  1. I think 'not available' might mean ineligible. Ashley was 8th on the tier one EDR so could only be substituted by one of the riders on the guest list. Now that Lakeside have made that change permanent I am guessing they cannot put this into reverse.
  2. And therein lies the problem. Purpose-built speedway stadiums don't have sufficient spectator capacity, the largest of which for this series, is Torun 15500.
  3. I was looking forward to both this meeting and the Raiders match but have returned home disappointed, cold and covered in dust. We all know by now Ed doesn't do heat 15 but otherwise he was great and Anders wasn't far behind. The problem is others had uncharacteristcally poor days at the office.Jakobsen and Aspegren were down on previous performances whilst Boxall seemed to have brought along one of his old lawnmowers for the day. What's happened to Luke though? Decent at Peterborough and Ipswich (guest on Friday) but in 3 meetings at home he has managed just 5 points from 10 rides. So are the first three meetings a flash in the pan or was today a blip. Whatever, not the best way to visit Somerset next Friday.
  4. ..and that's how life has been for me. As soon as I'm feeling good I turn the next corner when someone kicks me in the balls!!
  5. So how will this go. Richard Lawson guesting for Peterborough was in imperious form for Lakeside yesterday scoring 14+ 1 maximum from the no. 5 berth. This included finishing ahead of GP superstar NKI on no less than three occasions. Nonetheless, I think Rye have enough to win even if the aforementioned rider finishes with 18.
  6. Rather than live in hope why not contact the the club to see if an agreement can be reached. I am guessing that the majority of Panthers' supporters who were planning to come in the afternoon won't now.: info@ryehouserockets.co
  7. It's not an own goal. The fixture at Peterborough was only re-arranged this morning so there is still time for Len to offer a concession to visiting season ticket holders and it would make financial sense to do so. I imagine so. The Rye fixture will finish by 4pm, possibly earlier. Plenty of time to get to Peterborough for the evening.
  8. Not that bad in the past though: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/12149/kings-lynn-swindon-2013-30pm and: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/12434/kings-lynn-swindon-2013-30pm
  9. Yes, well done and your 'missing' Rocket, Ed, didn't have a bad evening either. Unbeaten in his programmed rides before being plunged into one too far, heat 15.
  10. Not that many actually. As you say he misses the visit to Somerset but after that I can see only the match at Plymouth in August that clashes and chances are the EL fixture list will have changed by then anyway.
  11. The statement regarding the Ed Kennett situation:- http://www.lakesidehammers.co/edward-kennett-statement/
  12. Glad to see you're still quick on your feet. Now, can you pass on a few tips onto Kasper?
  13. I am sure Shads has had enough bites to last a lifetime. He is a postman!
  14. Very puzzling as prior to the early hours of this morning I cannot remember the last time it rained in this part of the country so it is not as if there could have been much standing water. Last 24 hours records this: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/observation/u12b4ht3f
  15. Lakeside have three BH away meetings that clash, two at Coventry and one at Wolverhampton. However, as the Rye House meetings are a 2pm start, Ed should be able to do both.
  16. The ruling hasn't changed but Len has entered into an agreement with JC at Lakeside whereby, when there are fixture clashes, whichever club is riding at home will have priority. This is subject to BSPA approval the decision for which was due today. Sounds like a gentleman's agreement to me and Len probably feels a bit awkward about it bearing in mind when the respective signings were made and fixture lists issued Ed was still a Coventry asset and, had he remained so, Lakeside would have had priority. I should like to hope, had the the situation been the former, JC would have reciprocated.
  17. Many Ipswich supporters who went to the Morten Risager Testimonial, the equivalent Saturday last year, will recall how cold it was. Wrap up warm because it could be similar tonight, 6c feeling like 1 to 2 in a brisk north east wind blowing directly into the main stand.
  18. You, also, will feel very encouraged by the performance of Richard this afternoon at Peterborough. We certainly did at in the other end of the country in Purfleet (Lakeside). BTW Nick McMorris will have no trouble in crossing Hadrian's Wall.
  19. It is always very difficult to predict what lies in store for a rider showing early promise. I first watched Rob doing a series of 4 laps outings at Rye House when he was 14. These were timed and at one meeting were faster than some recorded in the main match. Then, on the other hand, Steve Boxall was equally impressive at a similar age and, look at David Howe as a youngster riding for Peterborough. It isn't just natural ability but a determination to succeed, and proof following the career of one Ivan Mauger, a rider having not that much natural talent but an iron hardness to be the best. The same could be said of Ove Fundin. So, how will Robert do? He has a great family support around him and appears very mature - an interview at Rye House at the age of 14 verifies this. Personally, I think he could go the whole way.
  20. Absolutely. Then, Lakeside 20th and Rye 21st. Just hang in there.
  21. Sorry, did this from memory without checking. This is what happens when you are an OAP!
  22. The team selection has to be based on a minimum of a 34 point average this season to ensure the farce that was Scunthorpe last year is not repeated.
