It may apply to any supporters coming via Newcastle city centre ie off the A1 and in my opinion I don't see how supporters would be able to avoid it traveling from south Tyneside to North as the alternative way would be via the Tyne Tunnel which there already is I believe a toll charge of £1.80 each way!!

Well here we are less than two hours before tapes up and no thread been started off that I can see. So while the Diamonds are at full strength there seem to be a number of changes to the Birmingham line up including Charles Wright at No 1 BIRMINGHAM: Charles Wright, James Shanes, Zach Wajtknecht R/R, Paco Castagna, Tero Aarnio, Broc Nicol, Connor Coles. NEWCASTLE: Steve Worrall, Max Clegg, Lasse Bjerre, Matthew Wethers, Thomas Jorgensen, Jacob Bukhave, Danny Phillips.

So sad to learn of the untimely passing of Gary, had quite a few laughs down the years with him also was very helpful at many particular times. RIP Gary

Right there in lies the whole problem with the sport, ie the state it finds it self in. What with it loosing credibility from the outside world, why it is loosing fans and not taken seriously it works even though it is wrong but it gets away with it so leave and accept it who cares attitude! With this illustration how on earth should the sport regain a well shaped future? or indeed why should it bother? I really expected better from someone like you Dave!

Workington speedway folds......

Very sad to see this happen on the cusp of the season just about, it is bad enough clubs saying they don't know if they are running before the AGM but to have the team in place and supporters hyped up, season tickets on sale etc. I hope Workington can get back on track in 2020 and beyond, however I feel these will not be the only victim of closure sadly. Always enjoyed the speedway at Workington in the past not always my own teams result. -
NO NO NO differently not Diamonds all the way. those bloody bandits used to cost me a fortune (the gambling kind)
-
Yeah I remember that if I correctly recall it would of been 2006? and again if I am right another rider to do similar was Steve Boxall?
-
No problem sorry if I offended you too!
-
Dave I accept what you are saying regarding riders however I am however not just saying that about riders riding for us but also apposing teams too! New interest? I have never and will never stopped supporting the team but sadly the only meeting I am aiming to attend in 2019 at Brough will be the Stuy one if they have one. I hope this answers your questions.
-
38 paint limit far a start? same riders week after week team guesting? riders availability due to Poland etc! However if you think its ok then I am glad for you!!
-
In response to your post I never totally blamed the riders hence I was kind of expecting some on here to say that which was why I said results etc! I also included that in more recent times we have not been the dearest club, however we and as a sport now and then are/were far to expensive so you have your opinion fair enough I accept it you must do so with mine! As I said earlier it is a RIP OFF IMHO!
-
For those prices I want a team full of riders like that and no use of RR etc!!
-
Just seen the pricing structure for 2019 & in my opinion it is NOT value for money at any level, weather that be paying on the gate or so called season tickets that only covers 17 meetings RIP OFF! How can any club justify prices like these when the whole league has been watered down as much as it now has is beyond me? I am aware for the last several seasons we have not been the dearest but equally we have not been the strongest team in the league either by results or standard of riders because of finances or Poland etc. But when you look at the standard of the sport for the prices no wonder crowds are falling right across the sport, any thoughts!!
-
To your first point that is why I said for a season or two, however to your second point regarding change after Tim Stones death I had heard somewhere they were talking about that somewhere which makes perfect sense, just had not heard it was set in stone!
-
Is that not only if its a new promoter/promotion for first year or two?

If Stuy Robson is set to retire I would like to personally thank him for 25 years service to the sport, always a favourite of mine since I was 16 years old. However I am not suppressed to hear this sad news it has to be said and after me sitting this entire season out with the exception of both away meetings at Redcar, I don't see me returning to the speedway full time anymore either so that's the two of us calling it a day as Stuy is the only rider together with Willko that float my boat these days the only riders to get my passion to shout for!! Good luck Stuy on whatever you do in the future.

I see on both the diamonds own website and on the bspa weekly round up the diamonds don't have a home fixture on September 23rd is that the home campaign finished or what other reason is there for yet another blank week?
