  1. I cannot see many people coming across via the bridge from Hull to Scunthorpe.....bridge costs far too expensive = £5.40 plus entry etc. and Scunny fans have their own teams to support.
  2. Nikko, We've been here befor on other threads......I know from those that you do a lot for youngsters, I do nothing but cheer them on as a fan, but I do feel sorry for our kids and It must be heart breaking for them when they keep banging their heads against a brick wall. As for all the promoting business and the BSPA.....well what can you say? They tend to be a breed that will only do their own thing!.....We just have to hope that between them they will come up with answers soon.
  3. Speaking as someone who watches these youngsters at Scunny I see where they are coming from.......Unfortunately their cries for help will go by un-noticed by the majority of people. There has certainly been no shortage of kids to my reckoning. its just a question of how long they persevere befor giving in.......I hope with all my heart for these kids that the NL is made into a proper developement league, so that our own british kids can progress to the standard of the commomwealth younsters when they come over and can compare with them in competing for league places. We need this league to be for first timers as they have to start somewhere.
  4. I'd like to see an all british N/L . our youngsters deserve a chance to get to the top by going through the leagues. Foreign youngsters have their chances in their own countries. I'd like to see all foreigners starting in the prem. If the NL was all british to start off, with riders at differing levels it could work. For beginners to the sport there should be a level they have to achieve befor entering as a reserve. That would mean we would not have to bar any british lads from this league, however I think there should be a top level when they should go prem. I think a team average of 36 could work.; No1,8pts max with Nos.6 & 7 3pts ea. for team building.
  5. Well done Newport on your win......seems our Saints couldn't match their last weeks performance but nevertheless it was a decent meeting. Anyone know how Buzz is? hope he's not badly injured!....Ive read that Atkin is OK.
  6. GOOD LUCK SAINTS!!.......a meeting like last week please. That was BRILL!
  7. It cost us supporters to watch speedway in GB and we do treat the sport more seriously than some!
  8. I think thats exactly why the BSPA haven't made a statement.....pleased they don't run a business for me!
  9. I'd like to think that behind the scenes the BSPA are addressing the whole situation regarding visas and permits.......? We need closure to this thread and until such times that they put out a statement this subject will not go away......someone will always bring it up.
  10. I do so agree with you......That N/L meeting had to be seen to be believed....racing was awesome and in times of 58s and 59 secs. much the same as the P/L meeting ( except for Davids 56.98 ) he was the star of that show ( class act ) but those youngsters was something eles, god they gave it their all. bless them and good luck to all of them!... you will have gathered that I am into the N/L racing. Those people who do not bother with this level don't know what their missing.
  11. A huge WELL DONE SAINTS!........you didn't win the meeting but you definately won the hearts of all Scunny fans. You rode with so much determination it was there for all to see. What a cracking team your shaping up to. Thanks a million Buzz, your efforts tonight was worth the entrance fee alone I'm sure your example to our youngsters will pay dividends.....congrats to Buxton and good luck in winning the league.
  12. Good to hear that our youngsters put in what sounds like a decent performance......A first at Rye for some of the lads I think, and the team being without Benji, don't suppose the lads can complain. What can you say about Buzz.....he's the best, Isn't he?
  13. Good luck SAINTS!... enjoy....go beat those COBRAS......safe meeting for all riders!
  14. Wanna......you and I are miles apart in our opinions regarding young british riders and opportunities given to Aussies at the expence of our own lads. I am not going into yet another debate, theres been so many and nothing much changes. I'm not against foreigners riding in our leagues but Aussies come in on lower averages than the Swedes and Danes thats why they get an advantage. I still think you are out of order to involve S. Worrell and Gary Irving in this thread, their inclusions in the PL has no bearings whatsoever.....As for the Mark Jones situation if he rides legally, no problem, but for goodness sake get your promoter to make a statement so we can move on.
  15. Why quote 2 british youngsters who are having trials in the PL.....nothing to do with Visa's .....its their right and part of Scunny's develpement policy.
  16. Sorry Squall.......... :) ..... So its a double header then on Monday. I'm sure Buxton will have a good guests....Lambert?
  17. Rubbish and you know it........Buxton want to make the play-offs ( wouldn't all teams ) as Ive said befor I hope they win the league, but this meeting is held up because Buxton want their top riders out. Naturally thats what all teams would want, but sometimes its not possible. We've had to go without Buzz and Benji ( both Scunny top averages ) Sept 10th is getting a bit late for a double header. If you attended Scunny weekly you'd see that we have masses of kids- parents would think twice on coming with 2 meetings...its a long and dark evening at this time.
  18. Sounds as though NL promoters & BSPA should get to the bottom of these permits..... could be right what montie posted on another thread.
  19. No I will not "refrise" or "refrase".......Nor will I "rephrase" any of my previous post......hard luck if you do not comprehend!
  20. Apology accepted Pirate Nick.......You know if I could only have one wish granted to do with speedway, it would be to see all our british youngsters get the opportunity to fulfil their ambitions in their chosen sport,be sponsored and able to represent their country. Seems many drop out and only the odd few make it. I take my hat off to you for sponsoring any youngster, whoever he may ride for ( just so long as he's british ) I'm old enough to remember the days of so many good brits like Peter Collins, Kenny Carter and many many more, and it was so much more exciting having our own to support, having said that please don't think I am against some foreigners because I'm not. We do need a certain mix for competition.
  21. That was not my intention and I'm not even going to debate it with you.......I am 100% behind british youngsters and wish C. Cook all the luck in the world on reaching the top.
  22. Stop Buxton winning the league......Never!!!! I'm hoping they do it and have said so on other threads. I think like Scunny they do loads to help bring on the youngsters and admire them for that. Scunny have won everything at N/L Level twice but not in with a chance this year..... Let it be the year for Buxton.....Good luck!
