  1. Bartosz the Ice Man! Yep, that's a correct translation I'm told. Google's good at translating names...just ask Sebastian Fraction (Ulamek)
  2. Now imagine how much further up that learning curve they would be if the BSPA allowed them more regular international competition in the SEC and World Pairs. Oh dear, Germany beat GB, and they didn't even need penalties.
  3. L O L ??? Something intensely funny about the country that my father hailed from?
  4. Do I care, or do I have respect for Craig Cook? About as much as you have for Tai Woffinden, Trees. And as for your hatred of all things Polish, get over it !
  5. What's Cook done to get injured? He didn't look injured in Cardiff. He just can't face his Polish demons can he? Or is this a repeat of his "I can't afford to drive to Ipswich" excuse when he dipped out of the GB team in the test match against Australia, some years ago?
  6. And by the time anyone finds out for certain, it won't matter much anyway.
  7. James Chattin is a local lad. Saves on having to fork out on travel expenses.
  8. A 19yo who's been a track raker at Perry Barr for the last 2 years, according to the Brummies web site.
  9. Cutting capacity to just those 25,000 that can afford the increased priced that demand/supply economics will result in? What happened to Speedway for the many, not just the few? What happened to anti-capitalism and anti-globalisation? Will you need a British passport to get a ticket, to placate your pro-Brexit / anti-Polish contingent on here? Will there be concessionary prices for people on benefits?
  10. The Google translation of the press release may not have been up to SS standards...
  11. So we can add the Spillars to the Lambert/Woffinden "Britisher than thou" debate...
  12. And when it gets cold you can all huddle around an oil drum bonfire. Maybe the fans can show their support for their favourite riders by making cardboard placards and hold them up on big sticks?
  13. If you concentrated more on encouraging students into speedway instead of making inane quasi-political jokes, then maybe the sport in this country would be better supported and prosper as a result. Tell the students that that they can have free admission and that any debts incurred over the purchase of beer and burgers will be wiped out by the next Labour government...that'll work I'm sure.
  14. Incorrect! People DO object. Even at league meetings, anyone seen to be enjoying themselves seems to encounter the wrath of the old fuddy duddies who can't understand exhuberence or enjoyment and who think that speedway fans should behave like tennis fans at Wimbledon, only politely applauding in a respectful manner.
  15. Speedway is a £10 sport according to the British Scrooge Forum. Haven't you been reading?
  16. Disgusting behaviour. Why can't they just sit quietly in their folding camping chairs, and enjoy a nice cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich stored in thier tupperware boxes that they keep in their Adidas bags, like us civilised British fans eh?
  17. In recent years, the Wales rugby team have had Friday night matches, as well as 5pm kick off's, and this will continue into the future, with the rotating kick-off times that the 6 Nations fixtures produce. So that's only a limited answer, My friends from Germany estimate a 3.5 hour driving time to Felixtowe to get on the Chunnel train, so given that kind of distance radius in that kind of time, most people from south of the Pennines could have driven home after the event if they had wanted to. Last year I got a very handy B&B in Cardiff, a short bus ride from the stadium, via the Airbnb web site for just £25, booked 2 weeks before the event. So there are alternatives out there if you look for them.
  18. And how many of those were Polish? Without their presence, the attendance figure would have been really embarassing. And for those who complain about prices, just think how expensive it would be for someone on Polish wages to fly over here for this event.
  19. He'll be 31 before next season. Not many teams in Sweden and Poland share the Stoke Potters recruitment policy. It won't be easy for him, especially after last night's showing. That would apply to rugby fixtures too. You never see less than a capacity crowd in that stadium for rugby matches.
  20. One point at the expense of the track reserve and one point due to a coq-up by Potty Pawlicki. An embarrassing state of affairs for the British Champion in his home SGP. Matches his shambolic display in Leszno. Cannot cut the mustard when amongst the world's best. Nothing there to deserve a lap of "honour". Now take away the 10,000 that were the Polish fans for a better reflection of the state of the support for speedway from British fans...
  21. Stoke have got a 17y.o. rider?? Are they complying with the law by having employed a Child Protection Officer now? How will they cope with the expense of an extra employee on the payroll?
  22. Before they get that far, they would have to be seduced by Terry Russell's SloSpeed International Ltd outfit, as they have the sole privilages / responsiility for finding the BSPA / Leagues their title sponsors.
