What you failed to mention though was the play off's weather permitting bring in clubs biggest crowds of the season, so they clearly do work. Problem is, enticing people through the gate for the rest of it.

On paper it was the strongest looking side for a few years, but as you know, it doesnt always work out, hence changes have to be made. And if they do, Matt will make them.

As i said on here, but as expected i got a barage of abuse, our bad crowds are better than the majorities good crowds, so something clearlyy amiss elsewhere dont you think ? Then you are bound to disagree with me. Its the nature of the poole beast.. Last week the racing was pretty good the atmosphere was superb the cameradery in the pits was very good, when things are right we have the best club in the country by a million miles. Even we cant be brilliant, all the time..

But in the long run he will be worth it. Matt really rates him.

We still have a lot of good loyal sponsors. And although our crowds have been a bit down in comparison we still have a very big fan base, even without the holiday trade. Thing is like all clubs, cost is not doing speedway any favours, and not like years ago people have to pick and choose there meetings. But proof is in the pudding, you bring in a decent rider like Chris who will give his all and is a racer crowds will come. But Poland is killing things over here, and riders have to be realistic.

Yes it does have to get approved from the Ivory Tower as you put it. But sadly you cannot do it for everybody, its just not posible. For example, the injured Jockeys fund does it for all jocks who are either injured or have to retire from race riding due to an injury i have a mate who had to retire from the saddle, benifited from it and is now a surveyor. In which Oaksey house also helps with there re- abillitation. They are a big body, we are just a small club in the great scheme of things. And thats why the Ben fund is also a very good thing. Edit, ive just seen the last post of yours, thats good to hear.

Mate, as an x sponsor and i take you are /were a regular at poole, you will know the REF donates 500 to each rider over the course of the season, and or 500 in exceptional circumtances like this. The REF fund as you are probably aware has been around at poole for donkeys years, really well run by Stan and Val. We have regular winter quiz sessions in the champs bar hall every month during the close season, and is superbly compered by Nij who puts the quizs and videos together. And are very well attended. The entrance fee goes to the REF fund. and or you can subcribe to a monthly direct debit, which also gives you free entry to the quizs, and a different member of that REF fund gets to donate the said money to a rider on the start line before a meeting over the course of the season.

As i said mate Dave from Bmth bedding is giving him 1 k, if the REF can find 500, im sure a couple of his sponsors can find the shortfall. And im sure the Poole fans will want chip in in some shape or form. given the chance, but it has to be made official.im not suggesting a collection hot foot after the SRBF collection, but something random but official.

Because thats always been opening time. Really no point in opening at 5.30.
