Our final TWO signings for 2019 will be announced TONIGHT at 5pm. Must be one of the quickest team signings we have had in recent years ?

Its funny that you should say that, as I heard the same thing directly from a speedway manager the other day ! He said there is a rule that says each club has to own so many riders, but I cant for the life of me remember how many it is ?

Better make sure you have a PLENTIFUL supply of spare tapes if Mr Sarjeant signs for ya !

I can assure you that IF (a big ask) Dan Bewley is fit for the 2019 season, very few teams in the championship would risk having him in their squad. Why ? Well because he would be involved in sooooo many individual competitions that he would be missing from a lot of meetings. (Not to mention his foreign commitments !). You are probably right in that Rene Bach wont sign for the Comets, but equally he might not sign for ANYONE...rumours are that : a) He wants to spend time with his newborn to be (Due in April) b) He could have BIG probs being released from his job in Denmark. Apparently it proved very difficult in 2018, but somehow he managed it, but I suspect it may not be as easy for him in 2019 !

Could you possibly write that again in "Queens English" please ? Lol.

Geoff...Dan will NOT be returning to Workington in 2019. If (and at the present time thats a BIG "If",) he is fit to ride in 2019, he would have far too many individual commitments with other competitions both home and abroad to make it practical for him to ride here. He would be missing from our 1-7 far too often ! Sorry to disappoint !

I an not a Brum supporter, but have speedway "connections" indirectly shall we say. I was talking with a person who is "in the know" tonight, and his opinion is that the lack of any communication is not good news for Brum , and he feels that its looking like they have had a change of mind, and are now possibly staying put. I hope for you guys you find out soon, even if its not good news, at least you will then know. Good Luck Guys !

Yeah, but he has to factor in the cost of a bottle of water at Scotch Corner Services Geoff (!!) (I wonder if their profit margin is as good as some "retailers" of bottled water ? )

I have also heard that Ty was a disruptive person in the pits, and regularly upset people. I dont know how true that was, but if it was true then maybe its a blessing in disguise for us that he has moved on.

Your having a larf ! He aint coming back here...we gave him a chance when no one else wanted him. He has improved his average greatly and been a fantastic rider for the Comets....so his response is likely to be "thanks..but I aint staying with ya in 2019" !!

If I am not mistaken, our team at the beginning of 2018 was built to some degree of a "Budget"....but look how we ended the season !

Rasmus will really upset a lot of Comets fans if he has succumbed to what are tantamount to BRIBES by a certain other club ! He stated publicly at the End of Season do that he LOVED WORKINGTON and wants to ride here in 2019 for us if at all possible. What will all those words actually mean if he doesnt ?

My money is on our first signing being Mason. I think they will keep the likes of our heat leader announcements till last.

They had better keep their hands off OUR Razzer...else there will be a certain Comets "witch" setting the most unpleasant curse on them !

Fantastic news for management, riders, and fans, that we are running in 2019. I have ALWAYS been proud to be a Comets fan, ever since going there with my dearly departed dad, way back in 1970. But I am prouder than EVER right now !! Lets hope TJ has a MUCH easier year planning fixtures etc...he has been through HELL and back this year. Congrats to all involved in bringing us back next year. "WE BELIEVED" !!!

On announcing the abandonement of the 2nd meeting, Dave Hoggart said that checks had been made with the SCB before doing so !! So there will be NO FINE !

There will be live BBC Radio Cumbria commentary from Derwent Park on Sunday evening...with James Philips and John Walsh (remember him ?) . They also have a guest commentator doing his bit too.. I beleive he is called Stonehewer (or something like that!)

Met Office now showing TORRENTIAL RAIN from 3pm till 9pm at Rye House ! This competition could end up with a "one leg final" at Workington tomorrow.

I have a sneaking feeling that "Stobart Air" might have a teensy weensy issue if you build a speedway track on their newly laid runway ! It would also make an interesting touch down if you have just travelled with them from Dublin !!
