  1. Thought I'd bring this back to the top. Weather looks set fair, and there's only bl**dy Champions League tosh on the box. Hopefully the crowd will be better than Monday night, to see 14 of the countries most promising youngsters in a full 15 heat match
  2. You really need to get out more Should be an excellent final round at Buxton with a number of riders in with a chance of winning the Championship
  3. Sounds good to me! I have it on good authority that Swift Saint will also be present
  4. Really looking forward to this meeting, hopefully the weather will be kind. Well done to Kings Lynn for putting this meeting on and giving the youngsters a chance to ride in a proper 15 heat meeting rather than the often rushed few laps after the main meeting at certain tracks. The chance to see 14 promising young British riders of the future will hopefully bring a decent crowd to the Norfolk Arena! Hopefully with this and the recent 3TT Junior meeting at Ipswich we are seeing clubs at last give our youngsters decent track time and hopefully more of these type of meetings will take place in 2009. I feel they are better than the 6 heat Academy meetings which often get hit by curfews etc and when they are run its often in front of emptying stadiums. Maybe the Chapmans would consider running a similar style meeting at Mildenhall once our season completes on 28th September
  5. Does anyone have full heat details / times for this meeting please?
  6. And is it a stand alone fixture or the second part of a d/h
  7. Hope to get to a couple of these, Wolves and Swindon. Is there anymore information on potential line-ups /squads? Would be good to see an Academy style Young England v Young Australia second half at these tracks. Aussies could track the Sedgmans, Sweetman and Ward for example!
  8. True David, and these are the best riders in the world trying to navigate it safely at speed
  9. One minute its excellent racing Ashie, then ........ make your mind up You must concede that this was one poor excuse for a speedway track! You should have been at Somerset last night, great racing on a PROPER speedway track
  10. The referee is a disgrace The track is a disgrace If this is the best Speedway can offer no wonder the sport is in a mess! The GP series is at a watershed, time for Speedway on speedway tracks!! Great to see Nicholls and Bomber going well, but its really a lottery. ***Post split from referee topic by mod to start new topic***
  11. Derek was excellent around West Row. Seem to remember him reappearing in the Conference League for Peterborough in the 1999 or 2000 season It would be good to hear what he's up to these days.
  12. An excellent magazine, well written and set out as you say Spegiel. Although not around in the 50's and 60's it was most interesting to read, and I'll certainly be getting future copies as at £3.50 its still great value for money. 48 pages printed on glossy paper with stacks of reading. On the subject of VFM, be careful anyone ordering from Speed-awaypromotions their Speedway Programme News. The advert amkes it sound really good but..... Recently received Issue 2, it took all of 5 minutes to read, had 12 yes 12 pages of which 1 was the cover and 1.5 pages adverts. All in all 9.5 pages on non glossy A5 paper for £4!!! 3 pages of which mainly showed old Arena programme covers from the last few years Certainly not value for money so be warned.
  13. Will you (clean cut) be filming both or either Pete?
  14. Indeed Bob Was hoping to see both! A race with Sajfutdinov, Holder and Tai would be something to see. But hey as Meatloaf said many years ago 'two outta three aint bad'
  15. Does anyone know when the semi final line ups will be announced?
  16. Does anyone know when the Semi Final line ups will be announced?
  17. BOB COLES ROBERT HENRY RAY BALES ILA TEROMAA
  18. Morris certainly was impressive Bob, really attacked the track. I was impressed to with Jake Knight (son of the only Fen Tiger to appear in a World Final I am realibly informed), who certainly seems to be showing considerable improvement as the season progresses
  19. Many Thanks DartfordHammer and Tabby3, much appreciated
  20. That's a shame Kye has been looking good. See you there tomorrow Mainman??
  21. The riders are as follows according to the Somerset Official site: 1) Joe Haines; 2) Ben Hopwood; 3) Adam Wrathall; 4) Kye Norton; 5) George Piper; 6) Richard Franklin; 7) Ben Reade; 8) Daniel Greenwood; 9) James Sarjeant; 10) Scott Meakins; 11) Brendan Johnson; 12) Shane Hazelden; No mention of the reserves or 250cc lads though.
  22. Could anyone please help with the numbers allocated to each rider in the GP series from 2001 - 2005. Many thanks PhilK
  23. It was in the original list Ben, Im sure, but you know how these things can change
  24. Is this meeting still going ahead? If so does anyone know the teams and their line ups please?
  25. It would be good Mainman if these could be sorted out in reasonable time mate, there are some people who would like to see them, but need more than a day or twos notice, no offence meant
