I can assure you that Tony Jackson will definetly NOT be getting back into running a speedway team ! He told me so himself only a few days ago. He is now happy to take a back seat and enjoy speedway from a supporters point of view.

My feelings exactly ! No more "unknown" riders now please ! Give us two riders with an established pedigree !! Fans always like "familiarity" with riders !

And without any doubt whatsoever Kauko was the very nicest guy in speedway ! He would ALWAYS stop and spend time to talk to you, wherever he was and whatever he was doing. An absolute out and out GENTLEMAN, who I miss seeing a lot.

I dont imagine its that simple mikebv. Money will have had to be up front to join championship and knowing the powers that be....that money will be "non refundable". So its not poss to drop back to the NDL. The question I want the answer to, is why were the Comets told there will be no NDL next year, and as a result were asked to join the championship, then all of a sudden AFTER they had agreed to do that, the powers that be suddenly reinstated the NDL ?? All very strange if you ask me !

Supersteady84....we werent given the OPTION of staying in the NDL !! At the time we were approached to ride in the Championship, the BSPA or powers to be, told the club that the NDL as such, is being ABANDONED ! So we had the "choice" of not running a team at all, or joining the championship, with all its additional costs. Some choice ! Then "AMAZINGLY"....after we had agreed to join the championship, the powers that be suddenly reinstated the NDL ! Now isnt that just more than a little bit "odd" ???

Thats only a rumour. Talking to Peterborough supporters on Sunday, they confirm that Peterborough Speedway has NOT yet closed down. !

I think its still in one of those large containers in the pits, that the wonderful Rugby Club or Council are trying to charge ground rent for.. to the speedway management. They are SUCH nice people arent they !

What I said regarding the likelihood of the Comets taking to the track again next year John, is a combination of your interesting posts on here, and other reports. I am not saying it WOULDNT be happening, but its highly unlikely ! Sorry that you didnt get to know first about this one mate !

There is little likelihood of any bikes going round a track...(from what YOU said anyway.)

I agree this doesnt look good at all for the future of the Comets, and on the face of it, it LOOKS to many of us that Laura was in much greater debt than we imagined. But this may NOT be the case....Laura and her brother had MANY business interests, and "LJM Asset Management" might just have no financial connection to the speedway business she runs ? So maybe try not to pre-judge the effect of its demise has or has not, on the Comets....yet ?

Shamefully I have to admit, that I have NEVER voted in my entire life..............................................TILL NOW !! No prizes for guessing which party I WONT be voting for then !

So can I ask why on earth are you still taking part in a speedway forum ?
