Seemed like he used it a lot from the outside looking in because he was poor all season. How could it take all season to try to get things going and never reach the point where you have succeeded.
-
Averages are like the stock market investments, they can go up as well as down.Imo I would expect Batchelor to put at least .5 -1.5 on that average and thats the name of the game. A few years ago when Doyle was probably mid 20's on a mediocre average did people think that was his ability and wouldn't get a higher average. Teams have to try and get a few riders in their team who they think can improve their average and imo Batchelor is one.

Everyone was in the same boat there(tyres). With having personal problems as well as using, wasn't it the Gerhard engine at times no wonder he weren't that great. If he used other engines like everyone else i'm sure his confidence would have come back.
-
Totally agree.I think once riders choose not to be a rising star, that's it you can't just jump in and out as a rising star when you please.Just imagine the uproar if you had another Lambert come through and chose the same route as Rowe has.Think Lambert attained a near 5.5 average after his first season. Then to use him as a rising star the following season would have been wrong. While i know there are rules concerning the rising stars,is there one in place to say if they attain a certain average the following season they can't be a rs.
-
They should take advantage.Rowe as a rs is a good move.Another loophole discovered maybe? He has an average of 4.46 and in effect goes back down to a 3pt as this is what all rising stars would come into the team proper.
-
With Rowe as a rising star,,that has basically saved Ipswich about 1.5 pts on their team average.
-
I heard Thomas was asked, can't see him turning it down tbh.
-
If the rumoured team is :Pickering,Lawson,Kildemand,Jorgensen,Kerr,Thomas that would leave around 5.8 if Kildemand is 7.1 and Pickering 7.38(acc to Sheffield stats)BSPA latest was 7.06.So i wouldn't expect to see Andersen back with that size average left.I would fully expect to see Kerr start at reserve.
-
Bit tough to start as no1,but then Lawson did a good job there last year when not expected to do that well as a no1. Just had a look at Pickering's H/A average,he actually had a better away average than his home one.As he rode Lynn very well hopefully he will have a good home average and keep up the good work away from home.
-
What average is he on,can't be asked to look to be honest.Thought he was a 7+ last time in the PL.If he is mid to high 7's think that would be a struggle to match.Be happy if he is a 6+
-
Exactly, this is how they squeezed Bates in last season. This peed off many fans whom thought surely that rule would have started at season beginning. But they had to do something with Bates birthday being in February i believe.
-
Bates will be 26 before the new season starts.
-
It wasn't on there only a couple of days ago when I looked, that's not an announcement.Anyway I mean by the club.
-
That's the first kind of announcement I've seen including Kerr in the side.
-
That's been the talk hasn't it.Done well in the few PL matches he done.An improvement on Kinsley but would have still preferred Connor but that boat has long sailed.
-
Absolutely agree about Pickering hence why i said he would be a good addition. But with the last place or two left i think they need to find a gem like Sheffield did with Pickering last season.
-
Whilst i think Pickering would be a good addition, you also have to look at a rider or two who you think may put a point and some on their starting average. He may do that but he is now a 7+.If Lynn had any forward thinking they would have got him last season when he was around 4.7.Hopefully they will have a surprise signing who they may think will do this.
-
Yes it would improve them and help the GB national team. But as HGould said this would not help league speedway in the UK at all.It would just increase the speed of the demise of any league speedway in the UK if they were all to go to Poland.
-
Don't think they are unfortunately.
-
No thanks, think his average is now over inflated.
-
Should still qualify for a R/S going by the rules set out last season.
-
Funnily enough i think he would be due a testimonial next season.
-
About 7.57 i think. While Crump maybe ok on 5.36 average it's a bit of a risk.Same with Iversen can't see him coming back like the Iversen we knew.Thought he was on the wane a bit for us back in 2018 when he achieved a 7.38 average. Thomas a shoe in as the R/S i think.
-
Connor has gone to start with afaik.
-
Think Connor will be at Sheffield. With signing for Leicester and also the Bates connection between the two clubs. We may well end up with another local lad as a RS who had a few guest meetings for a few PL teams towards the end of last season.
