  1. R/R for Ross Brady is par for the course anyway isn't it?
  2. What newcomers? Another expected result, something has to change and soon.
  3. If we still had that run of fixtures as a northern tour this year I'd happily go, such good weekends away. The promotion know that us fans enjoyed them too so why not push for a three night northern your when fixtures are arranged each year!?
  4. The lad is 15 it's all about giving him time on track, he's going to be a very good rider. He's averaging 3.06 in the league at present, that is solid from a debut season reserve at this level. To say he hasn't progressed quickly is unfair. How? Rye House drop riders once in a blue moon. How can you take a step back in your debut season? He started with a blank canvas. Riders only take 3 rides a meeting generally in the MDL, it's not a 15 heat format. Good luck to Garrad, if he has the same impact as Ayres then it will be a good move for the team. Hope Harris does return later in the year or in 2015, he'll be a very good rider in future and the Kings can't afford to let him slip through their fingers.
  5. It you're running a business you should have your finger on the pulse of events that will increase/decrease your trade regardless of if they are directly related to yourself or not.
  6. That's what I thought, shouldn't have been organised for this date in the first place. Feel for those that have planned to go up and can't travel now or will be a meeting short.
  7. Halsey rides for Eastbourne on Saturdays and he's never going to do any better than Morley.
  8. To be fair to Luke Harris he still is a boy in the eyes of the law! Not a fan of the way Leicester have tackled putting a side together for the Tropht but if it leads to them putting out a full NL outfit in future then fair play I guess.
  9. My bad, didn't realise he hadn't got a new average yet!
  10. And Williamson is out performing Perry at NL level too.
  11. Cheers Pitstop, thought he had injury troubles with Hackney but must be wrong. The lad has buckets of potential, if he comes back the Kings have a great prospect. Ayres seems the more rounded reserve at the moment so it would make sense for Freemantle to replace Harris but Harris' name must be put on a contract for 2015 as he's another lad who will go far.
  12. Unless the two new riders could be accommodated as straight swaps for existing members of the line up, then the team can still stay over the limit. For the Kings, Compton has been a huge miss, he may have been fourth in the averages but he was really the third heat leader and Mason a second string. R/R for Compton has returned 3.5 points a meeting whereas the man himself would probably be good for 7 home and away. Freemantle is undoubtedly talented but he's never seemed to be able to string a season together wherever he has been.
  13. Not exactly, say Cradley were to lose a rider, they can replace him to his average regardless of if they go over the points limit, however if they were to make more changes to the side, say replace a 7 point rider and a 3 point rider with two 5 point riders they could only do that under the 40 point limit. Hopefully that makes sense, it's not the most straightforward thing to word!
  14. I'm talking things like rider interviews, music befitting of the event not just an old now cd stuck on and paused during races. Little things that make the evening seem less of a drag. Not asking for fireworks, just something to help the time pass between heats.
  15. When my friends started standing elsewhere I love my speedway and I've been to two meetings at Rye this season, granted for some I've been busy but for others I just can't justify the cost because there is nothing served up other than the 15 races with numerous lengthy delays.
  16. I'm here rain or shine, though as I gave up on the fish and chips at Rye a long while ago I have nothing to contribute here really! This is probably the biggest Rye meeting thread of the season so far and most of it has been about food.
  17. Lambert has only got to score 4 more points for Workington and he's matched the amount of points he's scored all season for Rye House. Amazing what a change of scenery can do.
  18. He's seen Rye more than three times, 2-3 trips over with the American touring team too in previous campaigns so Rye is one of the tracks Manzares has seen most over here. Hope Stefan is back for this one. Gonna be a hit to crowd levels with the Boxing on though.
  19. Long term losing Coles as an asset and gaining Baseby is a poor move. Coles has doubled his average this year and will only improve. Signing Baseby to take the heat off R/R is good though as that strategy hasn't been working.
  20. I rated him when he raced for us at Rye. If he could sustain an 8 point figure I'd take him back at some point.
  21. Rides for Stoke in the NL on Saturday nights.
  22. It's the nature of the beast. Cradley have put together the best team within the rules. I personally think the points limit should be lower, it'll even teams out that have different agendas. It makes so much sense but it never even seems to be considered. It annoys me to see Cradley fans complaining about the strength of Scunthorpe etc and vice versa, there are merits to both sides line ups and both bring something to the league. It is a league for developing riders as well as for teams being competitive I don't care what anyone says.
  23. Konopka, Williamson, Crang, Greenwood, Benko all on par with Carr.
