He kept us in it last night . To a certain extent we got away with one last night , at one point I didn't think we would reach thirty points . So it's in the fun zone , are we capable of reaching 53 against Edinburgh at home - yes we are . But likewise are Edinburgh capable of reaching 39 at Ashfield - yes they are . So the second leg should be a cracker and should draw a big crowd , bring it on .

Whether Wood is better than Perry at Armadale is irrelevant as he won't cope with Grahn or the improving Loftus . After watching Hook virtually wave Palovaara through in heat 1 of our last visit there , the guest situation is a major worry for us . What these riders scored before there this season is no guarantee they'll do that as a guest . I can only assume we were forced into riding this fixture on a date when three of our riders were missing.

At home you can do that in the easier fixtures -

Shame I never saw you yesterday, haven't seen you since the Derwent Park days . Look yesterday was one of those days , it happens, Workington were better than us on the day . We still have much to look forward to , beat Edinburgh on Friday and we finish top . But we need to gate much better on Wednesday to have any chance of overcoming Poole in the KO Cup . -

Was looking forward to watching Nagel round the wide open spaces of the Northside track , but the Danish under 19's is such a important event in the grand scheme of world speedway . He's not quite at Thomas H Jonasson level at missing meetings for a Scottish club , but its getting close . -

Glasgow v Edinburgh KO cup second leg
Paulco replied to Weeyin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Job done in emphatic fashion last night , to start off with three 5-1's was amazing . You can only beat what's in front of you , but that was the worst Ashfield performance from a Monarchs side in many a year . Great to watch how our young pair at reserve are progressing week by week . Bring on the Pirates -

So what particular mickey mouse meeting god knows where has robbed us of half a team on Saturday? -
Maybe it's about time we considered moving into the Monday and Thursday league to enable us to track a full side . Once again we are a rider short because of some team GB meeting god knows where . And apparently next weekend is even worse. There are far too many of these weekend meetings abroad now and it is impacting us every week now . Anyway tonight was a decent meeting, well done both sides

Glasgow Tigers Vs Poole Pirates 6/6/25
Paulco replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I actually thought the size of the crowd was a bit disappointing considering who the opposition were .Where I stand on the back straight it was less crowded than usual . Anyway we set up a gaters track for a meeting against Poole probably wasn't the best idea , though they were the better team on the night . Bomber apart we weren't at our best Disappointing after our away heroics , but thats speedway , we move on . Poole look to be the team to beat again this season -
One KO Cup win and one title win in the past ten years suggests other clubs are more than capable of putting together competitive sides to challenge for honours regardless of budget limitations . If there was no points limit and we could sign seven heat leaders then the spoiling the league argument would have more substance

What has happened with Thomson , he used to be decent round Ashfield , he looked like a novice last night . -

Wouldn't be speedway if no one found something to moan about . I like beer , gaps in proceedings allows me to get some , thanks Mr tractor driver -

So if we go to Armadale and beat the Monarchs in the league , do we get to keep them ? Asking for a friend -
BERWICK v GLASGOW (BSN) Saturday, April 19 (7pm)
Paulco replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Welcome away win to start the BSN campaign . Much was made on this forum about how weak we are at reserve , so to get 11 between them on an away track was outstanding . -
Could be an Easter spectacular weekend against the Bandits with part one tomorrow night at Ashfield . This is the strongest looking Berwick side for many seasons with two ex GP riders spearheading them , assuming Kildemand is fit of course . They are backed up by a strong middle order and a promising reserve in Sam Hagon . We will have to improve a lot from last Friday to get the better of Berwick tomorrow night , should be a cracker of a meeting though

Paulco replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Though heat 13 was a classic . Disappointed we couldn't win on the night , but at least with Bomber you are guaranteed entertainment if things aren't going the way you'd hoped . Fair play to Edinburgh , impressed with Polis , Armadale might be a different proposition for him though . -

Kemp for Castagna does strengthen the Monarchs round Ashfield , plus gives Kemp track time before the real stuff starts next weekend . Palovaara at reserve could be troublesome for us , expect him to get 7 rides . Not sure how the new Monarchs will do , will Murder Polis be murder ? After last week's successful opening weekend for us , I hope we can build more confidence by piling on the points tomorrow night .
