  1. I'd just like to say what a brilliant meeting it was last night. Lots and lots of passing/entertainment for us viewers, one of the best gp's i've ever seen. I was disappointed scotty couldn't make it but tbh he just didn't have quick enough engines. He lead his last race against gollob and aj but got passed just because he couldn't keep up with there speed. I think a change of engine tuner is definatly needed now for scotty. His old man has been doing his engines for a long while now but if scotty wants to be the best he has to change tuners. Anybody have the number for mr karger?!!!
  2. I've got to say the track was crap, only one real line on the white line. Really pleased for greg, he's a lovely guy and he did a great move on antonio in the final. also a mention for scotty, rode his heart out dispite riding with a collorbone injury, better than some other brit! i respect any rider who gets on a speedway bike but rico is just taking the biscuit at the moment. i think a year away from the gp's may help him next year.
  3. Has it been confirmed whether scotty is riding or not? I guess he will ride but anything official?
  4. Scotty should be in there whether he qualifies in the top 8 or not, he's our top rider and we need him in there. Between bomber and loramski, i'd have either, both are great value for money and would be great additions to the gp series. The only thing that goes against mark is his age but if he is good enough then..... You know what the simple answer is to this don't you, have all 3 in there!
  5. totally agree with the last post. I suppose i'm very biased towards scott but i don't care what people think. Personally, i think scotty shouldn't have been excluded i mean where was he supposed to go? I fully support scott as i am a british person who supports any british rider. We all have our favourites. As for his swearing, it wasn't as bad as hans' at reading kicking and screaming. I was amazed at nicki pedersen's and hans andersen's reactions to there falls. How many times has nicki & hans took somebody wide / into the fence! When somebody does it to them they don't like it at all do they. Oh and bye the way, Hans andersen, you are supposed to turn left on the bends not on the straights!
  6. I am fully behind scotty. Us british fans have been crying out for a british gp winner for ages and when we get close some still moan! Amazing! Ok, scotty was lucky but you need a bit of luck sometimes. I agree, he may never be world champion, but with everybody's support maybe he can win a gp? Far to many british people support foreign riders before there own riders and it gets on my nerves. For example, british people supporting denmark in the world cup for instance! It made me laugh when you saw the supposed danish fans when the danish national anthem was playing!!! All silent!!!
  7. I don't think middlo should have the boot, look the chap has only done the best job he can with the riders that are available. Over the last couple of years we have had some bad luck with injuries. Personally, i would bring in chris louis for steady for the final. We cannot win the world cup with 4 riders so i think chris has to come in. Steady is a good young rider but he has plenty of time on his side and he will get more chances in the future. Also, we need to start making some starts and a bit of grip on the track tomorrow would be nice!!! Whoever rides i will support team gb. Come on TEAM GB!!!
  8. Well i haven't had chance to watch it again yet but from what i saw last night at reading, i fully back scotty. Hans andersen nearly stuck him up by me on the 4th bend in that one race! It's great to see really determination by the british lads, more than those footballers will ever do.
  9. I cannot see how middlo can change the team. Danny bird in the team, do me a favour. I think he is only in the squad incase off the dreaded injuries. I've nothing against the lad but come on, this is the world cup and he would be riding against top riders in every heat. I don't think a premier league rider should really be considered for a world cup. Keep the team the same, ok steady may not be the best round reading but get a bit of dirt on the track and you never know. Rememeber he is riding for his country so he may do better. Whoever rides, get behind them, whether you like them or not. Come On TEAM GB!
  10. Yes agree, it was a great meeting, lots of passing and incidents. Really good to watch on the tv. The brits did us proud, great team effort. If only bomber could make a start, he would be a great rider. Lets hope the meeting on tuesday is of the same quality. Lets all get behind the brits, get those flags and air horns out at reading!, i know i will!
  11. Great performance from team gb, very nearly pulled it off. Ok, we might not have 5 off the best riders in the world but they do show lots and lots of guts and determination, fair play to them. Onto the race off, i do reckon we have a good chance there. I would rather face poland than the aussies at reading, that's 4 sure. Best of luck to all the boys. Everybody who can get down to reading on thursday, get down there and support the lads. COME ON TEAM GB!!!
  12. Yeah agree, poles and aussies are going to be very hard to beat. Should go straight through to race off. Well if we cannot beat the finns then we shouldn't be in the bloody thing should we! I'm very surprised Chris Louis isn't in the team, man on form, lee richardson not at his best at the moment. Danes would have been unstoppable i think with jbj in there team. poles straight through to final and aussies and gb through to the race off is my predition.
  13. Totally agree with everybody on this subject. smithy and leigh lanham should both be in the qualifers. It just makes the support look a farce and people wonder why crowds at some tracks are down! if the british final was advertised as a qualifier for the gp then it should be a qualifer! ok smithy is 40 but wouldn't it have been nice to see him get in with the big boys and show them what he's made of! leigh lanham definatly deserved his chance, i think he's a very underrated rider. He has a higher average than many other british riders who are in the swc squad and deserves a chance. well, lee and eddie may have been 'SEEDED' but let's just face it, they won't get through to the gp's next season anyway!
  14. I totally agree with recent posts about how lee richardson and eddie kennett have been selected. Surely if there were qualifers from the british final then they should do it. What's the point of saying that there are qualifers from the british final if nobody wants to do it! Maybe a better way to do it would be to ask the best riders first eg. nicholls, loram, stead etc.. if they want to do the qualifers. If they don't then just go down the list of riders, maybe in average order, until you get the riders who want to do them. Then at least you would of asked the best available riders if they want to do them. Maybe this should be done for all other country's qualifers? At least then you could say that the best riders would be in it, if they want to do them! I've also noticed that 3 go through from the qualifers, the top 8 from this year and 4 nominated riders. Great, we are going to need another nomination again for next season! Can only see scotty being in the gp's next season unless bomber or steady can come through the qualifers.
  15. I'm glad i'm not the only one how noticed that chap with the piece of paper, I thought, what the hell's he doing? I bet a few of the riders were wondering what he was doing keep walking out in front of them before the start of a race. Also, i'd just like to say a big well done to hans andersen on a great performance last night. Hans has certainly showed the men at the top what they are missing. He scored last night as many as Niels K. Iversen has scored over 5 rounds and more than doubled what pepe has over 5 rounds! Well done hans. Also it must of been great for the Danish fans to have TWO finalists and a winner from them. Imagine what it would be like at cardiff if a british rider won, well we will have to wait a while longer for that of course!
  16. well for the round in poland you have to go with riders who have polish league experience/ fast motors. i think steady an scotty pick themselves, it's bomber's home polish track, has to be considered. Mark loram, if allowed! Dave Norris in poland, not sure. Lee richardson, got polish experience but not in form, do you take the chance? look what he did in poland last year in the swc. chris louis, riding in poland again this year, might be considered. joe screen, has experience. My team for poland would be: Scotty Steady Mark Loam Lee richardson bomber reading well thats a different mater. again scotty an steady pick themselves. dave norris round reading has to be certain, lee richardson, well depends whether in form or not. mark loram, again picked if allowed! bomber, maybe joe screen, possible chris louis, possible. my team would be for reading: scotty steady dave norris mark loram lee richardson have to agree with pirate paul, havvy in the pits would be an excellent idea, two heads instead of one with middlo. lewis bridger, way too early for the young kid, remember he's only 16! nice idea but not at the moment.
