  1. This is one of the reasons i am peed of with the decision to postpone over 24hrs before the match was due to take place. The forecast wasn't too bad yesterday, but as we all know come the day the forecast can be totally different. As you have stated the forecast has changed to 80/90% chance of rain showers.Who knows, the forecast could quite easily have been the other way round this morning and say 10/20% chance of rain.I'm all for calling early, but the day before don't sit right with me,unless of course they had days of rain beforehand that is then understandable. Incidentally i am 9 miles away as the crow flies and we have had a few very light showers, and 1 heavy-ish one but it is bone dry here.So i think they have got very lucky with the call off at the moment. That is the nature of showers i suppose. For the first time since i have been driving(36 years)i may choose to miss the re-staging as i can't keep throwing money away like i do for my love of speedway.I have missed meeting's before but not through choice.I have even come straight from hospital on 2 occasions to watch the Stars.I certainly won't be doing that anymore.
  2. I will definitely lose £90 today, that's 4 meetings worth. We have had a few problems, but we have always managed to keep the works vans full of diesel . That's 8 vans at between £50-£90 a day
  3. But if that was the case why don't they just come out and say that was the case.Would make things more believable than the weather report as it stands.
  4. Blimey,i would be seeing 8 riders in the first race if that was me.
  5. I had a similar thought in my head, although i was thinking there is maybe an airfare to be saved or something like that.
  6. But now the re-arrangement is 4 days after the one on the 21st,this too will put fans off imo.
  7. Absolute piss take imo.Yes there are meant to be some showers about tomorrow, but there was meant to be plenty of rain here today in Wisbech and all we had was a couple of showers. As i work Thursday evenings i gave my shift away to another colleague. So i have now chucked £90 away because it may rain tomorrow.I could understand if the forecast was atrocious but it isn't according to the Met office and accu weather. The Bbc has more showers but they are often wrong. It's got me thinking going forward,do i ask people to cover my shifts on Thursdays or not now.I mean they have called this one off with over 24hrs to go because we may get some rain.Let's be honest we live in the UK,there's a bloody chance every day of some rain. Are they trying to piss fans off and drive them away from the sport.I love going to Lynn to watch my speedway, the team has been in my blood since the 70's.I would always try to get someone to cover my shift but i can't keep knocking back a wage just in case of a suspect cloud could be heading our way.Well i will be there on the 25th,but on the 21st who knows. It wouldn't have bothered me about 2 meetings in 4 days,in fact i would have been over the moon. Now though i have a decision to make, the long range forecast has to be pretty much wall to wall sunshine for me to risk asking someone to do my shift and losing £90.
  8. Blimey,if he is washing his hair on Monday he may miss our home meeting against Ipswich on the Thursday
  9. Whilst it may be cold at the speedway, you would save a fortune by going and not putting the central heating on.
  10. It is isn't it,never nice being ill.
  11. Could averages come into play when changes are to happen again. This could scupper things,if things take longer than expected.
  12. Maybe some fans don't go to P&P now because of social media.Plus with the Kerr meeting on Sunday many fans have seen the riders in real action. Back in the day when P&P was well attended you couldn't get to see anything online. Now people expect it to be online so they don't have attend a P&P. There is a good and a bad side to social media imo.
  13. Roadworks at the leverington turn off in Wisbech are now gone, this should ease the congestion considerably around Wisbech.I can't see there being any problem on Sunday traffic wise through Wisbech.
  14. I think if i was coming from London way i would take the A10 through to Lynn.I don't know of any road works from Stretham to Downham Market at least. There wasn't any road works from Downham to Lynn when i last used the road a few weeks ago.
  15. Not according to Iversen,he will only be staying 6 weeks, but things can change very quickly as we know in speedway. This is a quote from Iversen from the BSPA website. “I can do it now because Poland and Sweden haven’t started yet, but when they do then obviously my time at King’s Lynn will come to an end because of the rules in Poland about the number of leagues you’re allowed to race in.
  16. Get the old map book out Mimmo, there is plenty of back roads you can take.Plus it will be a flash back to the good old days where we had to always have a map book in the car.
  17. That has been a pain for over a year now, especially when it has been shut on various weekends. If I was coming from Peterborough on Sunday I would personally go Whittlesey way and then go the back route through Coldham to rejoin the A47 further up either from the B&Q roundabout in Wisbech,or there are more routes to get on the A47 further up.Or you can just carry on through all the back roads to the AFA.It's probably only easy if you know these roads of course.
  18. It has been a nightmare in Wisbech mainly because of the 3 way traffic lights at leverington Road. But much of the traffic has been coming from Sutton Bridge which has made the situation much worse than it should be.Sutton Bridge situation is due to go on until July I think. Would expect the travel situation to be much better on a Sunday though. Looking forward to this already, especially with the weather forecast looking good as well.
  19. There's no visa for required for the mystery man.The times being taken for Mark Lemon to dust his kevlars down in time for the start of the season
  20. I wasn't convinced he would last a full month.I was too looking forward to seeing him,but we might not at all now,who knows. Hopefully NKI can show us form of a few seasons ago,but imo his best days are definitely behind him.But in this league he should maintain his average at the very least.
  21. To be reviewed at the start of May.Does that mean if he is doing well he stays as long as it fits with his other commitments.
  22. I'm a little bit Porky,does that count
  23. Wouldn't think it would affect Ryanair or Easyjet yet, must be some of their busiest routes. They wouldn't throw that money away unless the war affected Poland directly. And if it did affect Poland directly you would think all the riders would want to be heading this way.
