Ove has and always will be one of my favorites, and I got to sit on his Norwich track spare No2 at Poole in one of Broggo's Greatest meetings, also got to have a Pint and a conversation with the great man, a super Champion of all time

there was a Japanese rider who rode in Britain by the name of Jimmy Ogisu he rode in the Internationale at Wimbledon but was not very successful this was either late 60's or early 70's.

I Don't think the racing is any more boring than it was 20 years ago, I haven't been to a speedway meeting since Newport Closed, been Attending since 1964, it quickly became my equivalent of a night out at the pub /club . met up weekly with ( our gang ) and all the banter that goes with it. when Tim Stone re-introduced speedway, most of us met up again at our new club, the racing ,it was there some good some bad some breathtaking, it never seemed to matter,I find watching speedway as a neutral boring

When the Malletts re opened Newport they spent a fortune on Colin Meredith to work on the track , what he produced was so smooth and grippy every race win time was close to the track record, but passing was nigh impossible to go from 2nd to 1st you needed to break the track record, great for most riders terrible for spectators
