  1. (1) Reduce the fixtures and run the season May - Sept. Run the league fixtures once and you'll half the current losses, decrease the amount of fixtures and you may increase the demand of fans who attend them. (2) Six man teams -- refresh the concept. (3) Loyalty perks, e.g. reduced entry for season ticket holders at different tracks, and reduced admission to encourage more to attend.
  2. Congratulations to Peterborough for Conquering The Streak.... *Cue Paul Heyman*
  3. Then what? Stay here and make pennies? I don't blame Woffinden, it would be good all round to have one set race night, or the top attractions will just bugger off. British Speedway has no bargaining power whatsoever, and in ten years time will have no tracks either.
  4. They are a rich country... do you know how much a beer costs over there?
  5. You would have thought the riders would have twigged on and tried to avoid it. I said that two seasons ago and haven't looked back since
  6. Six matches down, and progress to the title? Third off bottom. You're in cuckoo land if you think Newcastle will win anything this year. Edinburgh will probably walk the lot. It's not him whose average I would be looking at for next season. Suppose nothing. I couldn't care less -- I don't follow minor sports which involve people kicking a ball around a field, bores me to tears.
  7. Probably as it's the link to the same page every single time. Just post a direct link to the pdf, without the paragraphs of justification and they'll probably stay on the thread? Has to be said that is an awesome racecard design!! Never see anything like that before! Great job!
  8. I'd just write this season off as a "building year" ala 2009, and we all remember what happened in 2010... Not concerned at all.
  9. When we switched to playoffs for the title quite a few Newcastle ones did as well
  10. The team should be capable enough of scoring sufficient points at home that an EF or fall shouldn't matter.
  11. Emphasises the sheer bloody stupidity of it even more doesn't it?
  12. Great to see Chris Harris pick up where he left off, on his much anticipated return to the GP series
  13. Good scoring record, reassess him to a 7.00
  14. Agreed to an extent. I get fed up every season of reading "press releases" from clubs begging and threatening closure if their current crop of fans don't attend matches or donate money to buy stuff. The fans already contribute enough IMO through admissions, matchday magazines, merch etc, and it's far too easy for a promotion to send out a threatening press release, rather than trying to attract new fans themselves or getting their own finances in order. Yeah we need more clubs, but constantly crying wolf about closing is getting beyond a joke. Almost as regular as British Gas putting the prices up each winter. How about using some of the new TV deal money instead? They've gone for a low budget league anyway, so skim the money into an air fence for IOW instead.
  15. You may wanna suggest that to the other 15 riders in the field, as they'll be spending most of their time in front of this Brit.
  16. Yeah, but they're still pretty high. Adult, Program and Car Park -> £18.50 if you buy them online, or £19.50 on the day. That's about 4 trips to the cinema on a cheap day, 13 hours of Snooker table time (with a friend), or 8 pints of freshly brewed real ale in my local pub... Can see why I didn't attend any matches last season now! lol That, and the playoffs which give everyone a season of meaningless matches...
