  1. Tried to post a cartoon which says : Let me interrupt your expertise my confidence
  2. Not much to choose between Wethers and Howarth around Newcastle and it’s hard finding guests who have low enough averages and ride well around Brough so I’m ok with the guests chosen. Still fancy it will be a home win, not confident our heat leaders enjoy riding the track.
  3. We are very lucky at Redcar to have an excellent promotion and that’s why it’s a shame Jitendra is standing down at the end of the season.
  4. Just one of those nights. Glad it could get through to 10 heats, but even that was a struggle. Hope the injured lads are ok.
  5. Let’s see how they do tonight......oh, hang on!
  6. Might have something to do with the fact he’s been poor getting out of the gate this year and is having to make extra effort to get to the front ?
  7. Hard to predict a score even with the usual Bears 1-7 but with so many guests and a question mark over Charles fitness, it makes it even more difficult. On paper the guests look like good choices, but they did at Birmingham so who knows. Newcastle are pretty hard to predict too, but should go better here than a lot of away tracks.
  8. Cheers. He’s had a few crashes in the last few weeks so might be an accumulation of those. Fingers crossed as we are already down 4 riders and can’t afford to lose him.
  9. How bad did Charles Wright’s fall look last night? I see he is missing tonight for Belle Vue. At this rate we could have 4 guests and R/R on Friday!
  10. Obviously the better team won on the night, given the level of victory, but gutted to go out in the circumstances surrounding this match with only half of our own riders. That’s no disrespect to the guests, who were good choices, but you want to win or lose with your “own” team. Leaves a bitter taste the whole affair but nothing we can do about it now.
  11. So now it’s 3 Bears, 3 guests and R/R for Redcar in a match that shouldn’t be taking place at all. Welcome to British Speedway.
  12. Yes, Dan Thompson and Drew Kemp confirmed (the good old Rising Star system in full effect again) and R/R still for the Bears.
  13. Birmingham with the same 1-7 as the first match (remember that far back?) Redcar missing 2, probably 3, of the team that rode that meeting. Not sure who is guesting for Jordan Jenkins and assume it’s still R/R for Stewart.
  14. Obviously pleased with the 4 points, especially as Charles didn’t score particularly well. Pleased to see Sarjy get some points and big thanks to Drew Kemp again. Kings too reliant on 2 riders again and feel for the fans having to see the same riders struggle every week. Hope things pick up for them, need a few home wins to keep the fans onboard.
  15. Bears using Drew Kemp and Jordan Palin as replacements for Anders Rowe and Jordan Jenkins. In the circumstances probably the best replacements available given that the 2 missing lads both have a lot of experience around Kent. Bears really need to win if they have a chance of the play offs, but no idea how some of the lads will ride the track seeing it for the first time.
  16. I think he is riding. He rode well in the semi final and was unlucky to miss out. Shame that both Bears will be missing, they would have had a good chance.
  17. Not that many though - have to get lucky with availability etc.
  18. Another blow to the Bears, Jordan Jenkins our for a while with a broken wrist. Only able to replace with a 2* rising star and he’s been riding better than that. Missing 3 of your starting 7 is not ideal.
  19. I stand corrected (said the man with the built up shoe). One exclamation mark would have been enough
  20. We have a very good and fair race track here which gives us little home track advantage, but produces very good racing as just about all opposition riders feel comfortable. Harris rides it as well as anybody and enjoyed watching Shanes and a few others really give it a good go.
  21. Heat 14 was a 5-1 to the Brummies and Kemp wasn’t in Heat 13 but apart from that glad you enjoyed the night and the racing.
  22. Well a win for the Bears, which is a relief after recent results, but a far from comfortable one. The inconsistencies, particularly out of the gate, continue and they seem to make it hard work every week. Birmingham will probably feel they could have got more than the point they did get, particularly in how Heat 13 played out, although that did allow them to bring in Harris in Heat 14 to replace the ineffective Morris, so it probably evened out. Heat 13 was controversial. From my position Charles should have been excluded in the first running, he picked up drive and took Schlein off clearly and it wasn’t first bend bunching. Re-run I think the ref was correct - Charles was ahead and headed for the dirt on turn 3 and Harris just kept it wound on and ran out of room. Throttle works both ways, as they say. Big thanks to Drew Kemp who was an excellent guest and just have a decent chance next week in the U19 final. Bears might have no riders in the lineup after Jenkins crash, which is a shame. Nielsen and Schlein were good guests for the Brummies and I thought Thomas was unlucky to only score 1, kept MPT very honest in Heat 13. Just once this year I’d like a comfortable home victory and a bit more consistency from the Bears.
  23. Charles declared himself fit so will be riding tonight.Hopefully he has made the right decision. Light showers forecast early evening but should be ok.
  24. Wright fell in his first ride tonight and withdrawn from the rest of the meeting. Must be a major doubt for tomorrow now. Bears having a rough time of it at the moment.
  25. If Kemp rides as well for us as he did against us, I’ll be very happy. Good practice for him for the British U19 final too.
