  1. TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard Danske Liga Slangerup Vs Fjelsted Wednesday, 12th, June, 2013 Great to see Leon Madsen back after injury. Slangerup will be keen to win this one after Fjelsted have remarkably become their bogey team. "Team Fjelsted sent a minor shock wave through the Danish speedway since the last season did what no one thought possible, and the first team for seven years, won an away victory at the legendary impregnable Fort Slangerup. Later in the season had Slangerup suffer another defeat when they visited Fjelsted for the return match, and since then Team Fjelsted sent Zealanders for the count for a third time when the two teams met for this year's first league match Fjelsted Speedway Center. "
  2. On that particular point i do find it hard to believe that someone who has the money to be able to watch speedway (or any sport) on a very tv large screen, nowadays usually HD, and without any buffering or risk of viruses etc. would decide to choose an online stream and cancel their Sky subscription! The way i see it is that those who can afford Sky will and do subscribe to it. Those who can't watch the online streams and technically are not depriving Sky of a single penny as they cant afford to join Sky. Don't forget a Sky subscriber now has a great range of options for watching and recording. You can watch on up to two other devices computer, laptop etc in addition to your Sky box. Who would give all that up if they can afford it to watch a stream that could suddenly stop mid-meeting? I personally don't know of any sports fan who being able to afford Sky has given it up in favour of watching internet streams and depriving Sky of money. Those who watch the streams will pretty much all not be able to subscribe to Sky, Sky are not out of pocket. Indeed once some of these who watch on the internet get some money they'll probably leap at the chance of joining Sky because they see what coverage is available.
  3. Sorry not picking on you uk martin but having a little think about this i think it's very bad protocol indeed to include inline images into a BSF post. A link is fine as people can choose whether to view it or not. The thing is with it being hosted on a third party server BUT PLACED INLINE ON THE BSF PAGE, if that server is slow (or dangerous, more coming up on that aspect) then no matter how well the BSF server and users computers and broadband connections are running then the page will load slowly. It isn't helped at all that posters are not bothering to re-size the images to acceptable levels. You're imposing heavy bandwidth usage on BSF users expecting pretty much a light text page. Of course the biggest potential problem is that images are used to carry viruses etc. Going back to a point i mentioned above if a BSF user has a choice to visit an image link on a third party server that could be tainted (not necessarily the picture either but the third party server) then ok that's their choice to make. However, it's very poor to enforce on all visitors to a BSF page to have something from a third party server automatically downloaded on to their computer. I see the image that you include is hosted on akamaihd.net and when i put it through over half a dozen security portals it passed ok (NOT totally clean but that doesn't affect your image and can be explained). Now whilst your image and server may be fine another image included inline could be hosted on a dodgy or corrupt server (intentionally so or unknown to the owner) and host all manner of nasties. I just think we'd all be safer if the BSF had an option available to us to view or not to view images...hang on i think it may do, i'll have a look later to see if one can block images. UPDATE: I've just had a quick shufty and can't see any option to block images etc, in forums there are usually one to block avatars etc but unless i'm looking too hard i can't even see that option lol.
  4. TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard Elitserien Elit Vetlanda Vs Dackarna Tuesday, 11th, June, 2013 All Elitserien racecards are initially available with the officially announced provisional line-ups. I will then check for any changes shortly before the match commences and make any amendments accordingly. It's your choice as to whether you wish to print out on the provisional line-ups or wait. UPDATE Dackarna's Patrick Hougaard was possibly knocked out in a nasty crash at Belle Vue tonight and is reported to being kept in hospital overnight for observations. Late team changes ahead tomorrow then? So gertcha fingers off that download button until tomorrow lol. Hope he's ok and best wishes to him, despite him going into my black book for messing up me racecard lol, YES only joking. UPDATE 2 Nice to get an early replacement sorted out and the racecard duly amended.
  5. The viewer is not the one reproducing copy-written stuff so you're doing nothing illegal? However, i'm guessing that the key point for the BSF to consider is that if they allow links to be shown then they are actively enabling and engaging in the copyright to be broken? Clearly the streamers are sometimes pursued (only to pop up within the hour elsewhere) but rarely if ever is a single one of millions of viewers. It's similar to where for many, many years whenever people recorded songs on to a cassette recorder or video'd a tv show they were technically breaking the law. Also, isn't it the case where prostitution is illegal but their 'clients' don't do anything illegal, or some sort of contradictory clash in that area exists. There is currently no definitive answer to the question of whether watching LIVE streams is illegal. Depending on the site and file type, online streaming may create a full-length temporary copy of the movie on your computer. Alternatively, the program may delete the data as you watch. Some courts have held that even temporary copies may violate the law. However, the Copyright Office contends there is no violation when "a reproduction manifests itself so fleetingly that it cannot be copied, perceived or communicated." Incidentally it's important to discern the difference in You Tube links which are filmed by the uploader compared to those that are copies of tv broadcasts, the latter are a big no no. Again though there are millions of such clips on You Tube that are not removed because the copyright holder does not ask for them to be removed.
  6. Lol. Does he then? i've never really looked at it from that angle. Point noted, i've just seen this after replying to your earlier post and the clarification of friends/'good list' makes a difference, albeit with the same end result you have to be on Ole's list. I would imagine the hallowed halls of BSI ec are the same as any industry or workplace where regardless of official job titles and jurisdictions most things are settled by an unchallengeable clique lol.
  7. According to match reports the meeting had some very good racing. Not got to watch it yet, but there is a high quality (picture quality that is, only one camera angle and the riders are small in the distance of the far bend) 13 minute video of the meeting here and.......i thought Sweden was good but WOW! what a setting for a speedway track, hey what a setting for anything.
  8. I didn't actually realize that was your point, having said that i was quickly whisking through posts. Myself personally i'd go along to watch speedway in an open field in the middle of nowhere and have to wear wellington boots to wade through the 'car park' mud......ooops! have i just described many UK tracks? lol......however you honestly really can't underestimate the vast numbers of people who will not go, or never go again, in view of the spartan facilities at a lot of (non) stadiums. People are simply used to much better these days when it comes to comfort. Obviously there are exceptions in some sports but on the whole the majority of the mass general public just don't do 'roughing it' anymore when seeking their entertainment and splashing out the dosh.
  9. According to match reports the meeting had some very good racing. Not got to watch it yet, i'm rushing off out right now, but there is a high quality (picture quality that is, only one camera angle and the riders are small in the distance of the far bend) 13 minute video of the meeting here and.......i thought Sweden was good but WOW! what a setting for a speedway track, hey what a setting for anything.
  10. What a horror show from Chris Harris, we can only hope that rather sharpish our younger riders have a surge in form. There is a batch lying in wait but whilst they are restricted to doing just UK speedway they aren't going to do what the continental youngsters do, which is after a couple of seasons or so have a mighty leap in performance. Ours seem to level off and stagnate. Someone else on these forums pointed that out recently too. I'm starting to be inclined towards favouring a promising/exciting non-Brit for the Poole and SGP Wild Cards rather than have one of ours plodding around.
  11. Aaah i hadn't realised they were stored on a third party server. I was just aware all of a sudden there was an increase of inline pictures. Reminds me of when i posted a link to a picture a few years ago as the subject of a thread and immediately had someone saying it will be using up the forums bandwidth. However, i was quick to point out the image was hosted on my site and incurred no bandwidth load on the BSF. "The Full Horror Of Middlo, the damning evidence of the true nature of the man that i stumbled across is proven here, Why Middlo Must Go Now - Full Truth & Proof....." http://speedway.manc...net/middlo.html (Grrrrrrr lol lol i hate it when support staff or anyone blames one's connection or to clear one's cache, my connection is a rock steady 75-76Mgb and my cache is cleared every time i close any of my browsers. Many people are havng problems with the BSF running slowly recently, check out the 'This Forum' section of the site)
  12. That sort of statement keeps cropping up and it keeps needing to be pointed out that if, in this example, Coventry held stock car meetings every week of the season they would not get that crowd every week. Have Coventry speedway club (and other tracks) stage only two or three meetings a season and watch their average attendance soar.
  13. Lol you got a right pearler there! although to be fair he must be well past the age of senility by now. Surely Germany can come up with a more recent famous speedway rider to enhance their coverage? or are they going all out for the Grandmas and Grandpas market? Goodness me we so harsh on here with our barbs and we all so perfect too
  14. Uh oh surely not the passing of currency! Lol. If you watch speedway at certain tracks that shed must be about to collapse under the weight of coat after coat. I got to disagree though the second half of the meeting had a good few moments. Again if it had been a true resurrected World Pairs Championship it would have been a more fiercely and closely fought event. Hopefully it created enough interest to put that on the agenda. Of course the crowd which in my opinion was a shocker in view of all the promotion and write-ups ahead of the meeting may cast a shadow on that.
  15. Yes that did stand out like a sore thumb, it clearly wasn't 'the' World Pairs competition that was last held 20 years ago. It beggared belief he did it a second time. Especially when he was clearly aware of the dumbness of it the first time around. Although it can't come close to one of the most unexplainable and bizarre moments in TV history when Charlie Webster got Hans Andersen to cover up his 'topless' chest in the pits. Lol he had to go and rummage for a T-Shirt and hold it up under his chin whilst trying to talk. OMG man nipples!
  16. Pity Sayfutdinov got all chopped off to make the final an anti-climax but i reckon it was a meeting worth watching more than missing. So shed painters of the world weep lol
  17. What a great little feature on right now and my those ladies are leggy. Another very good feature on Eurosport in the interval right now. At least there has been no Danske Liga type delays, the meeting has sped along.
  18. Who's not enjoying this now??? Two high power races coming up too
  19. Hampel has got to be getting miffed now 'Your' boy. Gee Son of Frankenstein pales into insignificance lol.
  20. The UK Eurosport commentator is really on the ball as to the significance of what's at stake in each race and also how it will likely affect the future races. OMG you got their names...go on name your price for their telephone numbers. Agreed I'm really enjoying the meeting and it should only get better with the cut throat semi-final and then final ahead. I think the crowd is disappointing in view of the fact they clearly expected a capacity crowd when they set out. Also it was without a doubt decimated over the course of today regards walk up spectators with all the changes in the teams. Social media had lots of people saying they had changed their minds and were no longer going. That choice obviously made easier for them in view of the fact the meeting is televised. Lovely racing right now, i'll paint my garden shed tomorrow lol.
  21. I'm guessing at school Ryan Fisher was always last to be picked and stuffed in goal lol. No truth in the rumours Ryan Fisher has been taken to hospital, doctors are worried that he hasn't passed anything for two weeks lol. Cool enjoy your painting, i'll stay indoors and continue enjoying the meeting. Again more good racing and a valuable 7-2 for Denmark.
  22. Some tasty racing there, has anyone ever mentioned that racing tends to get better as a meeting goes along? (ok i not guaranteeing it though lol)
  23. Oh well just looking at my TV screen right now the 'White' start line girl is having quite a party she's enjoying herself.
