have we lost because their confidence was shattered too early. It is also an expensive sport not to be earning in and keeping machinery tuned etc can take its toll too. -
That's their choice. I've followed speedway for over 50 years and watched it been totally decayed by mismanagement and greed over the years. British Speedway has gone from being the jewel in the crown that riders from every nation wanted to ride with 20 teams in the top division all featuring at least one, if not two, WORLD CLASS riders down to a Mickey Mouse level where even top Brits are posted missing. The BSPA oversee year after year of embarrassing errors and as long as promoters own team come out smelling of roses then that's OK. The only way British Speedway will grow and improve is when a totally independent administration takes control. And if I can't be arsed then maybe it's because I have finally got my priorities sorted.

Why the hell are we,the paying fans, putting up with our sport being diluted by those who actually run it and yet will probably expect us to pay more? I am honestly having a serious think about which meeting I will attend next season and although only a single individual whose presence won't be missed at least I know I'm voting with my feet (and wallet) Maybe if more fans did the same in an organised manner promoters may come to respect fans and their income?

Often wonder which riders careers were positively or negatively affected by them doubling up? I feel Danny was one who may have been better sticking to one and being a SOLID No 1 at CL OR reliable h/l or s/s in the PL -
Yeah but there are more teams than just Glasgow to worry about. Pickering could be the difference: Harris and Cook cancel each other out age and experience wise while Basso, Brennan and Thomson are all at the same stage progess wise of their careers so Josh experience and ability could be the difference between the match ups. But then again the other 4 in each side are going to be as important as the top three. The Bickley v Pjiper battles should be interesting.

Would be interesting to see who as the season progresses developes into yhe 3rd heat leader but also who falls to 2nd reserve position
