  1. Birmingham are at Eastbourne on Saturday for an EL match. Therefore, I am surprised that Kennett and Lambert are turning out for Rye as I thought official fixtures took priority over challenge matches.
  2. The only reason I say this is that the meeting at Rye House is a challenge match and not an official fixture as defined here: 16.1 Fixtures shall take priority as follows: FIM Speedway Grand Prix, FIM Speedway World Cup, FIM SGP Qualifying Meetings FIM Junior Speedway World Championship Meetings British Championships (Senior, Junior), BSPA Shared and Fee Events Elite League Competitions. Premier League Competitions, National League Competitions 16.1.1 A Rider must be released by a Promotion to take part in a higher priority Meeting. Of course, if you are right, and I'm no expert by any means, Birmingham will be without Barker, Kennett and Lambert when they visit Eastbourne the same day for an official EL fixture and Eastbourne without Lewis Blackbird.
  3. I have been checking the fixture list expecting Rye's first home match to be the second leg of the league cup but see it is still shown as the return challenge match. Then I realise why. Those hoping for at least six Rockets on show will be disappointed. Birmingham ride an EL match at Eastbourne the same day so will have first call on Ed and Simon. Peterborough will be without Joe Jacobs (Wolves away at Leicester) and Lewis Blackbird (Eastbourne). These are not the only clubs missing riders the same day (29th March) and for similar reasons.
  4. Good start for Simon Lambert this evening. 14 from 5 rides in Kent's first leg KO cup win over Devon.
  5. I don't believe arranging skiing holidays in the French Alps has much to do with the UK border agency.
  6. Chris Holder regains title after Jason Doyle falls and is excluded in the final won by Rohan Tungate. Doyle finishes second overall and Grajczonek third after a run-off against Tungate.
  7. Troy Batchelor has withdrawn from the final round owing to knee ligament damage.
  8. Sheffield and Wednesday sounds like a very good combination to me!
  9. Slightly off-topic, but good to see both Olly (Somerset) and Anders (Scunthorpe) are fixed up for next season.
  10. Leigh Lanham lost his team place some days ago.
  11. Richard Lawson has left Workington. Linus will not be at Rye House either.

  13. Weather forecast not too good for tonight: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646057
  14. Final round of the Euro Championships is tomorrow.
  15. Agreed. Never say never. In the meatime and leaving team riding aside, was the performance by Craig Cook the best seen by any rider around Foxhall this season. I have been to just a few meetings this season but his effortless style, seemingly just letting the bike to do all the work, was very impressive
  16. Never mind about him, it is Dyer the Flyer Rye House have to worry about.
  17. Taken from Lakeside website: Vortex Hammers Number 1 Peter Karlsson has suffered a fracture of the T6 vertebra & rib injuries following his shocking heat 15 crash at King’s Lynn on Wednesday evening. All at the club wish PK well for a speedy recovery, his length of absence is undetermined at this stage. Chris Harris will race for the Hammers at Number 1 in next weeks return to the Norfolk Arena (4th September) and two days earlier when the Hammers visit the Poole Pirates which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
  18. I thought they were great and so competitive. I reckon Kyle Bickley is one to watch for the future as we doing with Robert Lambert. He has his own website already and is following in Robert's footsteps by riding on the continent as well. Tender age of eleven just now. However, well done all riders and also to Phil Morris and Neil Vatcher for the work they are putting into developing British riders of the future.
  19. Leon Madsen was the highest non-qualifier so either him or one of the programmed reserves.
  20. Latest on Chris Harris: http://www.birminghambrummies.co/bomber-gets-bad-break/
  21. If it is to be a weekend fixture, the only date I can see is as part of a double header on 17th August, the day Ipswich visit. Next weekend Rye are away both Saturday and Sunday. The week after, Ipswich have obliged fellow Thursday club Redcar by holding their home match on Saturday 10th, the same day Rye host Leicester. Rye visit Leicester the following day.
  22. Could drag on well into the evening. I don't know if anything is happening at the Rye circuit tomorrow, but I thought it would have been better to re-stage the meeting then. Neither side are in action tomorrow and we know the weather forecast is good. We don't know what it will be like on 26th August though.
  23. Might be just as well if it is rained off. Tyson was injured last night at Sheffield and misses what would have been his debut as a Hammer tonight,
