  1. Loyalty? I don't think I ever saw him ride for BV at Coventry because he was always riding for somebody else!
  2. There should be no reason for any match to take longer than 90 minutes. Just because you're in attendance sometimes for over 2 and a half hours doesn't mean you're getting better vfm
  3. Not the most pressing... But it's easy to rectify and a quick win
  4. By my calculations, that's 15 x 4 minutes which equals 1 hour... How the hell is it normally taking them over twice that long then?
  5. R/R as he puts his TV career first?
  6. You'll be able to read all about it in the first set of accounts
  7. Absolutely not in the short term... But it opens up the possibility to do so in the longer term, the way things were, as has been proved over the decline of the last 50 years or so, big ideas were almost impossible to implement
  8. Rider control? If all assets have been transferred to the company. Meaningful shareholder meetings to push rules through, share sales if an interested party comes along wanting to buy the sport, collective bargaining power for purchasing shale or riders time, spread of profit/loss. I think this could be the most positive step in years for the sport
  9. The only way you should have Nicholls back is as a H&S steward so you can open up the whole of the stand for the capacity crowds
  10. I think it's more likely the start of a franchising business model
  11. I'm no fan either but the benefit of 1 person owning the whole League or majority at least is that at least if he does balls it all up it can then be sold as a single entity for someone else to try... I think it's quite a positive move. Also regarding the new limited company does "All current business assets will be transferred in their entirety" mean rider control?
  12. Yes, well done you Mystic flagrag, you're brilliant, that's exactly what you said "Saturday night racing and dropping to a weakened Championship"... Just remind me again exactly where you said this... Mystic Meg eat your heart out. What's the next post? "If what I'm hearing is correct some Lions fans are going to love the signing of the new Number 1 and they'll be surprised who's coming in at reserve?" As Venus enters Uranus
  13. As I've said in another thread, I think this may actually be a good thing in the longer term, if Chapman has majority control of the top League (which he hasn't quite got yet) he can pretty much do what he wants. If he does the right things, as opposed to the paralysis we have at the moment he could have a very saleable product in the future. Question is can he get that 4th club and can he then make the right decisions to improve the sport?
  14. I think that's exactly the reason for this. Much as I dislike Chapman if he can get control of a 4th club he has majority control he can at least make and implement decisions as opposed to the current paralysis in the sport and I see this as being the first step. It could be a very shrewd investment as if he can then actually make the sport into something he'll have a very saleable asset. It's a big IF though!
  15. Yes, that guy was me... I assume you were trying to make the point that it's dangerous having the pits on the centre green? If you were then fair enough... My general point is that they must be in the view of the spectator, there generally tucked away behind the arena in areas the fans can't access
  16. One thing I always think could be a quick cheap (ish) gain would be to move the pits to somewhere where the punters can see what's going on, something like home team on the home straight away, team on the back straight (not at Wolves obvs!) Instead of them disappearing off the track after 60 seconds not to be seen again until after 5 minutes of tractor racing. A lot of clubs have their pit areas tucked away out of visibility of the paying punter and for kids especially how are they going to identify their hero? There'll be a lot of people probably reply to this, you can't do it because of X, you can't do this because of y... Just make it happen. I read in the SS and Dave(?) Hoggart was talking about the in between race experience and that the music needs to be brought up to date, pa systems improved etc. I don't go to Speedway to listen to music I go to watch racing and immerse myself in the racing experience this includes seeing what's going on in the pits, what the riders are doing, what the team managers are up to... It should all be part of the show!
  17. Isn't that what the SCB are supposed to do?
