"Keeping the roof shut to keep the kettle from
JT replied to Addy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely they aren't having semis and finals in such an important meeting? A few times already this season in the WC Qualifiers the top rider from 5 rides has finished last in one race and has been denied of the glory he deserves! I'm sure the top 2 will only be the top 2 after 5 meaningful rides and not a semi and a final that are pot luck in terms of gate positions? -
What a magnificent performance from these Danes tonight! Knocking out the 5 times World Champion with ease and defeating the so called big names in GP speedway, absoloubtly brilliant advert for young Danish Speedway and a credit to the PL where both launched their career in to certain stardom! To add to their credit a lot of their work was from overtaking, in front of 25 000 home fans that takes a lot of doing!

Who will be the chosen 5 for their Countries?
JT replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Forgot about Walasek, I will stick him in my Polish team now! -
Below are the best teams I feel each of the top World Cup Countries could field in the forthcoming SWC at Poole and Eastbourne. Team GB 1.D.Norris 10.32 2.M.Loram 10.12 3.S.Nicholls 8.50 4.G.Havelock 8.44 5.L Richardson 7.93 The GB team really picks itself in my opinion although Screen may be preferred to Havelock at Eastbourne with Havelock reclaiming his place at Poole. By far the strongest team GB will have tracked in this competition. Favourites maybe? OZ 1.L.Adams 11.30 2.J.Crump 10.65 3.R.Sullivan 9.02 4.C.Watson 10.43/2 = 5.22 5.S.Johnston 6.74 /Boyce 4.69 /Parker 4.98 /Lyons 5.51 The Aussies in 2004 will not have it their own way in the qualifier by any means, the top three pick themselves but with Wiltshire retiring and Lyons off form will Craig Watson finally get the recognition from his Newport manager Street, that he deserves? This year Wato has really come to the fore, especially on the international stage where he is the only Aussie to reach the GP Qualifier in Vojens and has beaten proven international riders to make it there. On the domestic scene Wato is the top PL rider. Boyce, Lyons and to a lesser extent Parker (not brilliant at Poole) will fight for the last place with the exciting Johnston. Denmark 1.N.Pedersen 9.29 2.B.Pedersen 8.86 3.H.Andersen 8.63 4.J.B.Jensen 7.32 5.C.Gjedde ?? /N.K.Iversen 6.69 /K.Bjerre 7.58 The top 4 for Denmark are pretty certain, but the last place depends on how successful Charlies return from injury is, if it isn’t successful than two of the most exciting Danish and world talents of the moment Iversen and Bjerre will be the next in line candidates for a very strong looking especially at Poole Danish squad. Sweden 1.T.Rickardsson 10.82 2.A.Jonsson 9.16 3.M.Max 9.29 4.P.Karlsson 9.02>2003 5.A.Lindback 8.84 Sweden along with GB do look very strong especially at Poole and unusually as defending champions look far stronger than when they won it. The final position has to go to Lindback IMO. Poland 1.T.Gollob Picks himself really! 2.J.Hampel 6.24>2003 3.P.Protasiewicz 8.??>2003 4.S.Ulamek 7.66 5.EDIT G.Walasek Another team where the top 4 pretty much pick themselves although only 1 of them is riding in GB this season, the last place I feel will go to EDIT Walasek. CZ 1.B.Brhel Top CZ rider 2.L.Dryml 6.50 3.A.Dryml 6.46 4.T.Topinka 4.56 5.J.Franc 3.52 /A.Rymel 3.60 /P.Ondrasik 3.19 The Czechs will struggle this year in my opinion, the Dryml brothers especially Lukas seemed to have lost it completely. Brhel is an exciting racer, the same goes for Topinka while the last place will be fought out by the Berwick duo and the dark horse Ondrasik who has gone well at Wimbourne Road in the past and is a Czech pairs champion. What do you think about the above teams and whoever else has qualified?

Go Wato! Why on earth do they have semi finals that deny the top rider from 5 rides claiming the honours, this has happened to Wato twice now and I guess if there is any common sense on the World Championship Comittee they will scrap it for the final!
-
Paid £45 for tickets on Friday which were on the bottom tier, although you cant see the big screen watching the racing is far better there! Next year though Id buy the cheapest tickets possible and just take a walk around until you find the best view, with nobody sitting in the seats of course!

Come on Wato!!!

From the Speedway World site: Tomasz Gollob had a few clashes with Nicki Pedersen during yesterday's European Grand Prix in Cardiff. "I am tired with him. This guy rides like a crazy man" - said Gollob about Pedersen. "We can not let him ride, like he rides at the moment. It is dangerous. Nicki is not a favourite person in the Grand Prix community. When I gave him a hard time in our first meeting, the other riders applauded in the pits" - admitted Gollob. Gollob may not remember, that he was also disliked by other riders at the beginning of his career, because of his risky style of racing. He was even punched by Craig Boyce few years ago.

Hans Andersen Dirty Rider - It's Official
JT replied to Philip Addison's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To say Nicki Pedersen didn't do anything is boll*cks! In every race he was in where there was a fall on the first bend you can guarentee it was caused by Mr Pedersen turning right on the first bend either giving riders nowhere to go or just wiping them out completely! No I'm not a Danish hater, I just can't stand how blatently dirty Nicki Pedersen is! -

He took his leg away so he had every right to go down! Nicki Pedersen was again the most blatent dirty rider! -

I was amazed at how much these riders go for it! Every race they were full throttle Loram and Jonsson were elbow to elbow on the straight! -
How was your GP day??
JT replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Is manwidaplan Nicki 'Turn right on the first bend' Pedersen? A brilliant day and by far the best racing and fireworks so far!!! Did anyone see the fantastic race buses after the meeting and Rickardsons Lotus? Does anyone know how many millions Rickardsson is worth? -
GP Predictions Round 4 - CARDIFF
JT replied to Lioness's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Brilliant meeting, top class fireworks and nice to see that dirty bast*rd Pedersen given an elbow by Gollob in the semi!! Mark Loram was dissapointing he was good one race then crap in an other but other than that the meeting was superb, surely the biggest crowd so far easily? -
Wow that second meeting is far easier than the Vetlanda one! How many qualify? I guess it is 8 from each? If so then my bets would have to go on: Vetlanda (In no particular order) Matej Zagar Morten Risager Fredrik Lindgren Lord Ken Daniel Davidsson Miraslow Jablonski Matthias Schultz Edward Kennet In Wiener Mads Korneliussen Janusz Kolodziej Jonas Davidsson Antonio Lindback Rory Schlien Robert Miskowiak Jan Jaros Daniel King

Yes go PUK!!! I'd imagine both these riders will be in the GP's next year anyway, both show how far ahead the Danish youngsters are compared to the Brits!
-
Well done Mads! Hardly a top class field but still well done.
-
Well done PUK!!
-
JT yes there are two semifinals and a final, but best 8 progress to the GP qual. final, so there's nothing to worry about. Thank god for that! Speedway is using a bit of common sense for once!
-
Keep it up PUK, does anyone know if there are any stupid bloody Finals that may prevent a top scorer his chance of a GP slot? There better not be!
-
Yes!! Come on PUK!
-
Bl**dy hell 14!!!! At Newport his equivelent is Nick Mallet or Russel Barnet! There was me thinking Morten Risager was the best rider 16 or under, it looks like this guy could be a number 1 in the PL in his first season!
-
Do any German speedway fans know if Stefan Bachuber (Newport 'asset' who never rode for Newport) is still riding speedway? One more question on the 'http://www.josef-westenkirchner.de' site who is the rider identified as 'Pavlic' <pictured below>? If anyone could post any details on him I would be very grateful as his style is reminiscent of Matej Zagar and we all know that isn't a bad thing! Thanks

I see Lord Kenneth has yet to score a maximum in Sweden unlike his exciting and far more stylish Danish Counterpart NKI who recently did just that beating the likes of Screen, Johnston and most impressively Crump. Sorry to spoil the party! Seriously, nice to see Kenneth will be back by Monday and for his almost guaranteed wildcard place alongside PUK in Denmark. These two Danes aswell as Morten Risager show just how far behind Britain is!
