  1. Lol lol. Got to admit i'm suing him already after the heat when Hancock made a good start, serious heart attack triggered. I thought it was hilarious how he stopped Jan with his startling SHOUTING as he was about to say something. I'm sure he fell clean of his chair. Got to admit it was a very embarrassing piece of 'commentating' he simply carried on SHOUTING for ages.
  2. If Greg doesn't score again Hampel can get a maximum of 15 this meeting and 24 in the last GP = 39. Hancock either not scoring or getting injured. So reckon Pearson will say any moment now that Hampel is breathing down Hancock's neck! I mean he did say Perdersen is putting pressure on Holder for 8th place when with one and a bit meetings to go the gap between 8th and 9th is 13 points. I'm also a little puzzled when the commetator said it's a good crowd, i was about to make my first post earlier on to say that i was very disappointed with the large gaps in the stadium. Maybe my poor memory from previous seasons?
  3. ? There's a how-to on the previous page. Unless you have Virgin? in which case the poster isn't sure.
  4. Some good interesting replies in the last few postings regarding Premier Sports. I'd love to throw in my tuppence worth too. But i feel we are hijacking and blocking this thread which is for those who want to access quick info and opinions on the end of the season in Sweden. Just a heads up there is a thread titled 'Premier Sports' in the general section of the forum. I was going to repost the posts i made there into this one too but feel bad to do so as this thread here is titled 'Swedish Elite League Play-offs And Play-outs'! Obviously one can't help touch upon the tv coverage, i know as others have done over the season so have i. However, the side issue of Premier Sports seems to be dominating the thread now. I'll see what happens in the near future and will post accordingly with the masses. Hell if both threads are having good opinions and thoughts tossed around i'll post in both
  5. Be careful rolling your eyes that many times you'll detach a retina lol lol. Joking aside, absolutely no it isn't at all because there has NOT been a definitive answer yet. All i see is conflicting information from; BSPA SHEFFIELD SCUNTHORPE BELLE VUE SPEEDWAY STAR I've asked the question more than once because the fixture has not been clarified and explained as to who is racing under which name and why. People have tried to find info and offered replies, alas, various sources conflict. If you were promoting Belle Vue would you be happy that you are likely to miss out on gate receipts from Scunthorpe fans? You don't seem to have finished your sole sentence in your posting so i suppose it's too much to ask who you think is racing in each semi-final?
  6. Wouldn't it be idea to try and maximise support for the team?, i mean it's not exactly enticing for those who live in Scunthorpe to travel over to Belle Vue to support a team named Sheffield - or vice versa as it's yet to be determined who is actually racing. Varying publicity from; BSPA SHEFFIELD SCUNTHORPE BELLE VUE SPEEDWAY STAR
  7. You've certainly had a mind-bending task there Parsoles with the programmes. Regards the 'protocol' i point out again and ask for an explanation as to why, as mentioned in my previous post the BSPA have the ties as; Although amongst others the Speedway Star has; Incidentally regards the naming of the team, in order to avoid arguments of favouritism, one would really need to go by alphabetical order and have it as Scunthorpe/Sheffield. There is nothing wrong with using the dual name at ALL times and it is obviously of the greatest necessity to do so. To drop either Scunthorpe or Sheffield would be insane.
  8. OK put them online so AVAILABLE as of NOW! All done and dusted and checked You can directly download them from the top of the following page. MiniMax Racecard 2011 CROATIAN Grand Prix Basic Version MiniMax Racecard 2011 CROATIAN Grand Prix And, as are all, you're welcome Emerald Tyke.
  9. Sincerest apologies Philip for cheekily drawing you 'off topic' but any chance of you grabbing a second to input some 'knowledge' in the following thread? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=66860&st=25 It's a one-off request but as with your magazine you are more times than not likely to have the actual facts on hand. So we could all do with some inside information as i've never seen such a farcical amount of conflicting permutations. Hope you still around the forums and not ZZZZZ-ing away by now lol.
  10. The FARCE continues the Speedway Star fixtures list today has Belle Vue v SHEFFIELD Sheffield v Belle Vue Any chance of anyone from the following bodies clarifying who is racing against who and quoting the rules as to WHY? BSPA SHEFFIELD SCUNTHORPE BELLE VUE SPEEDWAY STAR
  11. Available in the afternoon following the draw (Friday) are the TWO different versions of the MiniMax Racecard. You can directly download them from the top of the following page. MiniMax Racecard 2011 CROATIAN Grand Prix Racecard Basic Version MiniMax Racecard 2011 CROATIAN Grand Prix Racecard
  12. Wow need to change the title of this thread now lol. Crazier and crazier....the BSPA fixture listings for October have Belle Vue v SCUNTHORPE SHEFFIELD v Belle Vue So which of all the previous naming explanations account for that???
  13. Incidentally, a further observation on this official name of the team thing, as they have all season the BSPA site has Scunthorpe/Sheffield listed in the league standings. However, in their play-off section they list them as Sheffield/Scunthorpe. (too complicate matters they have them racing against Belle Bue lol, no sweat we ALL make typo's) I'm pretty sure everything i read preseason has them listed as Scunthorpe/Sheffield (alphabetical order). Can't wait to see what happens if they win the trophy, do they have a tug-o-war to decide where to keep the cup? SKJ, i know about the home naming, but can you enlighten me as to what they are called when they race away fixtures? I've not been to any of their fixtures, just interested.
  14. Respect to you indeed for your support of the lower levels. Very impressed that you also sought out a dvd of the meetings you couldn't get to travel to. And yeah!, i agree, shock horror indeed. ( just an afterthought, maybe you should play the dvd in case they swap race jackets halfway through the meeting to Scorpion ones )
  15. Surely that can not be true, how absolutely farcical and inane if they do that? Don't get me wrong i can see how on financial grounds and wishing to develop riders that a combination of teams is a good idea. Although, only if at ALL times the team is referred to and races as the combined team. How are the general public (and speedway fans) supposed to comprehend when they see in the local Sheffield media that....'Sheffield are in the semi-finals of the play-offs'....'Sheffield have won their semi-final' and then forever keep an eye out for the result of the final only to never see Sheffield in it!!! Worse of all some team who never qualified for the final because they were not one of the semi-final participants goes on to win the trophy!!! If you have a joint team surely when staging a home fixture one would be welcome of attracting supporters through the gates from your partner team?. Yet it would appear each team pretends the other one does not exist when staging a home match or listing fixtures? Alice in Wonderland/Alternate Reality or what? Guess the masterminds behind this are all Canadians (lol private 'in' joke). Thanks for the quick reply.
  16. This Scunthorpe/Sheffield or Sheffield/Scunthorpe hybrid is still throwing me when it comes to fixtures being listed. IS it?.....and if it is why??? Belle Vue v SHEFFIELD. What on earth has happened to Scunthorpe? Sadly, i simply don't have time to follow National League speedway so with such a statement as the title of this thread i'm at a loss. Please someone correct/clarify my confusion on any of the possibilities below. 1. I understood it that the team is called Scunthorpe/Sheffield - it's listed as such in the BSPA tables and Speedway Star tables. So i take it that Belle Vue are actually racing against Scunthorpe/Sheffield? Surely, the BV promotion wouldn't want to deter the mass hordes of Scunny fans from attending? 2. If the semi-final should be as the OP states and it is Belle Vue v Sheffield, then one presumes should they qualify the finalists will be against Scunthorpe on the grounds of fairness!!!. 3. The team is made up at all times of riders contracted to Sheffield AND Scunthorpe???, and that is the case whichever track the home meeting takes place at? 4. If the 'home' meeting is being staged at Sheffield the match programme has the team listed as Sheffield and vice versa for Scunthorpe??? Which seems very stupid, although i distinctly remember press releases pre-season saying such a thing. 5. I presume away meetings and match programmes refer to the hybrid Scunthorpe/Sheffield??? 6. If the beast that is the hybrid progresses to the final the home leg will be staged at Scunthorpe? Or will they opt for what i presume is a superior stadium and hold it at Sheffield, seems very unfair if Scunthorpe don't get to host a play-off though.
  17. I did presume CH was Christchurch and the earthquake immediately came to mind, however, still not sure what the double use of it means. Unless it's a case of 'New York, New York'! Cheers for the confirmation anyway.
  18. Not sure why such secrecy is around today, the tried and trusted Polish site is up and running and the Sopcast link i just tried on it was fine. By the way, there was an interval in the speedway. I think it's clearly the football authorities cracking down and the speedway feeds getting caught up simply because they are on the same site. However, it is heart-warming to see speedway fans getting wise and using PM's etc. My goodness we'll make urban warfare guerrillas and anarchists out of you all yet lol. In the interests of others (i'm watching it on tv) i decided to click on a non-Sopcast link to see if i could get you an address. Normally, i run any internet streams link through a minimum of 4 security portals etc. But as i'm busy i thought i'd take a chance to grab you a quick feed and lo and behold my computer was attacked with an intrusion attempt amongst other things. Fortunately, nothing whatsoever got through. A reminder for those who use Sopcast always opt for the anonymous option. I've used Sopcast for a good few years and quite heavily at times. I've never had an attack of any sort. So long as you have an anti-virus and use your pop-up blocker one should be fine. Although, i have never ever clicked on a chinese or russian feed lol. Oh well setting the rest of the speedway on to record now as i want to watch two Champions League matches at once.
  19. Whilst i'm happy to pay the subscription fee for a high quality tv picture, i think i'd now prefer a Polish internet feed even though i don't understand a word of the language, reason being the Premier Sports commentator has really fallen out of favour with me now. He seemed to have eased up recently on his inane use of the word 'split' to describe a heat result. What's wrong with it's a '5-1' '4-2' etc., or even a '5-1 heat win' Do you ever hear split used in such a way for sports? Did you hear the other week commentators and reporters saying Manchester United SPLIT Arsenal 8-2?. Or during this weekend's match it's 'Manchester United with a 3-0 SPLIT over Bolton' and 'Rooney makes it a 5-0 Split to Manchester United'. Do tennis players split a set 6-4? I think he comes from a Rugby background but i've never heard anyone on tv say 'It's a 18-12 split to Bath over Munster'. But what's really irking me now is......referring to the riders being in SLOT 3 or SLOT 2.....for flipping heck's sake! Why does he seem determined to make himself unpopular by entering a sport and ignoring the set terminology that has existed for decades and decide to apply his own??? Oh yeah, please God, as i don't want to put an axe through my telly, don't let him refer to a 'speedway DRIVER' again. Riders ride bikes and drivers drive cars. grrrRRRR LOL.
  20. The 'Projected Points' feature of the MiniMax league tables does all of that and has been doing so ALL season to show the TRUE abilities of teams and their performances. I suggest you have a glance at the 'projected points' explanation on that page or in the MiniMax sticky at the top of this forum. It isn't predictive it calculates solely on results of matches ridden and is always on an 'as they stand today' basis. It nullifies teams trying to ride lots of home matches and calculates exactly the NINE different points scenarios of matches and extrapolates into an even number of matches (the total due to be ridden in a season) for visual and comprehension purposes. Like i mentioned above, the MiniMax tables have been showing clearly defined for a while now who the 'cream of the crop' were. Fortunately, we do indeed have the best four teams qualified. The projected points section of the MiniMax tables currently show; 43 Stoke 35 Scunthorpe/Sheffield 35 Mildenhall 35 Belle Vue 27 Hackney 25 Dudley 24 King's Lynn 18 Isle Of Wight 17 Buxton 16 Newport MiniMax League Tables
  21. Oh My Goodness! play-offs AND play-OUTS?????? I thought the Polish system was one the most bizarre play-off systems in the world of sports. I'll be Googling/Wikipedia-ing and checking the Swedish season preview in this forum to find out what on earth a play-OUT is. I'm not sure how the Premier Sports tv commentator is going to cope lol.
  22. Hopefully someone will let others know how that turns out!!!. I know for sure i wouldn't be giving card or bank details to such a site. I mean surely the SGP site would be heavily promoting any 'official' service for video feeds? If it is unofficial, you really want to give your banking details up? It would take me under a minute to grab the SGP 'official' logo's etc. and plant them in a webpage. It would 'look' official for sure as does any phishing site. Hell i'd even make sure i used the same font and border surrounds/backgrounds that the SGP site uses but.....it wouldn't be official.
  23. Agree with you totally on that point. Sky's commentator in the Elite League matches will often say it's a thrilling meeting just because the scores are close. However, the (lack of) racing can be absolutely turgid. Totally disagree! Whilst last year was fantastic and hard to live up to, this season has had plenty of great racing too. Tonight's meeting was not mainly processional at all.
  24. Agree with you ( in your agreement of me lol) in that i have many other riders far ahead whom i prefer to watch race. However, don't do the chap a disservice in snipping my quote and omitting the bit below in bold lettering.
