  1. We were sat just before the exit of the fourth bend on the second row of the second level and we had a brilliant view of the whole track and one of the big screens. And, luckily for us, we were sat with a few others who were supporting the Danes (though everyone was on their feet cheering for Bomber by the final). I would definitely take these seats again... though next year might try the same kinda area but on the first bend. Roll on 2008!!
  2. My first British GP... in fact, my first GP ever, and I had the best time EVER! I couldn't be happier for Bomber. He completely deserved that win, and everyone in the stadium could see that he absolutely rode his heart out... what a star! Massive congratulations Bomber And I must say sorry to anyone who ended up with glitter all over them (especially the two guys sat in front of us)... it was probably off my flag!!
  3. Nicki, Hans, Bomber, Howe final... I wish! I think it'll be a win for Nicki (if he's all better now, that is), followed by Hans, Adams and Bomber, though I'd love to see Bomber on the podium in his home country(ish). I think the crowd are really going to get behind him which will be a fantastic confidence boost, so we shall see.
  4. I'll be there, with hubby and friend in tow... I guess I'll know where the POW is if I follow the noise!? Really looking forward to this weekend - my first time at Cardiff and a chance to meet up with some good friends. Oh, and I get to wave my glittery Danish flag
  5. Bridger?? Really?? What about David Howe at reserve with Kennett? I agree that Steady should get the wildcard, as it was (supposedly) a toss up between him and Bomber for the full 2007 GP series. And Kennett has been having a good season so far, so makes sense to put him at reserve; but David hasn't disappointed this year (so far). Like a few others have said tho, I don't really think we can say til after the British final.
  6. I love anyone to beat that man Crump, but for it to be Bomber, and in the final, has just made my evening He looked really pleased as punch standing on that podium knocking the champers back, and he has every right to. Massive MASSIVE congratulations to Mr Harris... I think I'd better get a Union Jack to accompany my Danish flag for Cardiff!!
  7. Yay, go Nicki! Almost flawless... but perfect enough I think he's well on his way to his second world title Just kicking myself that I never got round to putting my bet on the forum game this time round (damn wedding plans getting in the way of everything!!), coz, as last time, I'd definitely have chosen Nicki
  8. Have just watched the meeting from last night, and while it was quite boring at times, I'm well chuffed with the result Bomber went really well - what a great debut, which he looked really pleased with and so he should. Hans had a bit of bad luck on the night. Winning heat one by a mile til it was re-run... almost taken out by Bjarne... but he just didn't have what it took to get to the final. I know it's only one of 11, but Nicki has been on fire all season and I really hope he carries it through until October.
  9. Get used to seeing it! Can't wait for it all to start... I know many people have said it's going to be Crump and Hans battling for the title, but don't discount Nicki P
  10. No, no, no, no, and... erm, nope! I do wish him all the best, tho I'm afraid I'll be flying my Danish flag at Cardiff for Hans and Nicki
  11. Slightly sticky situation, but this is it briefly: Last week everyone in the company was given a 3% raise (just an annual thing). I've been here going on two years now and not had a "proper" raise, despite improving immensely, taking on more responsibility and coming through my probationary period and appraisal with flying colours. So I thought it was reasonable to ask for a raise, which I did and they said no. That's fair enough, and although I think their reasons are rubbish, I accept it. My immediate boss then emailed me and asked if everything had been explained properly. I replied saying yes thank you, but I explained that I wasn't happy with the decision and I would be keeping half an eye open for a new job as I knew there were other jobs out there with a higher salary. Following this I "stumbled" across something where my boss had told her boss about the email I had sent back and she had said "this just shows her immaturity and arrogance". That's fine if that's her opinion, but how dare she tell my superior this behind my back, while she continues to act nice as pie to my face! Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm not immature or arrogant, I think she simply took my email the wrong way, and if she'd spoken to me rather than gone behind my back I could've explained this. I hate two-faced people who don't have the guts to say something to your face, it's not like I'm gonna bite if she'd have approached me rather than taking this route. So now I know what she thinks it's a very uncomfortable working environment and I want to get out ASAP. Hope that explains everything!
  12. Aww thank you Mike... I wouldn't settle for just anything, but after the revelations of the last few days at work I just want out... and fast!
  13. Yep I could... shame it's not a little closer. Anyone know of any other speedway-related jobs up for grabs in the Cambridgeshire area!? Or anything really??
  14. Thanks Andy. That would mean 700 miles a week from here!! Hmm, think that would probably be over-doing it... unless there's a train...... Sorry, just thinking aloud - don't mind me!
  15. How far from Peterborough to Broxbourne??? Andy - looks like they're George's contact details in the first post
  16. Is there somewhere that everyone meets up after the GP on Saturday night? It's our first Cardiff GP and we're staying at a Travel Inn just outside Cardiff on the Saturday night, and it would definitely be good to meet up with people and have a drink (or three!)
  17. Have to agree with you there... and heat 7 if Scotty makes it! Any news on whether he will anyone?
  18. How typical though that for the past few years I haven't been able to go because of exams at school, college and uni... and NOW they change it But I am all set for next year so I'm not complaining!
  19. I've got a family room at Bridgend Pencoed Travelodge (just did a Google search for Travelodge!), as all the others that were any closer were full up! It's £49 and sleeps up to three adults. It says 20 miles from Cardiff, so we'll probably get a train from there. Unless anyone can tell us anything closer??? But I thought I'd better book this coz I don't fancy kipping in the car!
  20. Thanks Boggle - I was thinking that £50 seems to be in the middle so I think that's what we will go for. I know what you mean about the atmosphere there, have been for international ruggers and it was great! Thanks again!
  21. I've never been to the Cardiff GP before and am just about to book tickets - can anyone recommend which price bracket to go for? There's £29, 35, 40, 50, 55, 60 and 75. What's the differences??? Any advice gratefully received!
  22. Thanks for that... Congrats to Jonus for getting that second reserve place!
  23. RIP Toni. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Such a sad loss.
  24. I didn't know anything about this. Does kind of go to show that perhaps it wasn't just a handful of Brits that were getting rowdy after all. Such a shame that a highly enjoyable day has to end with this kind of conversation.
