Glasgow Vs Peterborough 17/09/17 - ClPaulco replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway And good practice on the track for Harris and Holder ahead of next Sunday . You couldn't rule either of them out .

Glasgow Vs Peterborough 17/09/17 - ClPaulco replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Stood on the back straight you could see Summers visibly shaking his head in frustration exiting the second bend . It was evident the bike didn't have the speed required . Seems to have been a recurring problem this season , he has the odd meeting where he looks the rider we know he is , but days like today have become the norm .

Glasgow Vs Peterborough 17/09/17 - ClPaulco replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Racing was poor apart from Worrall's ride in heat 13 to protect a slow Summers and keep Harris behind him . Peterborough were very good and looked like winning the meeting from pretty early on . Looked like Holder got a puncture in heat 1 , after that nobody got near him .

Thing is , Richard and Aaron are club assets , Richie is not . So that counts for something

Glasgow V Redcar Cl Sat 16th Sept 2017 @ 7pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Wasn't a classic last night , but the result was more important . Maybe it's me not being able to get into it the same with so many guests riding for us . But there was one or two decent races , especially when Barker was on track , wish he had rode like that more often when he was a Tiger .

Glasgow Vs Peterborough 17/09/17 - ClPaulco replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Sorry never started a thread , was at the speedway yesterday . Should be a more entertaining one today with Harris and Holder in opposition . Pressure is off as regards us having to get a result , and the weather is good , so lets have an enjoyable day at the speedway regardless who wins .

I think it's a given that it would be better for team spirit if Richard and Richie weren't in the same side . So if it came down to a choice , Richie is the more reliable away from home , so for that reason i'd plump for him back . Adding his twin brother would also be a good idea . If that's not possible then i'd approach Rene Bach about returning . I think Nike and Jack are stick ons to be back , not so sure about Dan as he hasn't kicked on this season as much as i'd hoped he would . After that , we seem to be taking an interest in both Ryan Douglas and Josh Pickering . I think Douglas might have visa issues which might rule him out , but getting Pickering from our feeder club would be a good move .

We always suspected they had their heads stuck in the sand , this only proves it

Glasgow V Redcar Cl Sat 16th Sept 2017 @ 7pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Has there ever been a situation where guests outnumber our regular septet ? I know we went to Armadale on Halloween one year for a Scottish Cup meeting with only Lee Dicken as one of our regular side , but i cant ever remember it happening in an official meeting . Just another example of how ill thought out it was making it a hard and fast rule that nobody could make a team change after 31st July . Keep going Boz , between our two sides we could beat some kind of record .
-
That's perfectly understandable . But it's extremely worrying that a prominent promoter thinks that way .
-
Must win match for both clubs , I think Redcar can still catch us . But the big question is .......will guests and r/r outnumber the regular team members ? For various reasons Glasgow are minus Lawson , Bewley , Lunna , Perry and Smith . A fine achievement indeed to have 5 team members missing . Not sure the make up of the Bears side , but I can't imagine they will be a full strength , nobody is these days . Getting to the stage where I wish the season would end .

Edinburgh V Glasgow Cl Fri 15th Sept 2017 @7-30pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Agreed , Topaz is not a person to make a snidy swipe . Just more a bit of frustration at Cook missing the Worky meeting to ride at Belle Vue , same as Richard .

After a disastrous run of form and injury woes , plus trying to cram meetings in before the cut off date , we could probably do without having to go to Armadale , but it is what it is and we just have to get on with it . I believe we've drafted in Mason Campton and James Sarjeant to patch us up a bit , but in all honesty Edinburgh look in much better shape than us at the moment and I cant see us repeating the result we got there earlier on this season . But we live in hope . We should just about scramble into the play offs to join Edinburgh , but I can't see either of us coping with both Sheffield and Ipswich over two legs .

Glasgow V Ipswich Cl Wed 13th Sept 2017@7-30pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Looks like our season is imploding big time , was nice while it lasted . Think we should just about make the play offs , but we're up against it given our current form .
-
The ice hockey scenario is the best answer . Whoever wins the league are the champions , then we have an 8 team two legged quarter final with the four winners going through to the play off weekend at Nottingham . We could do the same with a play off weekend in Manchester . Two separate tournaments .

Glasgow V Ipswich Cl Wed 13th Sept 2017@7-30pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Hope we can , Rory's bound to have a petted lip about the conditions and that could hamper them . We had the ridiculous situation a few years back when Birmingham missed out on the play offs by not being able to race enough fixtures by the cut off date , and ultimately finished second in the league once they had .

Glasgow V Ipswich Cl Wed 13th Sept 2017@7-30pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway We're down to go to Workington on the 23rd as well , which is after the cut off . The cut off date doesn't really affect much , Sheffield will top the league and will pick either us or Edinburgh , with Ipswich facing who Sheffield never picked . So if we have to run league fixtures after the cut off date , it doesn't really matter this season apart from the waste of time feeling those meetings have . But back on to tomorrow , it's battering down now and isn't forecast to stop for about 24 hours , so all the covers in the world wont make a difference here .

Glasgow V Ipswich Cl Wed 13th Sept 2017@7-30pmPaulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Yeah even when speedway hating Storm Aileen and her 75 mph winds piss off towards Scandanavia , she doesn't take the rain with her . It's forecast to linger around like an unwelcome relative at Christmas for most of the day tomorrow .

Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17Paulco replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League I think we've been brainwashed into thinking tracks have to be smooth and bald . I thoroughly enjoyed that last night , there were some terrific races , surely as a neutral that's what you want to see , rather than 15 heats of follow the leader on a one line track .
