Swedish Play Offs 2012
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Elit Vetlanda's 100% record at home this season. Some hefty wins in there. Indianerna 49-41 Västervik 57-33 Piraterna 51-39 Hammarby 49-41 Valsarna 52-38 Dackarna 53-37 Vargarna 48-42 Semifinals: Indianerna 58-32 Incidentally i have since amended the racecard to reflect the recent expected changes in the riding order. But it's still prudent to hold back. At least with speedway we normally get the teams well in advance unlike football. -

Missed this post on first glance, thanks Ghostwalker. With all the possible changes looming going to be a racecard issued as they approach the tapes!!! Does Vaculik have a talent for Cheerleading? maybe he's at the hotel waiting for his pom poms and mini skirt to be delivered lol. Noooooo don't say Ghosts are fast i bank on being able to run away if i see one Scooby Doo style. Ahh i was wondering why you were concerned about the rain to that extent, but was thinking more on the lines of Premier Sports maybe pulling the plug before the end. Ok a relief you can resend later, i am in all afternoon now and will do my utmost to grab a confirmed riding order to avoid fans pencilling away. -

You're welcome. Got away this year with i think only a single meeting (two at most) where there has been a change in the printed line-ups. Alas, tonight may be an exception with yourselves having a deadline to send them out and a possible riding order reshuffle as well as David Ruud's status to be determined. But hey what's a speedway meeting without lots of scribbling in a programme lol. Rain, definitely a bane of broadcasters, seems to affect speedway more than cricket these days! -

I was wondering about them having to shuffle the riding order. I'll be intermittently Googling away the next few hours in order to keep on top of the racecard line-up lol. Not heard anything else on Ruud since this morning, although have only just arrived home and done a quick search after popping out.. -

There is obviously a strong likelihood of changes to the teams once health checks have been carried out later today. However, for those who need the racecard before then i've put online the official provisional line-ups. AVAILABLE NOW MiniMax Racecards - Swedish Play Offs FINAL 2nd Leg, ELIT VETLANDA Vs. PIRATERNA (WEDNESDAY) http://speedway.manc.../racecards.html Going by a couple of forecasts i just glanced at it looks like the opening shots this evening on our tv and computer screens will be of a wet track. Nothing biblical though at all. Injury Update As of 10am (9am UK) Swedish time David Ruud is reported as stating he is still hopeful he can ride tonight. 9:15 Updated the racecard as Norbert Kosciuch is now confirmed in a couple of places as riding tonight. Not that i ever doubted Ghostwalker's word -

You're welcome and Ditto. I'll bow to your superior knowledge of Swedish speedway but i would have thought even without Ruud that Vetlanda will go through without having to undergo a battle? Mainly basing that on Piraterna getting hammered earlier in the season with a full strength team when they visited Elit. Certainly hope you're right and we can have another fine meeting. -

Madsen getting a chance to mix it with the biggest boys in this heat. Piraterna pull into the lead in the final heat and Man U go 2-1 up in Romania -

Valiant effort by Rosen but was pipped to the flag, not by Hampel but by Jonasson. -

We'll likely need to have pens at the ready for the racecards tomorrow night as might be some late team declarations. The 'broken-footed' Ruud out for sure. UK tv commentator already got it figured out, reckoning rider replacement for Ruud and Nobby coming in for Piotr. -

Gonna be a delay. Ruud up on to stretcher now. Yayyyyyyyy! Piotr up too now. Ruud leg injury into ambulance and Piotr wincing with pain while holding his arm/shoulder/collar bone but walking away. Limping away more accurately. -

Ouch proper pile up and bad landing for Hancock although he's up now. Plus two riders into the fence with one still under (Piotr Pawlicki). Hancock locking up caused the crash but Ruud and Pawlicki coming off worse. -

Reserve race now a repeat of the 5-1 in the first one would do Piraterna nicely. -

To an extent you could say the same for Piraterna in view of their troubles assembling a team to face a very strong Vetlanda side. Back in August when they had Sundstrom and the other Pawlicki they only won at home 46-44. Unfortunately a 39-51 lost in Vetlanda doesn't bode well for their title ambitions. -

Interval gives me time to set up Man United's Champions League match and one other, yet to decide which. Rooney, Hernandez and Van Persie all starting against the Romanians! Good job for them we got some injuries elsewhere in the team. -

Hate it when customer services say things like that, especially as most times they are hinting the fault is at the customer's end, and i've never phoned up with a fault at my end. Oh well they KNOW NOW. Crump roars from last to first. Thomas H is the victor in a good race for second place over Janowski. Madsen and Ruud pairing out again and have Hancock and Rosen to race. And a 4-2 for Piraterna slightly unexpected. Raining a little now. Last race before the interval and Holder not holding back at all, sweeping around full throttle to the front. Crump doing a Chris Harris GP impression well behind the field. -

Sayfutdinov and Holder going at it in style despite the state of the track, Hampel not a factor, indeed Janowski pips him for a point. -

First race that was strung out all four riders as Ruud and Madsen follow up their H1 5-1 with another. I presume you'll get a refund? Not that that matters right now. -

Wonder if they'll give Piotr a rest from his scheduled ride in the next race avoiding two on the trot. Although with R/R going on they could hold back. Nope, Piotr must be a wicked man.....no rest for him. -

!!!! PIOTR PAWLICKI AT THE TAPES I bet Chris Holder is getting nervy after seeing Emil lock up during that race. Pawlicki completed the race and didn't trundle around. -

Wow cheers for that speedy insight, i was about to ask. Have you got an English commentary option on that page? It would save you from my prattlings a little. I'll still mutter away anyway if summat worth muttering about. Up to now Piraterna's two reserves have shown good form, very necessary as they'll be taking extra rides now with Piotr's injury.
