  1. I believe the Bydgoszcz airport is pretty close to the centre but could anyone advise the best way to get from the airport to Hotel Brda? Is it best to get a bus/taxi or train and how much should we be looking to pay?Don't want to get taken for a ride in more ways than one Also I believe Chesterfields is the place to go on Saturday night. Is that place pretty easy to find? Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, did try looking but one of the previous Bydgoszcz threads runs to 28 pages and I'm off out to the KL v Glasgow cup semi in 5 mins so a bit pushed for time. Thanks
  2. Try here http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...topic=19416&hl= First post has lots of useful information and I believe someone has confirmed that it's still up to date. Hope that helps.
  3. Is there a favoured watering hole for the BSF "massif" ahem I mean members while in Prague? Really looking to soaking up some pre GP pivo on Saturday Oops sorry, really should of read gbr135's message before posting
  4. Managed to book 3 rooms at the Cardiff Central Travelodge for 2 nights at a bargain price of £26 a night. Result
  5. Is it possible to catch a train to Slany and if so does anyone know how far the track is from the station? According to http://www.volny.cz/speedway.slany/kalendar.htm I think the meeting starts at 5:30 and not 6:00PM Also does anyone have any ideas as to the lineup?
  6. Me + 4 Flying out Thursday and back on the Sunday night. And Bank Holiday Monday spent in bed recovering
  7. Thanks Tommy Might be after some advice nearer the time. Really hope I can catch a league match before I head back. The atmosphere looks something else in what little I have seen
  8. Just used the e-ticket system to order 5 tickets. Very simple I thought At at about £15 a ticket to stand that's about the same price as an EL match. Can't be bad
  9. Hi Tommy Do you have a complete list of fixtures for the day after the Bydgoszcz GP? We are flying out but not till 9PM so hoping to catching a Polish match before we go. I gather that there will not be one in Bydgoszcz as BSI hire the track for the whole weekend. Is Torun the next nearest track? Thanks
  10. A great effort by Team GB tonight. Couldn't fault any of the squad. Some of the racing was breathtaking and thankfully everyone seems to of come away unscathed after some horrible looking crashes. Thought Gollob was awesome tonight though turning left on Scott Nicholls down the middle of the straight was a tad naughty As an aside from the action, it was good to see Craig Watson with the Aussie team. Any news on a possible comeback?
  11. Hi You can add AJH + 1 onto the list as well Cheers
  12. I've just found an excellent website by Nick Barber for memorabilia collectors http://www.nickbarber.co.uk One of the first sites of this nature I have seen that do on line sales. Does anyone know of any others besides this? BTW - Nick's site is well worth checking out if you are a collector.
  13. Pretty sure there is a final for the top 4 after the 20 Heats.

  15. That would be in 1983 then Rusky. Certainly remember Getingarna coming over. If I recall correctly they also visited Lynn in the season opener in 1988 and they had a young reserve by the name of Tony Rickardsson who failed to score in his two rides (from memory). Wonder whatever happened to him?
  16. Just done some checking but it seems that the Pod Orlem has no rooms available. Seems to be space at the Hotel Brda and I have e-mailed an enquiry to the City Hotel asking about rooms there.
  17. Ok then, I'll settle for the flares and smoke bombs. Could really see them catching on at the Norfolk Arena
  18. From what I have read there seems to be a choice of 3 decent hotels. The Pod Orlem, Hotel Brda and the City Hotel. Any pros and cons with each? Are they all fairly central? I defo want to have (at least) a night in Chesterfields. Is that under the City Hotel? Guess it would be less distance to stagger Look forward to meeting up with some of you out there, even the 2.5 Ippo fans Also is the airport close to the city centre? Cheers
  19. Cheers Baz Just booked myself and a mate on the same flight. Hurray for low cost airlines Really looking forward to this one. Seen some amazing racing from Bydgoszcz on the TV and now can't wait to see it firsthand but the thing I'm most looking forward to is sampling the atmosphere generated by the Poles. I've looked through the Webshots photos of Papa Bazarou and Mateusz and it looks great. Think we will be heading for the backstraight as well. The Bydgoszcz football style shirts with the name on the back look great as well. Can you buy them over there?
  20. I get quite a few of my programmes from eBay (hi Zeistsport, Jaybea and anyone else who maybe lurking) but I've yet to see these ones come up. Also the prices on eBay can be well over the going rate Thanks for replying though
  21. Hi there I don't know if this is the right place to ask or not but I was wondering if there were any collectors or dealers who might be able to help with tracking down some King's Lynn II programmes for me? I am after the following: Canterbury v King's Lynn II (05/04/1969) Plymouth v King's Lynn II (18/04/1969) Middlesbrough v King's Lynn II (15/05/1969) King's Lynn II v Rayleigh (01/06/69) King's Lynn II v Berwick (08/06/69) Crewe v King's Lynn II (28/07/1969) King's Lynn II v Crewe (03/08/1969) Long Eaton v King's Lynn II (14/05/1970) As far as I am aware, the dates are correct. If anyone has copies that they would be willing to sell, just drop me a personal message. Also interested in any other King's Lynn/Norwich/Yarmouth memorabilia. Please feel free to get in touch with anything that you think might be of interest. Thanks Andrew
  22. Hi CedarMan Who did you book your fights with? Just checked RyanAir and the flights for Bydgoszcz don't seem to be on sale yet. Any other airlines fly to Bydgoszcz? Cheers
  23. Don't think there is any secret to my success I booked from the Friday night if that makes a difference or not? Got e-mail confirmation of my booking through as well. Maybe got lucky with a party cancelling or something
  24. Just booked 3 double rooms in Cardiff Central Travelodge for £50 per room per night. Bargain, right above the Walkabout and only a short stagger to 3 Wetherspoons.
  25. The England game kicks off at 3.00PM German time (2.00PM our time) Be just like 2002 when we watched England beat Argentina in the Springbok in Cardiff on the Friday afternoon. Great atmosphere in there, loads of English and of course the Welsh trying to turn it into little Buenos Aires No noise from sheep (ahem loving) boys If anyone wants all the games with times, check out http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/w...006/4510476.stm and download the pdf
