I am Northampton born and bred and despite a lack of publicity (although the name and facebook page appearing yesterday) trust me there is a lot of talk locally even from non speedway fans , and in my humble opinion once it hits social media with blanket coverage they will hopefully reach 10000s of people with just 1 click , and once that happens news outlets and local TV will be all over it

yes, me and my son.. I started watching Speedway at Weymouth in the 80s whilst on holiday and travelled the country with them until the eventual demise , I also went to Coventry and Milton Keynes again until they closed too My lad used to come with me when he was young ( he's now 36 ) and we are looking forward to it . It all seems a bit quiet though on the Promoter/ Team/ Publicty front which is strange

the track is halfway between the villages of Brafield on the Green ( A428 Northampton to Bedford Rd) and Horton , so basically in the middle if nowhere

very harsh............

tim i think that is a very harsh statement.........and indeed one that also might have a detrimental effect on any possible takeover. Unfortunatly i dont get down to Weymouth that often now , but i can remember the absolute jubilation that followed the planning consent not that long ago,and the amount of support it generated not only from the local area, but indeed nationwide. Why has that support dwindled ? the current finacial climate may be to blame but also sadly an average team (the league position proving that point),complaints about track conditions, lack of facilities,eg bar and toilets.. has not helped. Ime not sure who you refer to when you mention "a great deal of people" but ime certain the vast amount of people who supported the club through the gate when it re-opened post Brian White..would do so again under the right circumstances. What would be sad is to see all the work put in by Jem Dicken, Rob Spicer, John Hawkins, Ray Collins, Julie Martin, Nick White...and also Phil, along with countless volunteers become a fruitless exercise only a few short years later.

A word of warning for all forumers who may have booked hotel rooms through an online agent for next years GP in Cardiff. Today i checked with my Hotel that they had my booking confirmed, unfortunatly the online site called STAY IN WALES .CO.UK had not booked the room at the hotel despite giving me a booking confirmation on August 28th this year. Can i suggest anyone else that has done this check with your hotel direct.

Question for all you knowledgeable speedway guys and gals........... Since the European GP was added to the list in 2000, has it ever been held in the UK? and what is the criteria for it ?? is it shared between the regular countries, or not. Just interested to know thats all........................

Gotta agree there macca, thought the start line girls were best this year, particularly the yellow one who kept kissing into the camera, and the one in red , how long was her hair???? As for Kelvin he was dissapointing, he was given the job of disposing of Millard once and for all and didnt grip tight enough. Obviously saw stardom when the choking commentator said "take over" and loosened his grip. Best send johnno next time, he will finish the job........................... ps ...........whats happened to sophie????
