Thanks for that.....its me then not getting my head into gear. Never noticed it with the others......usually a N/L no 1 is a reserve in P/L like Scunny's J Hart.
-
Ive just been watching the updates, Redcar v Workington and it just doesn't seem right that C. Cook can be a No 1 in N/L and No 1 in the P/L. Is it me not getting my head round it properly?
-
Has buzz gone?
-
Yes suppose your right Jayne.......go out there and win the league....GOOD LUCK!
-
Buxton scared of Saints, surely not!.......C/L & N/L has always run without certain riders missing. probably because its a development league it appears to excuse riders who cant get off school or work, dad cant drive them, school exams, rider away, thats apart from doubling up or down, the list is endless.( they do have a squad ) however the youngsters get stuck in and cover missing riders like its part of the job. well Saints do anyway because we've had Buzz and Benji missing for reasons mentioned just recently. This is not a dig at Buxton, Ive already stated eleswhere that I'd like to see them win the league because like Scunny they have a policy for bringing on the brits.

Well I hope that Rye house do not make the play-offs for using an illegal rider ( Nelson ) against Scunny, yet have kept his points....disgusting!
-
Very sad news that Mildenhall has had to pull out of the league for 2010. As a longtime supporter of Scunny I know what that feels like, as Stags experienced the same...........Heres hoping for better in 2011 for all Mildenhall fans.....Good luck for the future!

It makes my blood boil......another british youngster out to make room for a foreigner......The only time our kids are going to get a look in is if the BSPA change the rules for next year.....I say all british kids for N/L and at least 3 brits in prem and 2 in E/L.....not a lot to ask seeing as it is british league speedway. Its us brits that pay to watch and its not fair for instance when the sky meeting the other night, not one brit.....hence I didn't watch. At this rate my speedway days are looking like coming to an end sooner rather than later.

Probably wouldn't work for Buxton as they aren't members of the "CROOKS CLUB"......Talk about corrupt!......Those in charge of this situation should hang their heads in shame. Rye house cheat and get rewarded with 4 pts. What an image for our sport. Time for a change in how the sport is run. We need people who are fair and not in it just for their own means, -

How can it be legal and illegal.....Its got to be deemed one or the other. If its illegal, then Rye house should not get the 4 pts. What a farce!..... I suppose what actually happened is for L Silver to sign Nelson and slip him into the team at the last minute in a bid to pluck him from the grasp of Sheffield. Surely the BSPA know the rules regarding foreigners riding in our country, if not thats digusting!.....How is it justice that Rye house cheat and gain the points? -

Oh I so agree with you montie........the above quote from Halifax tiger is ridiculous....how the hell can he know what our riders then were being paid........some folk claim to be so clever!.......This subject is becoming so repetative and boring.......As a supporter all I want to see is the speedy advance of our youngsters.......more so after attending the Cardiff GP yesterday. The only race which got us brits really excited was Tai's last race. That was awesome.........Cant everybody see that the standard of the brits is on the decline.........we must get our kids competative sooner rather than later or the brilliant event at ardiff will cease to interest many. certainly me. I'm fed up of saying I want to see the brits up there winning championships like they used to.......We have to find a way to run the N/L where both standalone and feeder clubs can work in harmony. Wake up to reality please......come on get behind the youngsters, whatever happened in the past is THEN we should all be pulling together for NOW. -

Roger....I agree with you 100%....I live in hope that next year we have rules to suit stand alone and feeder clubs. and a level playing field for all riders, Like you I dont mind the Aussies, but have no interest in them at the expence of our british youngsters. The league is british, therefor our kids should have first chance of a team place. -

Roger I think a lot of us agree with most of what your saying in your post. I firmly believe that sport belongs to the paying supporter ( without them it wouldn't exist)I'm not saying that all promoters do not think likewise, but some just work the sport for their own benefits and financial gain. Call it patriotic but my thinking is that sport of any kind is competative and we the fans attend to see our teams excell and especially when it comes to World competitions, like the world cup. We must start looking to put our youngsters first or in the very near future we will have no team GB and few turning up to watch competions with only foreigners in. Speedway is difficult to get started in because of the expence involved, but it seems promoters will go to any means to get Aussies in their teams. Its the british supporters who are paying at the turnstyles!!!!! As for Plymouth in the PL. you deserve that, but don't dispair the NL league is better. ( your in the best league )thats if it was run properley, the youngsters never stop trying. -

Your doing your bit Nikko in trying to help the young british lads, like Rob Godfrey and a few others are........Keep up the good work!......People don't seem to realise these kids are bitish speedway for the future. -

Absolute rubbish! don't be so childish. If he was british and on an average of about 9 or as Albert said in the PL, BUT not in the NL, at reserve and getting 7 rides. Rye house have nothing to be proud of in beating the Scunny youngsters ( without buzz ) so you cannot throw that at us. You are mistaken by thinking I'm jealous.I AM NOT!......Just want to see our own kids getting the help they should get. I really wish promoters would all sing from the same hymn book! -

Seems we've been hearing talk of Ty Nelson for ages.......Rob Godfrey during the out of season, then Mr. Machin of Sheffield recently, we've watched him go round the track at Scunny.......yes the lad is good but what a shock to get to our meeting today to find him riding for Rye house.....I agree with Albert yet another Aussie taking a team place in OUR NDL and a disgrace to see him ride as reserve.......makes my blood boil! -
Well done Saints.......You kept yourselves in with a chance of a point until near the end. Your days will come. just keep in there doing your best!
-
Oh marcus don't dispair you sing from the same sheet as most of us who post on here. With Dudley being a feeder club for Brummy teams, Kev would be happy with all Aussies in both leagues. In 5 years, not only will we have no brits riding, you'll have even fewer riders left in Australia singing from Kevs sheet. All that is required is for the BSPA to use some control. Shame on the Brummy lads....why couldn't you help a british lad. No because you want instant success.
-
I really do hope that he won't be on the scrap heap. It saddened me when he was one of 3 Scunny youngsters to be tempted away from us this year. Being dropped by Dudley must have knocked his confidence for 6. Dudley knew the level of speedway he had achieved when they signed him. Poor kid must feel gutted. to one so young and to be replaced by an Aussie.....oh dear I feel for him!
-
Definately not..........I have nothing but admiration for ALL speedway riders who give us sheer entertainment and enjoyment. end of.
-
I don't mind what the name is for speedways 3rd tier. May I remind you that Scunny's team for 2006/2007 was one of youngsters who did develop in the then C/L. Of course we fans respect the competion in the league ( good luck to all teams ) our team is one of youngsters again this year and it would be too bigga ask for them to win the league, but I'm sure they'll do their best. I suspect some people will consider this tier to be a development league because its where youngsters start off their careers, and stay until they make it to the 2nd tier ( premier league. ) My interest is that as a country we give as much assisstance to British youngsters as is possible ( instead of giving it to the Aussies ) look after our own. So one day we may produce a World Champion again. I'm not racist- but would like to see the 3rd tier for the brits. Foreigners in the PL and EL.
-
Iv'e always sung from the same sheet. always love watching the youngsters. they give something that the experienced riders don't....think its their excitement when they win! plus its great to see week on week improvement. As with Tai,look at him now in the GPs. seen some nasty accidents too but all part of their learning curve.
-
bfd........one of your selected examples is mine......if that means I am anti Aussie, so be it, but I would say to you that its only in our National Development League......I, like most speedway fans enjoy Aussie lads amongst our riders, but not in the only league where our OWN youngsters can progress.......You have your own developement system in Australia for your youngsters, and a good one it appears to be. Talking from my own point of view I want to see our kids get the chance to persue their chosen sport and a chance to become part of Team GB. As a paying supporter of both N/L and P/L I think I have a right to an opinion. I fear for our belovered sport..... british kids find it too hard to fight the system that exists. They have a go and too often give up. The only way for us supporters to get opinions across is by posting them on forums so promoters can read them.......Just to let you know I am not against the Aussies. At Cardiff for the past couple of years Ive shouted and blasted an air horn for Jason Crump, as well as the british lads! and I will this year too.

Jayne I admire Buxton for bringing on the youngsters like Scunny, Whatever Buzz is paid is of no business to me or any fan, but with having so many youngsters I believe Rob Godfrey made the right decision to bring Buzz into the team. Our youngsters need an older rider to pass on experience lacked and we were well below the team average.
