  1. I always thought Poole had their own rulebook
  2. This is a problem with many sporting events. They know when they have a crowd they can charge more unfortunately.A bit like holidays, they know they can charge more when the kids are off school. Many restaurants will offer discounts but not on a Saturday. When these places know there will be crowds they know they can charge more. The only thing that could probably stop it is if none of us punters buy anything.Personally i very rarely buy anything,if you can't go a couple of hours without food or drink there must be a problem.I do sometimes have a pint of shandy which is priced ok
  3. Don't think it will be Tungate or Holder at reserve, don't the reserves have to be U21.
  4. It seemed relevant in your earlier post.I take it you don't really know how cheap the team is.Like me and about 99.9% of the supporters we don't exactly know how much the riders are costing the club.
  5. Would you care to tell us how much the riders are getting paid,i've always wanted to know
  6. IMO sport is about winning and most supporters want to see their team win.If you could have the mixture of both, winning and great racing that is the perfect combination and 100% of supporters would go home happy. But even back in the day you never got that only on occasions. You rightly pointed out back in the 2nd tier we were hammering teams and it wasn't good speedway. But the support was there,so to me this suggests at least 90% of supporters want to see their team win first and foremost.
  7. I don't know about big news, just news every Friday wasn't it.You would be hard pressed to have big news every Friday for the next 6-7 weeks.
  8. Proctor and Rose i think.Don't know who that is at the back though.
  9. I too struggle to comment on certain posts.I even start to write a reply sometimes and delete it,thinking i'm just banging my head against a brick wall.
  10. Think Buster is just seeing out his term as BSPA Chairman now,by what he said at the forum.
  11. The point of a forum is also to discuss things after they have happened.
  12. I'm surprised you haven't been shot down yet for calling it moaning
  13. Surely if that was the case he would be riding here too
  14. Thought they were still racing for Rye House in the PL.If they are that hard up they could get an ordinary job to work along side their speedway. As with most things there are limits, unfortunately those two are over that.
  15. I use to love the smell back in the late 70's & 80's.That was part of speedway then. Now i very rarely get the whiff of that magical smell sadly.
  16. I wouldn't say also rans. But injuries to the Poles early on would seriously scupper their plans. They most definitely would struggle to get any riders to replace the capabilities of the Poles on those averages.
  17. It is indeed a marathon, although followed by a sprint and who can assemble the best team come the end of July in readiness for the play-offs.
  18. That's last season's coverage i think.
  19. Those balls and pins don't half make a lot of noise don't they
  20. The riders are going to do an extra lap if they win a race, and Lambert will continue with his wheelies. Is this enough to coax you back.Oh and plus there will be a better quality and bigger programme.
  21. Thought it was a good meeting.Robin Brundle certainly came across very well.As did young Andersen.Didn't realise Proctor had such a bad injury as he did a few years ago. They all came across well i thought. Not surprised at all what Buster said about promoters getting into little groups to vote certain things through. And that he still feels they need somebody independant of speedway. People moan about it going up a £1,but unfortunately that's life everything goes up,not just speedway. The only downside tonight was Ipswich not wanting to do a home and away challenge on Good Friday.
