  1. Future plans must mean PL next year, can't see Lynn selling him unless they get a crazy offer. If we do go EL though Woffinden and Linus are more than welcome back.
  2. There are more safety measures now, the sport is safer than it once was without a doubt however there will always be the risk of injury/death in motor sport of any kind and the participants know the risks, they always have. If more can be done, it should be done. The criminal thing in my opinion is that silencers are seemingly being made to satisfy noise restrictions, however they are allegedly putting riders lives at risk. If tracks have to close down for noise reasons that is sad indeed, but I'd rather see a track close than a rider killed on track any day.
  3. That must be a lot of tracks seem to struggle to draw a crowd these days then.
  4. Nothing to race for, may as well give the team the best chance for next season by having as many points available as possible for team building. It goes on most places I'm sure, why shouldn't we do the same.
  5. If the correct bottom end is lined up for next season we'd be stupid not to go with Kennett, Lambert and NBJ. A novel idea would be to arrange fixtures when there are no clashes with our riders foreign/EL commitments. Got five meetings now for the riders who are coming back next year to make their averages look more attractive. Also we somehow still have a crack at the cup.
  6. Adam Ellis 4.67, think the rule on NL doubling up is for riders over 5?
  7. I'd go: 1. Kennett 2. Kasper 3. Bowen 4. Lambert 5. NBJ 6. Greenwood 7. Maassen Kasper gives us strength in heat 8. Potential for at least 9 points from the last three heats too. We could have found someone better than Greenwood though, we didn't need to use a three pointer. Going down the three point route however Morley would have been better at home and probably scored just as many away.
  8. No thanks. Was crap last time and a gating tart.
  9. What would be the point of that? Kennett's PL average is a point higher.
  10. If a 15 year old was killed on a speedway bike it would cause just as much of a stir. Len Silver tried to get permission for Rob Lambert to race for the Raiders when he was 13/14 but it was denied despite the fact he was clearly ready for NL racing.
  11. He'd probably earn more riding PL and scoring a hatful every week than in Denmark. Plus aren't Danish meetings run on a Wednesday? Lambert can do another year in the PL and I'd be surprised if he doesn't. That wouldn't stop him chasing a GP spot through the qualifiers.
  12. Doubling up is limited to two seasons again now, perhaps Ed might want another crack at EL full time. That'd pave the way to bring Lambert in and Eddie could always come back for the 2017 season. Preferably I'd have both and NBJ though. The long tail would be worth it. Especially if we can find a decent three pointer. While it may not be ethical I'd like to think the promotion are talking to the riders they want to retain now the league campaign is over and telling them that the lower their averages are for next season the better.
  13. With the majority of racing siblings the younger one usually turns out to be a better rider.
  14. British youngster, great prospect too. Let's saddle him with a high assessed average and alienate him, then if he reaches his full potential Germany can benefit from it rather than us. Great idea. Spiller is 17, he could have raced in the NL for the last two seasons but for one reason or another hasn't, now he has come over and he has made a highly encouraging start. Any NL side could have gone in for him, Kent included, but did they, who knows? It's not as if he has been under the radar either, he won the 250cc World title a few years back if i recall correctly.
  15. Anyone serious about riding in Poland, and I'm pretty sure Lambert wouldn't approach it half assed, would have bikes for both countries. Just gotta be on a plane himself and there's no issue.
  16. Chessell would be a heat leader in th NL if he stayed on the bike more often. Certainly got scope for improvement next season again too, the Raiders would do well to keep hold of him.
  17. There is someone in place to run the team though. Len Silver. Silver is the one who said the stadium would change week on week this season, not Scott if I recall correctly. I'm not expecting major changes to the facilities to happen until the winter and hopefully along with that we'll track a decent team next year.
  18. Would signing Lambert be worth it if Maassen is part of the package? They appear to be good mates, Maassen's presence could be a draw for Lambert at Rye? Think we could be looking at something like Kennett, Lambert, NBJ, Kasper, Bowen, Branford/BWD, Maassen. Would leave a long tail but that's a powerful top three.
  19. The same way the Young Shield used to work in the PL? Makes sense IMO, the top team is the best team over the season, therefore the Champions.
  20. It's a strong line up with a lot of home interest as well as a couple of Brummies which will bring Birmingham fans through the door. It's hard to call a winner from that field.
  21. No. We threw away a qualification place in the League Cup and we were only at the right end of the league early doors because we'd had more meetings than most other clubs. Injuries came and the wrong signings were made. We got lucky in the cup because Berwick capitulated and we'll be found out in the next round. And in English?
  22. I remember my first beer too. Times change and Silver hasn't changed with them. Simple. Past is past and at present we're pony.
  23. Lambert has probably missed more meetings for Peterborough than NBJ has missed for the Rockets due to other commitments this season. Would love to see Lambert at Rye, a top three of him, NBJ and Kennett would leave us with a very long tail though.
