  1. I don't think that 7 points would have won a world title. There were no grand finals in those days.
  2. Did they really spell Frank Shuter's name "Shutter"?
  3. He certainly was, and I was a huge fan of Ove Fundin.
  4. I have nothing but praise and admiration for Peter Craven. I watched him many times and was amazed he was able to ride that well , being so small. My recollections are tarnished by the fact he was always beaten by the great Ove Fundin. Are you sure about that? Always beaten by Ove? I don't think so. I saw a very interesting stat a while ago, from somebody who obviously kept a record of these things, and he said that Craven was the only rider to beat Fundin 100 times! Although Fundin was narrowly ahead overall. I does seem a lot, but that was his claim, and he was a Fundin fan.
  5. Of all the Brits that I have seen, Peter Craven would just about top them all, narrowly ahead of Peter Collins.
  6. Surely the most amazing winner in history, and he re-writes the history books: Oldest ever winner, longest time ever between wins, and maybe, best of all, the first rider ever to win in two different centuries. That one will last for a while! Apart from Tony Rickardsson! ( I missed that one!)
  7. There's nothing wrong with that at all, t's just a standard speedway tactic that you see all the time.Rory has made a complete fool of himself.
  8. I hope they check all the bikes after this meeting!
  9. Are you sure about that? http://top-10-list.org/2010/10/04/10-most-watched-world-sports/
  10. This should be a great three way battle to sort out who the finalists will be.
  11. Fantastic news! Stuff the rules, breaking them is a common enough thing in speedway anyway, ask the Bspa! Lol. Now we can look forward to watching THE most popular rider in the sport today. P.S. KKs does it again!
  12. He's said so himself now, it seems. What an odd way of deliberately finishing last.
  13. I thought we fought back well after a disastrous start.. We got through comfortably enough in the end, and that's the best we could hope for anyway..
  14. Yep, that's it then. If they had used all their practise time up, the Brtis would have won with ease.
  15. A speedway race is very easy to fix. Why would he make a dangerous move like that to finish last? He could just have just gated behind them and stayed there. But he didn't did he? He was ahead of the German rider at the first attempt to run the heat, in fact he was disputing the lead wit Pedersen. Why would he do that if he intended to be last? In the re-run he gated last, yet he passed Dilger, once again, why? Troy was poor all evening, was he also giving points away in his other races? ( Troy Batchelor - R , 1 , DW , 2 , 1 = 4) Glory Rory was last to a German rider, another fix? Holder messed up his race whilst taking his joker ride even though he led from the gate. Another fix? As for what Ward said on tv, well I stopped believing what riders say publicly a long time ago. Have a good day. 16. I thought it was a very entertaining meeting. I'm really not sure what some fans expect. Gollob was found out tonight,he seemed to have got over his Cardiff jinx last year, but tonight he was back to normal. Bjerre and Lindgren demonstrated that they are the biggest bottlers in the Gp series, yet both of them so good on their own tracks. Meanwhile, the 41 year old Hancock goes marching on!
