  1. We seem to be blessed with many good podcasts at the moment and while some seem to have fallen by the way, others have come to the party. 2 that I have listened recently that are worthy of mention feature 2 riders from opposite ends of the Speedway spectrum but both great characters. Nigel Crabtree on the Super Seven podcast, no heirs and graces, what a great character, the type of character that Speedway sadly misses, a solid top class club man just happy to have some fun, make some money and no particular desire to become a wold champion. and... Ole Olsen, I don't think I ever really appreciated what a charismatic man he is/was. Listening to him reminded me a bit of Tony Rickardsson. The story about the trophy he won at Newcastle had me laughing out loud https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy8yNDg3MzU2MC9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw== Give em a listen
  2. Haha, I have no real choice other than to do just that... Anyway "real" Speedway is only 10 days away!
  3. Yes, that's the way I'm reading it too... which just made me wonder why Polish Speedway seems so all powerful that it evens seems to be able to dictate to the TV companies!
  4. I just hate it when clubs, or in this case a whole league, calls matches off based on a weather forecast, notoriously unpredictable. I know these are Friday matches but as a Premier Sports subscriber half of their Sunday showings so far this season have been postponed. And before anybody comes back at me I know that Polish Speedway couldn't care less about Premier Sports subscribers... Premier Sports couldn't care less about Premier Sports subscribers lol. I just wondered whether it was PPV in Poland as all these cancellations must be leaving gaping holes in their TV schedules. I can't remember many TV matches in this country being called off based on weather forecasts, there always seemed to be massive pressure from Sky at least to get matches on whatever the conditions.
  5. For me Premier Sports is the new Eurosport, the way Eurosport used to be back in the day. They have a few showpiece sports that they build their channels around Scottish/Spanish/Italian Football, NHL, some Rugby and NASCAR (I think) and fill the rest of the airtime with mostly showing 3rd rate sports (Speedway lol) on the cheap i.e. lone commentators working from home (or a centrally based studio) trying to kid you that they are at the stadium. I'm only interested in the Speedway really, so can only really comment on that. Compared to last year so far it's been absolutely p155 poor mainly due to PS deciding to only show the Polish Sunday matches and Poland deciding to call most of them off based on a weather forecast. Hopefully when the weather gets better in the summer things will be better with the added coverage of the Swedish speedway league.
  6. and 15 minutes racing All both of them
  7. I can't be doing with all the messing about online to find a stable stream... and if and when you do, there's a couple of Polish blokes jibbering away in the background. I'll put this one down to experience and not bother again in the future I think (hope) when Speedway in this country is back to "normal"
  8. A sad loss to Speedway, I always found him well worth listening to when he came on the mic whenever Eastbourne or Arena were in town and he always told it as he saw it even if he didn't always get it right (mano a mano). Always had the best interests of his clubs at heart and probably a shame he never took the top job
  9. It's been sooooooo long... I'm even looking forward to the sun delay
  10. Bloody hell! My premier sports subscription not looking like such a good idea this year...
  11. If anybody has not seen it The Billy Sanders Story is available on my YouTube Channel.
  12. 19 June - ACU - Qualifying Round - Glasgow - Scotland Great Britain
  13. That's not exactly true though is it.... remember Chris Harris following the leader Greg Hancock in the final in 2007 for 3 laps and 3 bends... BORING!
  14. ... and a ticket to get in. I hope your lodgings are booked on refundable deals. I hope it comes off for you but aren't you concerned about ticket availability and capacity limits?
  15. With the start of the season now a little over a month away have any clubs released plans surrounding that actual attendance of a meeting? I assume I won't be turning up to the turnstiles at 19:25, handing over my cash and heading off directly to where I always stand? I've just read on the Leicester website that Stewart Dickson is "happy with the reduced capacity we are being advised on", well I'm happy for him, what I don't know is what this means for me and other fans. Are matches going to be all ticket affairs, should I travel to an away match on the off chance of being let in. If it is all ticket how do I get a ticket, what if I don't have the internet (obviously as I've posted this I do but some won't). Is each club devising their own systems or are the governing body issuing guidelines? Anybody have any ideas?
  16. There's a sponsor on some of the riders race suits says Argos... Is that the same as our Argos? The logos are remarkably similar
  17. Is that people thinking about becoming lady boys? It's good to see Speedway finally encouraging LGBTQ+ participation
  18. Or they may have decided to hike their prices... who knows?
