I agree I just question your concept that Hall scoring you 5 points a meeting will affect the results of as many meetings as your post suggests. In fact I'd go further and say that Hall scoring 5 points a meeting would be a major problem for you. Edit: Mind I'd like to sign a number 6 for Redcar that will score 5 points a meeting. I'd take that lol!
-
No it isn't - Hall already has an average of 4 points out of the teams 42.5 average (or thereabouts) because 4 points is what he normally scores. The opposition also average 42.5 (or thereabouts). Therefore if Hall scores 4 he isn't getting 'a swing' and if he scores 5 it's 1 point more than he's 'expected' to score and 1 point the other team are not scoring, hence a 2 point 'swing'.

Great first signing. Best newcomer to the Bears since Ty Proctor. Also appreciate Jonas' comment that he hopes to achieve a 7 point average by the end of the season. The bloke has his head screwed on correctly, none of this "Im going to be number 1" rubbish, just wants a 7 point average! And it will take some doing, I do stats for the Bears and if you can put 1 pt. on your average you'll be one of the top 20 most improved riders in the league, so 1.4 is pushing it! Looking forward to the announcements for the rest of the team!

of course!

Quick look at the latest averages shows that that top 5 would leave 6.89. So in all honesty I think the best shout would be Graversen and a 3 pointer - would just sneak in under 42.5 assuming that's next years figure.

Redcar Bears Vs Plymouth Devils 20/8/15
Boothers replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great meeting, passing for fun, great to see the efforts put in by all riders, including the away team and guests (well done Matty W!). Have to say the Devils were unlucky to go home empty handed and I'm only pleased that the ridiculous decision to award a race as a 7-1 rather than the 8-1 it should obviously have been didn't in the end cost you. Big well done to everyone concerned. Wish there were more meetings like this! -

Still fine here. Dark clouds surround us but just supposed to stay cloudy according to my weather app! -
Redcar V Edinburgh Plkoc 23rd July

Decision has been made that I will never ever attend a meeting at which Mr R. Worrall is appearing. I know this will mean nothing to Mr R. Worrall as I am a Redcar fan and therefore the Devil's spawn but you are quite clearly the most reckless speedway rider I have seen in 42 years watching the sport. You can walk off the track, sticking two fingers up to the Redcar crowd (very classy NOT) whilst I stood on the second bend for 20 minutes listening to Lasse scream in pain. Hope you sleep well tonight! -
I'll always remember Kelvin (I'm sure it was him!) shinning up the lamp standard at Cleveland Park during a match against Middlesbrough to remove the bulb from the White exclusion light and throwing it at the referee's box. H&S would throw the book at him now!

Redcar Vs Scunthorpe - July 2nd
Boothers replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sorry I've no axe to grind here being a Redcar fan, but where is your evidence for this statement? I can see one meeting where it was reported that he suffered a thumb injury, but that was in his fourth ride anyway. Seems to me he's completed every meeting that he started. -

Yep I missed it too! Seen nothing to the contrary so it looks as though Davies is ok and only feeling a bit second hand. Hope so. -

Nope, let's be fair. Alex Davies averages 5 points around the STMP. His 4 programmed rides tonight provided 5 points. Therefore the only difference was that Lunna/Wilson may have been free to take other replacement rides for example instead of ...... er. Hold on I'll get my coat! -
You can't have Roynon back permanently yet as he hasn't dropped his average enough (it's very much a work in progress). ....mind I'm sure he'd bang the points in for you guesting!
-
I await the barrage of stinging criticism that Redcar got last year when we dropped Crang! Wont happen though because at least you replaced a 'promising' British rider with another 'old' British rider, rather than the 'promising' Pole we did (and yes I heard that muffled laughter in the background - but figures prove that Rafal was/is a better option than Luke)
-
Nope, figures show Keskinen averaged a point a match (it took only 16 rides from 5 meetings and a grand total of 4 points for us to realise that R/R was a better option). Morley is currently averaging 2.14 from his 7 meetings. However he really is struggling to convert his NL form into PL points.
-
Surprisingly only had 4 meetings at Premier League level averaging 8. Apart from an excellent meeting here last September (15+1) all his better meetings at the MPA/STMP appear to have been at Conference League level!
-
Michael Palm Toft at the MPA/STMP 6 matches 26 rides 30 points 4.62 average.

Sheffield Vs Redcar 02-04-15 Lc
Boothers replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ha ha! A cricket score eh? Can only assume it was 474-0 (declared?) and someone put the dash in the wrong place! Just taking the mick! Seriously though just shows the way speedway goes sometimes. We all know that Sheffield have the superior side this year but with the apparent state of the track a few less engine problems for Matej, Robson riding (should have scored more than 6?) and the Bears might have pinched a point (or dare I say more?). On the other hand a few less problems for Compton and Bates not getting ruled out of the meeting you might well have got your cricket score! Well done to the Tigers and dare I say I'm happy with a 7 point defeat? -
OK if that's the case, I'm happy with that. Just quoting other sources for figures. Always happy to see Henry riding here as I think he's a very honest rider and well worth a team place anywhere.
-
Surely Henry and Nielsen would put you 0.06 over the limit. Henry on 6.24 and Nielsen on 3.36 = 9.6 and you only have 9.54 to play with?
-
Crikey. Never thought I'd see the day when a Bears fan used the word supercilious in a post on the BSF. Hold your head up proud Yearby!
-
Oh dear Tsunami. A disappointing post from someone like you. I would have expected better.
-
Thanks Halifax tiger and Tigerite. It's nice to get pleasant feedback from away supporters especially when our home fans are so difficult to please.
-
Happy with the three signings so far. Like Robbo, only hope he isn't left high and dry as a number one but will be a great second heat leader. Hugh is a better rider than he thinks he is. Jan is a good signing at reserve and unlike other 'fans' I will explain my reasoning. I thought signing Jan last year was a very big mistake. Jan was Mr. Homer in 2013. His average around Leicester was in the high sevens, away from home down near three. Surely a 'false' average if there ever was one! However Jan rode really well for us and despite his home average dropping (understandably) he did increase his away average by a reasonable amount. I was happy to be proved wrong and if Jan can get his STMP average up to that of his Leicester home average and maintain his away improvement he will be an asset to the team. However we still need an outright number one and I'm gutted that we won't see Kozza Smith wearing his Bears colours.
