  1. The title of this topic refers to the recent meeting between Workington and Poole. Any general discussion about the whys and wherefores Poole have the team line up they have, should be discussed under the general "Poole" section !
  2. Could we please set this chat back to its title. Use your own chat group if you want to talk about Poole Riders !
  3. Cant find anything in print to confirm it, but I believe two people died in the crash ? Anyone able to confirm this ?
  4. Is this not because unlike our lads, Belle Vue own his visa/contract/thingy ?
  5. I would think we will be lucky to get our home meeting on NEXT SAT 12th July ! These things can take weeks to sort out. I hope I am wrong, but only time will tell.
  6. Just to clarify...its the HOME meeting at Northside that has been cancelled and this was only done today. I would imagine Berwick have had to get the agreement of Workington management in order to do so. I believe the Bandits are now riding against Edinburgh instead.
  7. I believe the home meeting against Berwick on Saturday is also now cancelled.
  8. Got to admit, I have been curious about the increasing presence and keen involvement of George English, ex Newcastle Diamonds promoter. Hmmm ?
  9. Dont be silly Geoff !! Dont you know that the Polish authorities rule the entire speedway world ??? Thought you would have worked that one out by now !!
  10. We know how unpredictable the weather can be, so we had better hope it is just that..but on the BETTER side. Not a good forecast !
  11. Problem is, the heavy overnight rain may well have eased by 8am Saturday (as forecast currently). BUT...the track could be waterlogged by then. And understandably our management dont want to take any financial risks in attempting to run the meeting, when it might have to be be called off on Saturday morning ! On recent trends I would guess we are looking at an early call off...possibly Friday night ! Plus a dull overcast day could well impact on crowd numbers, even if they did run it.
  12. New date for this KOC fixture has been announced....Sat 24th May at 3pm, https://workingtoncomets.com/fixture-update-edinburgh-h/
  13. I have been told by someone that spoke directly with Andrew Bain a few weeks ago, that there are plans to test the idea of later start times in Summer. It appears that one of the July meetings will be trialled to run at 6pm. This would allow people who cant normally go to the 3pm fixture because they are at work, to attend. I think anything is worth a try, to increase attendances !
  14. It was absolutely BALTIC on the back straight stand ! I have never felt so cold in my life. Being in the shade all afternoon didnt help. As soon as left the stadium and passed through the entrance gate, the temperature shot up incredibly ! How weird !
