  1. Yeah. Classic case of fans not getting any information. You'd have thought that when he was struggling to meet his 2 mins time allowance that something was being said about receiving attention of the paramedic, or something...but nothing was said. He missed his programmed ride, under the 2 minute rule, without being substituted out first, and then he was substituted out of his last ride...all very odd. I'm sure that there will be a reasonable explaination for this though.
  2. There was more to the Lawlor situation than met the eye. He was none-too-happy on the centre green after he was forced to retire in that race, and didn't appear again for the rest of the meeting. I hope the young lad didn't have a temper tantrum in the pits, that needed "dealing with". Or was he injured by the escaping chain?
  3. Hay can gate and when he learns to ride the last 3.5 laps like he rides the first half a lap, he'll be fine. Needs to remember to turn left at the corners too.
  4. How does that compare to Coventry City FC who also play there?
  5. No idea about what the score will be. Let's just hope for an injury free meeting as with so many young and inexperienced riders there are bound to be a lot of falls. Just hope they are not bad ones.
  6. Birmingham Speedway, in Perry Barr, Birmingham = £13 for over 16's & £2 for under 16's - average attendance 500-600ish *** Birmingham Athletics, in Perry Barr, Birmingham = £50+ to see Usain Bolt for 10 seconds,- attendance 50,000+ Don't tell me that people don't have money to spend. If the product is right they will come. If the product is pants it will be hung out to dry. Simple as. ***EDIT - attendance estimate is an observational estimate of what was evident in 2016. The prices are those for 2017. The 2017 attendance figures may drop significantly from 2016 due to the withdrawal of OAP's concessionary prices, as this will have an impact on the majority of the fan base. The product may have been worth £8 to them in the past, we will have to wait and see how many think it will be worth £13 this year.
  7. Or the company that you keep lol.
  8. A complete stadium can be built in 4 months? I look forward to seeing progress reports and photo updates in the coming weeks.
  9. Is anyone keeping a register of which rider is on what bike? Might be interesting for the Speedway Updates people, to annotate their scorecharts with a (G) by the name for Gerhard engine equipped rider, or (J) for those riding Jawa / JRM machinery, or leaving it blank for those on GM so that we can tell how riders on alternative equipmnent fare against each other.
  10. A careful avoidance of referring to it as a Dogging Track
  11. There's a MDL section elsewhere on BSF where people more expert than Brummies fans may be able to help with the answers to your questions
  12. Is all this MDL stuff on the Birmingham thread indicative of where the Brummies will be racing after Tony Mole retires?
  13. How about having age brackets? The best u20 team? The best u25 team? The best over 30 team (Stoke?)
  14. Interesting article. And even more interesting will be the outcomes of the court cases. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/kodi-laws-illegal-legal-streaming-12491422
  15. I'm assuming that this is for amateur riders of any age? Has anyone thought of lightening the load on the (say) under 15's by having 250cc racing? I was well impressed by the 250cc racing that I saw as part of a German meeting at Gustrow last year. If it's an another rung on the ladder it may help some make it onto that step rather than just balking at the prospect of going all out at 500cc before they are ready for it. Surely it's not beyond the wit of man, to construct a race formula whereby 250cc races and 500cc riders are combined in a team and the races are worked out so that some heats are for 500cc and others are for 250cc? I wouldn't mind betting that some of the better 250cc riders may even be able to beat the less able 500cc riders if both types of bikes were allowed to race against each other.
  16. The slow progress of building the stadium is obviously so boring that the folk of Swindon so much that they are turning to other forms of entertainment... http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/pervert-capital-uk-revealed-highest-10066159
  17. Just went past the track on my way to work...it's rather wet. Wait for the official announcement but my guess is that even duck racing would get rained off tonight.
  18. Let's see what the weather allows to happen in the next 6ish weeks.
  19. Macauley Leek finished the 2016 season with a higher average than Harvie Banks. A proven race winner too, with two first places away from home and one win on the notoriously tricky Drye House circuit.
  20. An awful lot of fuss for the sake of 100 x 20p = £20.00 of revenue. And what if you were to charge 20p? All you'd get is the usual suspects on BSF complaining about 20p for an A4 sheet of paper that they can download for free off BSF...You (nobody) can win with this matter.
  21. Maybe the new housing estate will have a road named to commemorate that. Imagine buying a house in Steepshale Crescent. How's the construction work there coming along?
  22. Drury'so methodology over the last couple of years is that early season injuries are covered by designer guest bookings. Wouldn't surprise me to see Kyle Bickley in red and yellow on occasions (but not within 8 days this time) until his assessed 3.00 average increases and he is no longer available. Don't be surprised if that process takes as long as it takes a bone to heal.
