  1. I think you are correct. For the fan who went on the Wednesday, it will have cost £28 for 35 heats. £0.80/heat. For the fan who only goes this Friday, £23 for 30 heats. £0.77/heat. You could argue that it is worse still as really with the discount voucher the fan who went on Wednesday will have effectively paid £30 for 35 heats. £0.86/heat. Debbie quoted that they had tried to set the admission prices as fairly as possible. I think that it is not fair to charge the fan who turned up on the rained off meeting more. How can that be fair? All being equal, based on £0.77/heat, the charge should be £23/30 heats * 35 heats watched in total - £14 already paid - £2 loyalty discount, say £11. That would be fair. That would be £0.77/heat for the fan turning up on Friday and £0.71/heat ((£14+£11)/35 heats) for the fan who turned up on the Wednesday and was rewarded with the discount voucher.
  2. Splendid some 20 miles from the stadium in Yatton, N.Somerset.
  3. My mitigation is that I was rushing to make a post before my lunchtime ended. Will try much harder next time.
  4. And you lot have a go at Aljack for constantly complaining about not having a genuine top 2 riders! Plymouth 18.88 Berwick 16.93 Glasgow 16.71 Workington 16.6 Somerset 16.4 Rye 16.34 Scunthorpe 16.33 Newcastle 16.27 Leicester 16.09 Redcar 15.34 Edinburgh 15.3 Sheffield 13.89 Ipswich 13.8 PS Don't know what happened to the calcs 6.90+6.71=13.61 so I've credited you with 0.29, but you get the idea!
  5. The noticeable absence from the top are Ipswich who are at the other end of the table! Other than that the kind of table you would sort of expect. The notable improvers are Redcar and Leicester. Berwick seem to be lower than expected too. Good one.
  6. Absolutely! Stayed up until just after midnight posting that blobby thing. Glad you got around to replying to it aljack. No other miserable goat did -- oops, that should have read "nobody else bothered, the miserable goats". (Should the full stop come before or after the closing quotation mark Snacky?) (What about the ) before the ?). Oh sod it.Had to check back and convince myself that all was well when the team was announced and was surprised at what I found particularly from your good self. Hopefully you are now on the up after your good win last night. Another good away performance might help somewhat. For whatever SAD reason, I seem to be following the Witches with some interest this year. Perhaps it is down to my perception that they are the Rebels biggest threat. Perhaps I'll have to start following Worky and Newcy too?
  7. Excuse the small text but I had to re-visit what was said when the Witches were announced, hence the multiple quotes in small text. At the time it did seem like there was almost universal support for the team. It also seemed like the promotion had delivered exactly what most were asking for. Early postings did indeed call for Doolan, Risager & Tresarrieu. Okay, there were reservations but they weren't seen as negative signings. Also it also seemed like the pundits and speedway fans also were in agreement and saw the Witches as a top team. So it really amazes me how many of you have already written off the Witches and the season. The way I see it is that you have been very unlucky with significant and lengthy early season injuries. If Poole had continued on his form from Oz then that would have lifted the team and who knows what that would have done for moral. If anything the reservations some had with the inexperienced reserves hasn't transpired and indeed Tungate has been a revelation. Also North has also been pretty useful too over and above most expectations. So is it any wonder that the results have not been necessarily going your way, what with a compromised replacement for Poole and Risager having just started his season? As for Doolan and Tres, well they were universally accepted in the starting line up so if they are not now living up to expectations, well that is unfortunate. I think you still have a lot left to race for in particular if you can restore your side to near the starting line up and put in some confidence building wins. I know we all want to see our teams doing well but sometimes you have to accept, in particular in speedway, that circumstances can quickly turn around your season for the worse (circa Newcastle 2011) and for the better (circa Newport 2011). Hopefully the promotion will look at the situation and do what they feel necessary to get you back on track (as it were). I have highlighted some interesting sentences, funnily enough, most by Aljack, although this was not fully intentional . Just a shame he hasn't lived up to his promises regarding a true #1.
  8. Ah but you don't have an outright No.1! Come on you Witches, make your mind up.
  9. Well he did ride for the Rebels and we're only another hour & half up the road.
  10. Here, here. We have a nice clubhouse with no ale, just fizzy pop.
  11. Yes, many times as my boy is at Plymouth Uniy but have only seen the SBA from the dual carriageway. Had a quick look at the last few meeting and notably Alden, Robson and Lemo took points off him. All I was really suggesting is that Ben and Ryan will slip up in the odd races especially against the top men from the top teams in the league, not often but they obviously will. Will have to see about coming down when the Rebels are there. Not long now so enjoy it when it comes.
  12. Good call.Likewise he had it all handed to him on a plate at Somerset and look what happened. Don't think that him being potentially dropped for Lanham and not having kit sorted at this late stage will be exactly helping getting "his head together". I do fear the worst for Plymouth. With regard to Barker and Fisher, any decent heat leader beating them into the first bend may take points off them so it will not always be a forgone conclussion that Plymouth will be safe at home.
  13. So with the fantastic following Plymouth get there must be a lot of people queing up for shares and for potentially being future owners. How is all this going? There hasn't been anything posted in this respect for some time.
  14. You may well be right but I thought that you attended motorsport events entirely at your own risk.If you are correct, there must be many other teams out there running at risk. I personally would be gutted if we were stopped from going to P&P.
  15. Very forward thinking of the Witches promotion ... NOT.
