Could always just pick them up from the away track before the meeting with proof of id. If all tracks offered in advance prices for all fans then they'd probably see more people through the doors.

Like the EL draft, if riders agree to bring a part of it they would have to agree to ride no matter where they were drafted. Do this and reducing the team limit by 6-7 points for the main team (1-5) doesn't actually dilute the product at all at the start of the season. Decent PL fare? Graversen, Konopka, Dilger, Maassen... Really? Riders given more chances than any of our riders are given and being pants, it's criminal, moves need to be made to improve the future British speedway, each team tracking two young/inexperienced reserves is a good start.

Does it really matter if the blokes name is Arthur or Martha? Reserve draft, two young/inexperienced British riders at reserve all season. No change to heat format needed. Points limit of 35-36 for 1-5. At least one British rider in each team's 1-5 at all times. Doubling up for British riders only. Foreign riders averages never go lower than their assessed figure only upwards once they surpass that starting average.

If it means changes at the top end to keep all three then personally I would make them. Bowtell didn't seem out of his depth in the main team and Hume and Hunter would be a decent reserve pairing to start next season. Think we may see a slightly higher points limit next season, nothing drastic but say 37-38.

I think if either gets an EL fast track spot it'd be Morley personally.

That's very impressive on his part then, just wants to ride and that is important at this stage of his career. Not sure what the Kent/Rye protestations were about, he's a young Brit with potential, he should be allowed to come into the NL on a three point average and should be encouraged to ride over here.

That doesn't mean people didn't try though does it? Maybe Eastbourne are able to pay more money? Maybe their schedule was one he could work in to his own commitments and others didn't work? There could be loads of reasons but Daniel Spiller has been a youth world champion, he was not discovered by Eastbourne, you just signed him first (in Britain).

This is my point, the 12th side down would be somewhere in the midlands probably? So then they will be missing out on a lot of local derby revenue as they only host some of their local rivals once every two seasons. For that reason alone I can't see it working/being voted in if it went to the AGM. I'm an advocate of keeping teams as they are actually, there's not a shortage of speedway riders by any means. Unfortunately we wouldn't get that Superbowl style season finale, we'd just get two teams racing each other over two legs like they do at present in the play-offs. A radical change is all well and good but it has to work, this would be a huge gamble and could be the death knell for many clubs. While we have to think of the sport as a whole in Britain first and foremost there are ways that the current system could be made to work.

Eastbourne signed one, who most people who know anything about youth speedway had heard of, and he happens to have a brother who is supposedly half decent too. Lets not kid ourselves that Eastbourne plucked Daniel Spiller from obscurity.

It's just a non-starter for me, teams change every year, you can't run a two year system, fans wouldn't buy into it, especially if it means they are stuck with a gash side for two years rather than one. As a country we are not that big we don't need to follow American style regionalism. If the sport was just promoted properly and meetings were run properly the fans would come back. Where is your mid point? There will be teams in the midlands only getting one local derby a year with some rivals and that is either home or away, while they will be expected to travel to Edinburgh/Berwick/Glasgow or Plymouth/Somerset for league meetings and vice versa because they are in the North or South half of the league.

I think the 'them and us' thing is more fan driven, there seems to be a lot in all three divisions that are quite blinkered in the opinion that the league they are in is best. Statistically the EL should be closer on track than the PL because the averages of the riders coming to tapes in each heat is closer knit than that in the Premier League in most cases, however it always just boils down to being four blokes on a speedway track and then there are many variables which influence the outcome. Both leagues (EL and PL) have shortcomings and both have positives in my book.

North/South divide? No, no, no. People get bored of the same thing, I don't want to see Kent, Lakeside, Ipswich, Peterborough and Kings Lynn taking it in turns to come to Rye once every 5 weeks and I don't want to be limited to only getting to see my team race at local tracks except on rare occasions. It's more fun travelling to Scotland for a weekend watching Rye on tour than it will ever be going to watch us race a local team. People don't want to see the same visiting riders every few weeks, I don't have any affinity to Rohan Tungate and Cameron Heeps,I don't want to see them at Rye 5/6 times a year.

Morley has spent most of his career at Rye and had a fair few chances in the Rockets side, think he's found a home at Kent for NL racing and possibly as a draft reserve in the EL next year should that system continue. I don't see him wanting to come back personally. Ayres looks a strong possibility as a Rockets reserve, would make more sense to bring him in to the Raiders side too for the track time around his home PL circuit. Of course I'm sure Kent fans wouldn't be happy losing him!

Exactly, these riders are no worse than Konopka, Maassen, Dilger etc who keep being given PL reserve berths, if every team has two draft reserves then there will be points there for them to score in heat 2 plus they will be of a quality to compete with existing PL riders anyway. Agree with regards to the EL, Newman/Garrity etc are scoring well in their reserve berths but to make them second strings is watering down the top fives IMO. Let them get averages next season then implement a draft again for 2017 with another batch of riders by which time the riders who have been in the draft for the last couple of years should definitely be EL ready if they ever will be.

The Raiders have been better to watch than the Rockets this year. I hope the promotion take note of what the fans, their paying customers, want to see and that is a Raiders team next year again. Hume, Bowtell and Hunter are must haves for me. Will Kyle get a shot in the PL? I don't think so somehow unfortunately so It'd be great to have him back to lead the line as Rob's average is too high to double up now I believe. If as expected Danny Ayres is lined up as a Rocket then it'd be good to see him come in and it looks as if Kent will need to lose one of their top four. Other than that I'd try keep as much continuity as possible, so we could be looking at something like the following if the numbers add up: Hughes Ayres Priest Chessell Bowtell Hume Hunter Granted I'm not sure what the Chessell situation is currently.

I really dislike the new EL race format, these riders are part of a system that is supposedly pushing them to a higher standard, so they need to race the best riders. On top of this most riders in the 1-5 at EL clubs are averaging around the six point mark because they are racing riders who are the same standard as them in each race they have. I want a draft in the PL next year but tampering with the race format is a no go for me. Giving our own riders a leg up is good but not when they are then being wrapped in cotton wool and protected from racing the best riders in the meetings they race in.

It would get rid of rubbish like Konopka, Maassen and Dilger, seriously these blokes are no better than NL riders so a draft would not do any harm. Just reduce the points limit of the PL by 6-7 points for the top five with two draft reserves and teams aren't even being watered down really.

Poole should be what people aspire to, the rules are no different for them than they are for the rest. Things can be done properly and the sport could be marketed well at most venues, theres too much of a defeatist attitude these days. If the stadium is improved and the team is competitive people will come back to Rye House. The latter is far more important, people are more patient about being in crap surroundings if they are being entertained, rubbish team and not much change to the aesthetics this year have left Rye fans restless.
