Swc Race Off
Starman2006 replied to BigFatDave's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeh quite right,at least then you might get some proper racing! Appart from a couple of races it was a bore feast, can't see it being any different saturday, i would fully expect them to take some shale off the track, as there appeared to be to much on their tonight!!! -
I hear a rumour going round that you are moving to Plymouth Bob!!!!!

I Definately don't agree with this. you obviously didn't read my posts, as you are going round in circles. Neil took Team GB as far as he could, and if Rob Lyon can achieve what Neil did with the riders at his disposal, which is not a lot, then good luck to the man. But believe me, Saturday will not be a walk in the park, and if we get on the podium that will be a good result, but all our boys will have to ride like they did last night, and better!! And tell me this, where are the next set of riders going to come from when Nicholls Richardson and Harris retire? read my other posts and you will get the answers!! -

Have to agree with this. You will never see a better world cup final and race off than you saw in 2004, in this country, except the result was wrong!! And ive watched them all since the evalution of Sky. IMO Peterbough would be the only other place capable of holding a WCF in this country. -
Yep i do agree with you. Neill took Team GB as far as he could take it, so he bowed out at the right time. Rob needs a fair crack of the whip, and to be fair to the man he's done ok so far, as for blooding the youngsters, other than Tai, who else have we got who's good enough to ride on the International stage? Yes there are several, but are they really interested, apart from Eddie Kennett who's form this season has really suprised me, he's far better than what he's showing, other than him, who else?? Ah Jim Lynch, nice bloke, but im not really sure he wanted the job in the first place, i get the impression he was pressed ganged because he was the only one that applied for the position! I thought about applying for the position, but i thought, Nah, give somebody else a chance first!!!
-
Paulco. Theres a lot of things that i do agree with you, especially some of your Racing points. But i don't wholeheartedly agree with you here. Neill went through long periods where are boys were bang off the pace, and obviously not riding as one,and i don't think that was down to Neil. Many people were calling then for the younger brigade to take over, even when Rob took over many many on here said Rob who, i hope he gives the kids a chance! well the older brigade did well last night, lets see if they can back it up in Voyans!! I'll review this post if and when they reach the final, and either win it or get beat by a point. IMO and just my opinion, Rory Schlein lost it for the Aussies!

Not sure i would agree with your first statement, you obviously wasn't around to see the 2004 race off and final from a world cup point of view. Tonight i don't think this is a result the Aussies would have wanted, as Voyans will not suit the Aussies, and with the Danes there you would find more dirt on the M27!! If in was in Craigs shoes i would take a long hard look at Rory Schlein, because i would be very tempted to recall Adams. As for Team GB, the old boys rode well, Nicholls shot off Gate 3 in ht 25, why couldn't he have done that in 2004, eventhough that was off Gate 1. Nobody will beat the poles!!! -

Cardiff Grand Prix
Starman2006 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Your making me yawn meslf mate, reading your post!! Fantastic result, the right result, Chris fully deserved his win, Gollob will be back and take the title this year, then retire on the spot. I have to agree with others though, this was the tenth aniversary meeting, and the pre meeting entertainment was crap, imo the attendance was also down on previous years.Paul Childs was excellent, sang the Welsh national anthem impecably as usual Sky, what the hell you playing at, people have hardly left the stadium and your showing the replay!! BSI, sort it out otherwise the crowds will dip even further next year, the food prices were well, extortionant to put it mildly, talk about a captive audiance. so what do you do, you either take your own or buy it before you come into the Stadium, simple, and unless you lower your prices thats what more and more will do. This is suposed to be British Speedways showpiece event, no wonder we get no coverage from the terestial boys on the BBC or ITV, plenty of British GP motor racing, but not a mention about the British speedway GP on two wheels, i still say the promoting of the event could be a whole lot better!! Still as i said, the result was right and fully deserved. It gets better and better, a GP winner on Cardiffs tenth Aniversary, and half the back up staff come from poole, ang on, am i trying to say something here, wink wink, nudge nudge of course, im not Gloating,,,, much!!! We must be doing something right down here!!! -

One right outside the stadium, multi story, but that will cost you. that said, if there's several of you in the car split it three or whatever ways and it will work out cheep! There are parking places around the stadium area, but check where you park first for signs or clamping signs!! Just be careful where you park, the sharks will be out in force!! -
