Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2025
IainB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Premier Sports dabbled with it a few years ago but the commentary wasn't that great. Didn't Terry Russell have something to do with buying the TV rights for it to be shown in this country? -
Not really living up to his 10 point average so far!

Think this one may come down to those rider not currently in form and who of those does the best/worst King & Morris

Czech GP round 3 Saturday June 3rd
IainB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Woffinden is finished as a world force! That's not to say he can't regain it like Hancock did after about 15 years. Was amusing at the start when he was giving it the usual Billy Big Spuds... I don't get nervous garbage, cut to Jason Crump saying if you say you don't get nervous you're full of crap If Woffy genuinely isn't getting nervous it obviously just doesn't mean enough to him anymore. Disappointed with Dan, just showed a little lack of experience at times with a few bad choices but if he can learn from his mistakes he's going to be a consistent challenger for years to come. Well done to Leicester Lions legend Vaculik on his win -

Whenever you hear the riders interviewed though they all seem to love the track. Although Scott Nicholls said on a podcast I was listening to that some riders can be scared of it. One thing's for sure that even if the riders love it that doesn't always equal great speedway racing. -

Are they queuing out of the car park to see the debut of Drew Kemp? I don't get what people say about his "attitude problem", yes he had a tiny tanty after the playoff final last year but whenever I've seen or heard him he comes across as a thoroughly decent young lad. -

Was never going to live up to the hype and the inevitable comparison to Emil... but a solid debut! -

I'm not knocking Laguta, all I'm saying is he's been out for over a year and doesn't strike me as a naturally talented rider and he wouldn't be the first rider that wasn't that naturally gifted to become World Champion... look at Nicki Pedersen! It's still very early days in Laguta's comeback but quality will always out -

Showed nothing before his World Championship win, whereas Emil had been at the top for years -

I think the Stars need hauling back for a day of starting practice! I don't think I've ever seen such a poor performance from a home team out of the starts! -

Mustn't forget that Laguta has not raced for a year and probably only done a few matches in Poland, it's probably fair to say he's not as naturally gifted as Emil who came back as if he'd never been away. How's Laguta been doing in Poland? -

Lynn used to be such a good race track and it's purely down to the material that's being used these days. -

It's a sad state of affairs that BSN are getting all excited about that being a big crowd! Things must really have been bad before. It's a few years since I've been to Lynn but only a few years ago that would have been a poor crowd. At least there's more there than usual, which can only be a good thing -

Belle Vue -V- Wolves day/night
IainB replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Couldn't agree more with every word of this post. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day, attending the BV Wolves match at midday and then pulling in Panthers v Lions later in the evening, 2 fantastic Speedway matches! I then sat down yesterday evening to watch the Wolves v BV match while dipping into this thread to see what people were saying and I must say it was a thoroughly depressing read, everything from people slagging the Tennis off to the usual slating of the Monmore track. If you didn't enjoy that Speedway match, you don't like Speedway and I question what the hell people like that are even doing on this forum. In other news... I wonder if Wolves find a new piece of land, and let's all hope they do, whether they'll try and replicate the Monmore track or go for a BV style shape, or maybe even a Leicester type hybrid. The "technical" track seems to be on the decline, especially in the top league and for me it's the technical track that makes British Speedway what it is, it's what's attracted riders to the UK in the past, those that have ambition to become better Speedway riders with ambition to become World Champion came to Britain to become better technical Speedway riders.
