  1. shooting star will be on later ... but i think i know what the answer will be
  2. you forgot Richardson with England football, i used to go to every home game, and lots of away games following my team, shouting at away players, slagging them off, for 9 months of the year ... why do i then want to go and cheer for them for one night?
  3. oh dear, did someone say something not nice about Mr Middlo's team
  4. but a lot easier if you are riding a track week in week out.
  5. and you'll be one jumping up and down celebrating on Saturday if GB do better than 4th, and if they don't you'll still be saying how brilliant they were to get there and how proud you are.
  6. typical GB attitude i'm afraid. seriously need to look at this result as, although good for confidence, it was against three teams that were poor and made to look better than they are, and also on a track very well known by the GB team. Saturday will be a completely different meeting, and a 3rd place will be all GB can hope for at best. maybe i'll be proved wrong, but i just can't understand the number of threads on here congratulating GB, they've done nothing yet other than have a practise meeting on their own track.
  7. against poorer oposition it can make you look better
  8. i think you should hang onto that thought for a while, last night's score was no better than expected against some much weaker teams
  9. and so it begins .... Jonathan Green tells Nicholls rather enthusiastically that GB won more races than Denmark did in their semi ... does Green not realise the difference between Australia & Poland, compared to Sweden (minus Jonsson), Russia and USA wonder if they'll win more races than Denmark when they have to contend with Gollob & co, Crump, Adams, or even the Russians on a more suitable track.
  10. me i want to see them in Poland, hopefully the track will be more suited to them.
  11. funny where people are saying the Danes just set their bikes up for gating and a slick track ... well surely the rest can do the same?
  12. will be funny later, everyone will be going completely over the top if GB win comfortably, and so they should ... look at the group they're in, then look at the group from Saturday, considerably easier tonight. really looking forward to seeing the Russians, there's a couple in there that could cause a suprise or two, but Team GB should get high 50's or more points.
  13. i was just going to post a link on here but you beat me to it
  14. if Team GB do a 'Denmark' on Monday though, everyone will be creaming their pants
  15. i would disagree ... Kenny was a great rider and character in our sport, he deserves to be remembered
  16. nothing to argue about ... it was 26 years ago and i can't say i remember how the bike sounded. i will certainly ask the question though.
  17. yeah, and 82, and 83, and 84 i'll ask him sometime
  18. what can i say, Ivan was and is a winner, and anything he puts his name to he would want to succeed. no point replying, people have their opinions. Kenny and Ivan both heroes of mine so maybe i'd be biased, but i know Ivan wouldn't make a stupid decision like that.
  19. irony of that post if you think about the club Harris rides for
  20. Brad Oxley Archie Windmill was a tall chap too
  21. there's my choices to start with!!
  22. shame you only want BL riders for now ... Richard Green in the NL was one of the most entertaining riders out there think you're being very kind about Preben Eriksen ... that would take us back to Kelvin Tatum again and what Kelvin had to suffer thanks to Eriksen
