  1. Yeah even when speedway hating Storm Aileen and her 75 mph winds piss off towards Scandanavia , she doesn't take the rain with her . It's forecast to linger around like an unwelcome relative at Christmas for most of the day tomorrow .
  2. I think we've been brainwashed into thinking tracks have to be smooth and bald . I thoroughly enjoyed that last night , there were some terrific races , surely as a neutral that's what you want to see , rather than 15 heats of follow the leader on a one line track .
  3. Another re-arranged fixture to catch up on in this busy week of speedway up here . This could be a play off semi final dress rehearsal , so would be good to put a bit of doubt in the Witches camp . We're still a bit short handed injury wise , so bring in Ryan Douglas and it's our turn in the rota to use James Shanes . Not sure the make up of the Ipswich line up , though Kyle Newman looked pretty good guesting for us on Saturday , so he could be troublesome and we know Danny King will score heavily , but the good thing is that there is one or two raindrops forecast to fall tomorrow , so Rory might stay in the pits .
  4. It's a man's track and it's producing some terrific and entertaining speedway .
  5. He now has a British passport and Edinburgh use him as one of their two Brits
  6. A certain degree of common sense has been applied to the rule book . The Redcar v Glasgow meeting was beaten by the curfew with Glasgow about to get a 5-0 in heat 10 . And Sunday's meeting didn't have anything riding on it , therefore why deny the paying public a competitive meeting when Harris had been instructed to go elsewhere .
  7. In Mitchell's previous incarnation as a Tiger , Scunthorpe was one of the tracks he rode very well . I remember him scoring double figures there one night for us , beating Magnus Karlsson along the way . Glad the boy had a decent meeting .
  8. I believe James Shanes is our guest reserve on Wednesday , along with Ryan Douglas again . Mason Campton and James Sarjeant at the dump on Friday . But I agree , Liam Carr rode well last night in what was an entertaining enough meeting , only Scunthorpe's weakness at reserve stopped them pushing us closer as their top end were very good . Aaron Summers looked a lot quicker last night and Richard was his usual reliable self at home , Richie was up and down , our guest got good practice in before Wednesday and young Jack had his most productive meeting for a while . Kerr and Douglas were the main men for the Scorpions as expected , Palm Toft had an awful opening ride , but rode well enough after that . Allan was a bit erratic at times , but was the only visitor to lower Aaron's colours . Decent enough crowd on a pleasant Autumn evening , good atmosphere , only downside was what Tyretrax alluded to . A 16% increase in the price of a pint is a bit naughty .
  9. Ryan McDonald is the track junior , so presumably a suitable guest for Aarnio couldn't be secured . Look at Sheffield last Saturday , they had two novices in their side as they couldn't get suitable replacements . Didn't stop them coming away with three points though .
  10. Nobody was giving Jack any abuse at all . We all realise that the lad needs time , you are a very strange type of Glasgow fan .
  11. Ah ok , I don't really follow the other league that closely .
  12. We won the cup last season , so that blows that statement out the water . Your posts on here seem to suggest you want the team you support to fail , very strange behaviour .
  13. With a forecast dryish day tomorrow , hopefully we'll get to see some speedway at last . Our injury woes are well documented and are still without Lunna , Bewley and Perry . Kyle Newman comes into replace Nike ( i think ) which would mean r/r for Dan , and Liam Carr comes in for Tom . I believe Scunny are using r/r for Josh Auty ( no idea what's wrong with him ) , and are using Ryan McDonald as a guest at number 6 . We have to win this one to get back on track , but the performances of both Ryan Douglas and Lewis Kerr last Saturday should ensure a bit of entertainment . In all honesty our three heat leaders should be looking at a big pay day in this one , but nothing is guarenteed with us lately .
  14. The cut off is the 17th i think , so presumably they can begin after that .
  15. Because when you are at home you can use a rider who's average is 5% higher than the rider he is replacing .
  16. You keep your winning ways for Saturday young lady
  17. You'll be in the Golf hotel then , I like that place
  18. That would be your biggest winning margin of the season
